  1. Yup, the Bills Super Bowl era can pretty much be summed up in those two paragraphs...sadly...
  2. First dozen or so seasons were appointment TV, haven't seen much since. Although for the last week, FXX was running a Tree House of Horror marathon and those standout as the best episodes.
  3. Still the best car chase in film history. It was playing last weekend in a few theaters around here but I missed it.
  4. I think the Bills would have been better off if McKeller didn't catch that ball. They only gained six yards but it ate up about 15 seconds. That short gain did not warrant the time it took.
  5. Yup, and being up 41-3 at halftime, the rest of the game was just one big raucous party...pure joy, elation and every other adjective you can think of. The closest WNY has ever gotten to a New Orleans Mardi Gras atmosphere.
  6. That's the key to the discounts and free items. I'm too invested in Verizon/FIOS to go AT&T. I keep getting the $100/off for ST Max as their very best offer.
  7. Heard on the radio coming in today that the Skins will soon turn to Groupon to sell tickets...to the home opener I know the Bills have discounted December games in the past, but I can't remember them selling through an outside source. 8. My favorite crab cake in Baltimore is at Duda's in Fells Point, a little hole in the wall on the corner of Thames and Bond.
  9. Good episode but I thought it was the weakest of the four so far. WAY too much time spent on the pizza eating contest. Also, I wish these were more timely, as this one focused on the Carolina game, which was almost a month ago. Still a great series, but they need to be at least a half-hour long and a bit more timely.
  10. It was certainly a football Taj-Mahal in its day...
  11. Well, I don't recall being presented with an option...my bad, I guess.
  12. They need to bring this guy(s) back...from 1974, how many remember this mascot gem? Think it last about two seasons, max.
  13. Good post. The Genie 2 has been stable...so far...but if they don't waive the protection plan hike, I'll tell them the thing stinks and come back with the original box. This has been a good and informative thread. I've been a big fan of DTV since I first got it in 2000, once claimed it was the best consumer decision I ever made, but they've really soured on me this year.
  14. I never saw that in any of the media reports yesterday either...I did see where ST Max is not yet available. I suppose it will soon, as well as other markets. This is the year they get all the streaming kinks out of the way, sort of a Beta run, and next season ST Max should be widely available to stream.
  15. PSA: Beware the Fine Print: As part of my re-upping with DTV, I was given a "free upgrade" to the Genie 2 box. Tech came out Monday to install, as described in an earlier post, but found out my protection plan goes from $8.99/month to $20.99/month with the Genie 2. I checked and it's there in the fine print, but of course the fine rep who gave me the "free" upgrade failed to mention that. So, I'll start the merry-go-round again with a call to DTV tomorrow...good gawd, I hate all this.
