  1. September 30, 1973, first regular season game at Rich. Took a bus with our church men's club in Rochester. They didn't quite have the traffic patterns worked out, so we arrived middle of first quarter. It was a 9-7 Bills win, on three John Leypoldt field goals. Jets scored a late TD in the 4th to make it close. Play I most remember: We were in the upper endzone, tunnel end, and OJ juked about three Jets out of their shorts on his way to 123 yards. With the endzone view, it was truly poetry in motion. Box: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/197309300buf.htm NFL Films highlights:
  2. This is exactly the situation. In the NY metro area ONLY, you'll see Bills-Colts on NFLN. This is standard practice for NFLN, MLBN, NHLN, etc.
  3. Hopefully streaming on a per game basis...i.e. $10.99 for just the Bills game.
  4. Moulds had a monster game...established himself as the heir apparent to Reed.
  5. Especially ESPN and the RSNs. I pay almost $9/month for our RSNs (MASN for O's and Nats; Comcast Sportsnet Washington for Caps, Wiz) and hardly ever watch. I'll turn MASN on a couple of times a week, max, to catch an inning or two of a ballgame, but that's about it.
  6. And you can be sure they're holding some seats back for potential season ticket buyers. When those seats open up after the first preseason game, the availability will be much greater. The season ticket numbers when Rex came were at an all-time high if I recall correctly. Fans bought into Rex but is it possible they haven't bought into McBean or this season's draft/FA additions?
  7. DTV has become a corporate behemoth, like Comcast, and is now living in the cable world where channel/provider feuds are commonplace. I first got DTV in 2000 and there never seemed to be an issue like what some are experiencing with their local networks. Fortunately, here in the DC area, so far, we've been sparred the re-transmission issue. I'm throwing in the towel with DTV when my $60/month credit ends next month. Barring a miracle, I'll be cancelling, but as many have reported, AT&T don't care. They would rather have a collection of subscribers paying full boat, than a patchwork quilt of customers getting promotions, discounts, etc. So, if that's their wish, so be it.
  8. I would also like to take the opportunity for folks to take a gander at Ticketmaster and the relatively surprising number of tickets that are still available for the Bills home opener... https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0000566BD82F7534?dma_id=409&brand=bills&artistid=805905&landing=s&camefrom=CFC_BILLS_BBC_PIP
  9. I'm pretty sure at this point I'm going with YouTube TV and getting Sling w/NFLN and RedZone for the football season.
  10. I was on Ticketmaster last week and was surprised at the amount of seats still available for the opener.
  11. Just wasted an hour on a DirecTV chat with two different CSRs, asking about an extension of my current $60/month credit, which ends August 21st. The final "response" was to "contact us on August 21st to see about possible promotions" as I am "not eligible at this time, since I already have a promotion." AT&T lost over two million TV (DTV, DTV Now, AT&T Universe) subscribers in the last year. The company feels no obligation or loyalty to long-time customers. Be assured, that barring the unlikely extension of my current credit, I will reciprocate the favor on August 21st. DirecTV is dead to me.
  12. So, half of the league would have 9 home games and the other half 8? I know, I know, one game could be played at a neutral site, teams could alternate the extra home game on an annual basis, etc. But the logistical nightmare a 17 game season presents won't be worth the headaches. Leave it at 16...less is more here.
  13. I hope this report is wrong but it looks like the NFL may be sticking with DTV...ugh... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/07/11/report-nfl-likely-to-stick-with-directv-through-end-of-current-deal/
  14. Yes, I've had that told to me in years past. The whole thing is a crap shoot...depends on the CSR, the day and who knows what really else.
  15. I hope I'm wrong, but after reading posts on this board and over at DBS Talk, seems the best deals are going to existing AT&T wireless customers. We'll see what happens when I do the dance with the AT&T next month.
  16. I'm in the same boat, 19 years with DTV. There's a similar thread going on in the Off the Wall forum. Basically, I was hoodwinked into a two year contract, which expires in August 2020. My discounts expire this August and by the sounds of things, it looks unlikely that I'll get those discounts going into next year. So, unless I'm offered an overwhelming promotion, I'm cutting them loose and paying the "fine." DTV has gone to heck since being bought by AT&T...which was once a customer-friendly operation is now a monolithic conglomerate. Are you an AT&T cellphone customer as well?
  17. Disneyland's head of security had "no comment."
  18. Don't seem to be making it easy...you need to go to Tops (they're still around?) or a gas station, get a secret "code," then go online to get the tickets. Why do you need a ticket anyways? Do the Bills think that 70,000 will show up at the Ralph for this?!?!
  19. I see. I have a Samsung TV that supports YouTube TV and YTTV also carries our local ABC station where Hulu does not. However, History station is not on YTTV but on Hulu...tough choice but the local ABC won out.
  20. Yup, a Five Guys now. Kevin Grevey is sitting poolside some place nice now, sipping a cool drink, thanks to Bills fans.
  21. Made it into Arlington right as the rains started...neighborhood in Fairfax County is saturated with many roads closed, including US Rt. 50, a very major thoroughfare. Thankfully, my home and family are dry.
  22. Let us know if AT&T reaches out to you in the coming days asking you to come back and to what, if any promos they offer. I am cancelling next month when my $60/month credit expires...curious as to why Hulu Premium over YouTube TV, which I'm looking at. I also have Netflix and Prime.
