Who is Your Favorite Classic TV Housekeeper/Servant
Ned Flanders replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Tough one...I went with French, whose official title was a "Gentleman's Gentleman." -
This came up on Spotify over the weekend and hadn't heard it in 30 years...great tune.

Rod Kush game in 1980, comeback road win vaulted the Bills to 5-0, and I can remember where I was watching this. Kush had a monster game, taking over for the injured Jeff Nixon and starring on special teams. Unfortunately, he hurt his knee late and I believe he was out the rest of the year.

Game was blacked out in WNY...had to listen on radio. The 1975 team started out 4-0 and looked like a SB contender, only to lose to a lackluster Giants team on MNF. This game led to a downward spiral with the Bills finishing a pedestrian 8-6 and out of the playoffs.

Last year I noticed the people with AT&T wireless were most likely to get free ST or significant discounts.

And are you an existing AT&T wireless customer?

Some students actually "rent" their email credentials on eBay...don't know how reliable or legal, that is.

Ah, like the swallows returning to Capistrano, the annual August ST thread...the most wonderful time of the year. I saw the "no dish required" DTV ad on FB and and I opened and it's deceptive advertising...you could always stream if you couldn't receive a signal (as determined by your address and DTV) and that's all this is...same old, same old bait and switch from DTV. My contract is up August 20th so that's the day I make the call.

Interesting NFL Schedule Alternative
Ned Flanders replied to Just Joshin''s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very plausible and a responsible response to the pandemic. I think the NFL has until the end of the month to figure this thing out and if things don't get any better, I believe this type of scenario is certainly on the table. -

Time for an Earl Weaver argument

A timeless classic and a reason I'll always be an Orioles fan. -
Sorry, can't agree with either of your takes here. Two DBs you omitted, Leonard Smith and Nate Odomes, were certainly top-tier, thus labeling the Bills DBs "very weak" is a misnomer. In addition, the offensive line, anchored by Kent Hull, who should be in the HOF BTW, and included stalwarts Will Wolford, Jim Ritcher, and House Ballard, was certainly above average. The story of the four SB loses was simply, other than XXV, the opponents were a better team.

Best Sign Ever at Bills game?
Ned Flanders replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jeff Nixon was off to a torrid start in 1980 and by week four vs. Oakland, a "Nixon for President" sign appeared at Rich. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/N/NixoJe20.htm -
I miss the JOS Banks mega-sales...the buy one, get three free. Those days are gone.

Best sign at Rich during the Raiders game: "Nixon for President." You'll recall that Jeff Nixon was leading the league, I believe, in INTs in the young season and was everywhere on defense. He only played seven games that season due to injuries but he was a terror during the early winning streak. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/N/NixoJe20.htm
