I get that, but there's considerable lag time between streamed live sports and sports being broadcast by satellite, cable or over-the-air.
-
Yup, as predicted, but how they fix the lag...sometimes more than 10 seconds...is going to be key.

Ralph is cheap.

I remember this game well, with the Bills going 5-0 with the big win and Rod Kush having the game of his life, before he unfortunately got hurt, putting him out for the rest of the year. Disgusting that the Chargers are no longer in San Diego. Spanos stinks.

Re-watching Old Games-- Bills @ Ravens, Sept 9th, 2018
Ned Flanders replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
The all-day rain was all I remember from this game as well. It was the worst weather game I've ever been to. -
Jeeziz, I remember that...I began to feel physically ill during the return.
-
Yup, Nate Clements went for the INT. A few plays beforehand, the Bills had a game clinching first down wiped out by a phantom holding penalty. We were in the endzone the Jags scored the winning TD...a lot of expletives flying leaving the Ralph on a very sunny and hot day.

All good, and bad, choices listed. For best season openers I was at, I'd have to list 1980 Fish, 1981 Jets, 1988 Vikings, 1991 Fish. Worst openers I was at: 2004 Jags, 1994 Jets, 1997 Vikings, 2018 Ravens.

I'll give you the occasional good episodes like the Marine Biologist and the Soup Nazi but watching some of the reruns, most post season three are unwatchable. But that's just me.

Like most sit-coms, Seinfeld peaked at season three and started the steep descent into obscurity. See also MASH, Modern Family, Happy Days, Cheers, etc. I think the only one that stayed great was Barney Miller. The cast changed a bit, but it always kept its edge.

Saw an article last week that said that DTV may be an "outlet" for ST for who wins the contract, i.e. Apple, with the proceeds funneled to the rights holder. Would apply to homes, bars, restaurants. But who the hell really knows at this point, it's pure speculation. One sad irony is that I think the days of calling for a discount will be over. Try calling Apple or Amazon or ESPN to get a "discount" starting next season. And with the $300-400 price point, aimed at discouraging middle-class fans and keeping the local networks happy, I hope we can pay on a per-game basis...but again, who knows right now.

Timeline for buying tickets
Ned Flanders replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in Bills Tickets and Gear
The Bills usually keep some tickets back for potential season tickets. Even with the wait list, they're advertising that seasons are still available: https://www.buffalobills.com/tickets/season-tickets After the first preseason game, you'll see some seats open up. -
Well, got the email yesterday saying I'm getting ST Max for free this year...so my annual August haggle call won't need to happen. BTW, I'm not an AT&T cell subscriber, I'm a 22 year DTV customer and get the minimum programming package. Praying that you all get the same email soon, especially @nucci

Do you take any vitamins on a daily basis?
Ned Flanders replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
I take a men's daily multi-vitamin and a separate vitamin D tablet. -
The first two minutes of this...wow, just wow! If this doesn't get you fired up, the pilot light is out!

He mentions the Phoenix support in his book. In the very beginning of his career, outside of NJ, Richmond, VA was also a favorite spot for him. I first saw him in 1980 in Rochester during The River tour...seen him several times since, the last in 2016. He's about to announce his 2023 N. American tour dates any day now.

Another great album released 44 years ago today, The Cars.

Darkness on the Edge of Town turns 44 this month. Here's a classic from this great album.

You and me both, brother. The one saving grace is that this could be the last year with DTV, with the their exclusive contract running out at the end of the season.

USFL overtime: Three rounds of 2pt conversions
Ned Flanders replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Go back to the regular season rule with a ten minute OT, but no sudden death. If tied after 10 minutes, tie game. In the playoffs, if tied after 10 minutes, play another 10 minute period, again no sudden death. Yeah, it could go on for what would seem like forever, but the premise of the game, with clock management, is preserved.
