  1. What about us Boomers? Piano Man?
  2. The whole NHL is becoming unwatchable to me. It was such a beautiful, clean, aesthetic game but now with the advertisements on the boards, ice, jerseys, and helmets, it's hard to watch. The athleticism and talent is still world-class, but take a look at a game from the 80s and you'll see the difference. In the not too distant future, the NHL will look like the gawd-awful European leagues. Still follow the Sabres but can't recall when I've sat an watched an entire game.
  3. Thank you. I'm 66 but hope to remain among the vertical for a little while longer...
  4. Some TBD HOFers there.
  5. Whatever happened to the 1960s blue throwback? Can't recall seeing it since the JP Losman daze.
  6. The only "power rankings" that matter: https://www.nfl.com/standings/
  7. Agree. I was watching as some of the early games we're coming down the stretch yesterday and I thought the announcer was going to have a seizure (would hate to have heard him announce the Hindenburg disaster). Just say where you're going and the let the game announcers take over.
  8. I'm about half way through "The Price: What It Takes to Win in College Football's Era of Chaos." Very good book and as a fan of college football, I weep for its future. NIL, transfer portal, conference realignment...it's all in there. Very eye opening and highly recommended. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0063345250?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
  9. Kind of reminds me when the MLB all star game was a thing...the NL would always beat the AL and the series record seemed insurmountable. However, the last 20 years, the AL has overtaken the NL. I think the Bills will surely soon do the same to Miami.
  10. Sounds like you served on a carrier...I was on the JFK in the 1970s.
  11. Looked like a clear block in the back at about the Cards 25 yard line...
  12. Rochester was a great place to grow up in the 1960s and 70s. I grew up in the Irish/Italian enclave of Charlotte...didn't know anyone who wasn't Catholic until high school. While the economy is still pretty good, thanks to the adjustments after Kodak, Xerox, B&L, et. al. manufacturing pretty much dried up, crime is now the number one issue. It's a shame what a once great city has become. Further discussion on this is probably best left to the politics board.
  13. So sorry for your loss...our pets are family.
  14. Canned this morning https://wtop.com/washington-commanders/2024/09/commanders-suspend-employee-after-undercover-video-showed-him-disparaging-players-and-fans/
  15. The value will certainly go up as the new domed stadium opens downtown next season.
  16. Same, my YTTV guide sez Pats-Bengals.
  17. @nucci says "Hold my beer."
  18. No more responses needed, this is the winner.
  19. I think you answered your own question in the first sentence...
  20. In early 2023, about two weeks after I signed up with YTTV, they dropped MLB Network...that really got my dander up, because when I signed up with them, I knew I was losing MASN on DTV but figured I'd get my seamhead fix from MLBN. I read one time that MLB charges about 39 cents per subscriber, a mere pittance of what the World Wide Leader charges. Still upset about MLBN but YTTV has been pretty solid in the coming up on two years that I've had them.
  21. These were funny for about the first five years...sorta like Seinfeld.
  22. Why the controversy here? They make a great wing and always my first stop when in town.
  23. I'm old enough to remember when Baltimore Colts home games started at 2:00pm because of some obscure Maryland law. NFL fought like heck to repeal it and Maryland finally did, with the NFL's help of course. The NFL likes uniformity and telling the networks what time a game begins.
