  1. Hello everyone, The running backs I have going in to week 1 are: Gore (Start) vs Sea Spiller vs Mia Bradshaw vs Car McCoy vs GB Best vs Chi I can start 3 of them. What do you guys think?
  2. But that would require us looking ahead to the future and considering the relativity of how these predictions are just predictions and don't really indicate anything. Besides, we don't have any victories or defeats yet, so the hypothetical victories are practically victories...that is until we actually play.
  3. Trent 5 for 5 with 48 yards, Roscoe with 2 catches, 1 for a touchdown. Offense looks like it can score, hopefully more frequently than last year.
  4. Kelsay with two tackles for short runs already. Well so far this doesn't look so good.
  5. 7 players are on defense, surprised Mckelvin and Florence are lower than Kelsay. Out of curiosity what do they rank the QB's? Obviously we all have our own opinions, but these guys do get paid for it....
  6. I used to play on a sports team and one of the guys was very talented, but very low in confidence. He knew he was good, but he always would talk about how good he was almost needy our agreement. I sort of see the same thing from Maybin from these reports, it's almost like he has to act confident and prove himself. I know the amount they are paid and have accomplished are very different, but I still see a similar trend.
  7. It's hard to argue with hilarity
  8. As always excellent report. It is good to see that there are differences in Edwards playing style so far, hopefully it extends in to the season. From your reports I can never tell if Maybin is playing well or not, but as long as I keep seeing his name I will assume that means he is improving.
  9. +1 Such a thoughtful thread, certainly one worth posting in. Are the Mr. Hyde's this way because they cannot act as they want to in real life? Or is because they are unhappy in real life and thus decide to transition that isolation/anger/etc....in ways that other people cannot retaliate? Usually for me forums just give me a second chance to correct my spelling and grammar errors (which is about 75% effective)
  10. I'm not even close to the inner circle (though Mead has been kind to me), but I'm going to post anyways. As someone who has read/followed/occasionally posted on this forum for the last 6 or so years, I have always enjoyed reading what Lori (you, if you're reading this) have posted. You consistently avoid the potential negative aspect (putting each other down, focusing on the small details instead of remembering we're all here because of our love for this football team) of this forum. Your posts are thoughtful and professional. They are always worth reading, and the pregame information is fantastic. For the analogy of the nice neighborhood that is in decline I would say that it is easier for the nicest folks to move away when they realize that the weather is taking a turn for the worse. However, I would say that as the quality of some of the more thoughtful posters leave it in turn makes the forum (neighborhood worse). It would be harder to have to deal with the negative opinions to see on this board, but in order to make a neighborhood a nicer place the solution is not leaving. I see this in many aspects of life where cutting bait seems like the best solution, but if you want to help the collective group please don't deprive us of one of our flashlights in the dark forum of trolling and putting each other down. Most of us want you and your posts here because it is one of the things that made this forum worthwhile to come to.
  11. Well if your team finishes 7-9 as oppose to 3-13 that should mean that the team that went 7-9 has more talent and is certainly more likely to make the playoffs in the future than the 3-13 team. Yes, if we did terrible we would get the cream of the crop picks, but EVERY year we look back and say why didn't we draft Oher, Orakpo, Ngata, Manigold (insert a player who became successful after the Bills picked) and there certainly are a lot to choose from as well. Maybe our management just is worse at keeping the talent that we have accumulated (Nate Clements, Pat Williams, Jabari Greer, London Fletcher) but one would think that a rookie would be much easier to develop on a team where he can be eased in fairly gradually as oppose to a team where his teams success is dependent on how he performs this year. Yes, players like LT, Reggie Bush, and Mario Williams go early, but so do Alex Smith, Jamarcus Russell, and so on, the teams that improved were ones that made a significant effort to allow those players to really have a legitimate shot of maximizing their potential (Chargers in 2004, Saints in 2007 or whenever they got Brees, and the Texans as we speak) so it matters less about where we draft players and more about the strategic management and coaching that allows these players to develop in a system where they can learn and rely on other already talented individuals so that they too can become talented and help the next generation of athletes.
  12. I just have this bad feeling that we're going to be beating the vikings and London Fletcher is going to sack and injure Jackson. Then Sage is going to come in and somehow win the game for them....I'm not sure where this thought is coming from though
  13. The team goes 8-8 proving that Gailey is better than Jauron (about half of TSW consider this a victory) the other half are upset we don't get better draft choices while still missing the playoffs.
  14. Frankly, I could care less WHERE they decide to use Schobel. If this organization is competent they will find a way to use his talent even if they have to alter the scheme a little in order to maximize his potential. Schobel is a talented player who has been to the pro-bowl because of his abilities. The coaching staff certainly is aware of this and wherever he ends up, it will help our defense. That being said I hope he has the ability to play as an outside linebacker
  15. As a means to improve our team we look for specific areas of weaknesses. The fact that tackle is arguably our least talented position and comparatively is the worst position we have. That being said, you are correct losing Jason Peters cost us 1 game at most. Of course we also need to consider why we lost the games who on the team could excel with better talent around while we need to figure out who just is not good enough to succeed with the right scheme and abilities. Maybe if we were to improve our LT position then our Guards would look even better and suddenly our line would go from terrible to average. Who knows? I sure don't.
  16. This really has the potential to be it's own thread. Have we already had an anti-decade team for 2000-2009? As for worst player I'm gonna go with Tim Euhus...he always had a low madden rating.
  17. What? You want to get rid of all this high motor TSW talent? We're in a transition here and I seriously doubt you could find enough free agents to improve the 75% loss of us.......well I suppose I should ask do you work at a school, or a farm?
  18. True, however just about anywhere is nearer to Texas than Buffalo. How much does Schobel think in terms of relativity?
  19. Yes and now that we are practicing as a 3-4 Trent will be much better at reading the defense pre-snap, since it seems that when he does that he plays his best.
  20. Well, to be fair McGee went to the probowl for returning kicks.
  21. Sounds great, let's hope that it pans out in the same way and that Ralph and the fans (us) are patient in letting this happen....if it happens.
  22. "We've been dull for 10 years . . . no excitement. We've got to create some excitement.'' -Ralph Wilson
  23. They even beat us at taking secondary with first round draft picks!
  24. How often will he be able to break a tackle?
  25. What have been the most trades that have occurred in the first round of a draft? It seems this year is setting a new record.
