  1. I don't know about you all, but I'm seeing a team that is gradually getting better throughout this season. The Bills just beat up KS(yes, I know they lost). With a win, they would have won the last 4 out of 5 games. That's a pretty damn good run. The defense has been on a serious tear. The offense aside from this latest issue in the red zone has been pretty efficient. The run game took a big step forward with some very impressive blocking up front. The OL held a KS team with one of the NFLs best pass rushes to just 1 sack. I see a bunch of people ready to hang it up, now. Pft!!! This is the team that nobody wants to play right now and they are only getting better. I say bring on the next opponent and that includes Denver and Green Bay. Miami is going to get spanked. That means we can go into a NE game 4-1 in the division with a chance to go 5-1. Also, 6 of our next 7 opponents are all AFC. That gives us an opportunity to rack up some conference wins too. There is a lot of football left to play, but a lot of people are acting like the Bills need a lot of help to get to the playoffs. I say the Bills are pretty munch in control of their own destiny still.
  2. I actually think Mile High late in the season would be great for this team. Old Peyton looks pretty bad in cold weather. I think our D might just take over that game. The games that make me nervous are hot teams like Mia and Cle. Watching how NE's defense really kept Manning from getting anything going makes me think that a Buffalo D might put the ca-bash on a Denver division title.
  3. Sammy and Fred looking good....
  4. Sure about that? CJ would be huge against this non run stopping KC D. KC is too aggressive and fails big time at gap control. Even Boobie will get his today.
  5. That's the spirit! The same can be said about this Bills team.
  6. Throw on 1st or second down. That will totally catch them off guard.
  7. I think this has a lot to do with it. Sometimes coaches will make the players do the hard things over and over in an effort to make them better. Could the coach mix things up and do things that make the line more tricky....yes. Marone, I think is very old school. He doesn't want his linemen taking the easy path. He wants them to learn to be a strong unit instead of just tricking defenses like Gailey did. This does not happen over night. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of repetition. We all have seen some bad play early this season and now we are very critical of every bad play. The OL is young and we are quick to believe that these are just scrubs at their respective positions, but that may not be the case. When we see the offense run up the middle over and over, we are seeing a coaching staff adamant about establishing the run even if it is the difficult thing to do. We are also very critical of the play calling in this respect. One thing I do know. When Kyle Orton does drop back to pass, he is very efficient and we are all of a sudden converting some big 3rd downs. When they do pass on 1st or 2nd down(believe it or not, we actually have done this, even if it does not seem like it) and have been very successful. This team is running to set up the pass and it's working. The coaching staff is taking a lot of criticism. The OL is taking a lot of criticism, but I think they are sticking to their plan because they are seeing some results. Over the last couple of games, I have seen some improved line play. Many of us here are simply not seeing it. The line is still making it's mistakes and that is very much the focus. What we should be looking for is improvement. These guys have been picking up stunts. They have been opening holes on run plays. There really has been noticeable improvement, but many simply are not seeing it. This game coming up is going to be a good test for this young OL. Kansas can really get after the passer, but they are also caught being overly aggressive a lot. Their run defense is terrible because they are bringing the heat on every play and often ignore gap responsibility. I believe the Kansas defense can be exploited. The Bills OL has been working hard and this could be a big game for them to have a coming out party. I think the coaches could be right for sticking to their plan. Sometimes having a plan does not mean the results are immediate. Maybe it's not about a bigger is better philosophy. Maybe it's about working toward being a dominant group.
  8. I think the best, most awesome scenario would be for the Bills to somehow fix their OL problems in the second half of this season and control their own destiny. While it certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Dolphins/Jets win, the Patriots lose, Colts lose this week, it would be sooo much better if the Bills go on a win streak. Beat KS, Miami, Jets and Browns then we are doing something. At that point we would be 9 - 3. The remaining games: At Denver Green Bay At Oakland At New England This is a tough stretch with 3 of the final 4 games on the road. Win one of these and we likely get a wildcard. Win 2 and we likely win the division. Now that would be sweet.
  9. I know! The Pats still have to play Broncos, Colts, Lions, Packers, Chargers, Dolphins, Jets, Buffalo. There's even a chance that the Bills could go into the final game against the Pats not even needing a win to take the division.
  10. This is definitely a part of the equation. How much of it, remains to be seen. Orton might just be enjoying the hell out of having a real superstar to throw to....something he may not have ever had in his career.
  11. That's what they said about the last game.
  12. He's on a 2 yr contract. I think he likes winning.
  13. I think it was the 1st offensive play, I saw both TE's, one on each side of the formation slip out to run a route without even bothering to chip block. The result was a defender left unchecked and completely free to go after Orton. That really blew my mind. And then they continued to do that throughout the game. Orton is going to get killed. The OLmen, I actually thought did decent against powerful DLmen. They were even picking up some stunts perfectly. The edges were awful though, leaving LBs a free for all on our QB. I want to go back and look at the game again....maybe I am not remembering this right.
  14. That's the kind of outside the box thinking I like. Hairston actually did a good job at LT a couple of years ago too. Glenn graded very high as a guard coming out of college and the pundits were surprised when the Bills made him a tackle. This does make sense and the only reason anyone would be against it is because he is such a great tackle and because it might be detrimental to Glenn's sensibilities.
  15. Everyone keeps saying we only bring a 4 man rush.....sometimes only 3. This game, the blitz was coming from a number of different positions. Something to look forward to?
  16. We did blitz more than just the front four in this game. Not sure how many times, but they were dialing up blitz a lot.
  17. Umm....4 of those 17 pass attempts were TDs.
  18. I think that may be the only rushing TD all season so far. Maybe 2nd?
  19. I think the TEs will be a big part of the game plan this week. The Bills have been using 2 and 3 TE sets with some success and the Jests are getting burned by TEs a lot. Woohoo!
  20. I've always felt that defense wins championships and that the DLine is where you want to be dominant. That said, it's no surprise that McCoy is getting so much. The Bills will likely offer a healthy contract to resign Dareus. The big question is does Dareus look for the biggest pay day or does he really want to be here. I don't know. The Bills may feel it's necessary to match what the market is dictating or not. All I know is the McCoy contract puts more pressure on the front office. Ultimately, It will likely come down to Pegula deciding if he wants to spend that much on him.
  21. Hmm....what would you think of the record if it was Buffalo's QB breaking it?
