  1. ^Truth^. Teenagers today often think they are way more entitled than what they actually are to start with. Then when they know they can get into trouble with mom & dad, will make up a story to try and keep from getting into trouble. Gotta hear both sides of the story and frankly, a misdemeanor charge is probably not going to amount to much.
  2. I'm glad someone included Steve Tasker. Loved watching him play. The most fearless gunner I've ever seen.
  3. All these 4 game suspensions are coming just in time. Now Brady can't say his punishment is too harsh.
  4. There were what, 9-10 sacks in that game?
  5. The eligible, ineligible game is what has makes Brady look like a world beater at QB. The cheaters are preventing the defense from knowing who to cover on any given pass play. It's always been illegal, but the rule change is now making it a 5yd penalty which doesn't make sense to me. If it was illegal to begin with, shouldn't it have been a penalty anyway? Eligible receivers lining up as ineligible and ineligible receivers lining up as eligible should all ready have been a penalty of some sort! If nothing else, it should be an illegal formation.
  6. This is a bunch of BS. If a team attempts to pressure a QB but they aren't very good at it, the QB can take advantage. However, if you have a front 7 like Buffalo, there isn't a QB in this league, you don't go after. In fact, if you are on a Rex Ryan coached defense, you blitz a lot and from many different angles and personel. Ryan has been doing that for years and has successfully gotten to QBs that typically are good at dealing with pressure. Watch what Robey does this year. This defense is going to be sick this year. QBs are going to dread playing Buffalo.
  7. Nice topic. One of the things I find interesting is that the Bills defense is built to stop the pass. Passing teams are not going to win unless they can run too. The Bills have a reputation over the last couple of years for getting after the passer. Teams are going to be reluctant to put their franchise QBs out there too much. I see teams trying to run against us a lot this year so it will be interesting. Keeping that in mind, a control the clock kind of game would play very nicely into our hands. Run and stop the run will work, but from what I am hearing, our receivers are on a mission to become the best route runners in the league. They are also changing up where they line up. Every receiver, TE and RB is lining up in a different spot each play. The offense is looking to surprise us this year. I am expecting a leap forward in the passing game as well. Most of the talk is about the QB, but few teams are building a better all around team. It's going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out. That could also be a problem for Buffalo if they ever find a franchise QB. We have spent a lot of money building a team around the QB. If one of the QB's currently on the team becomes that guy, that payday will come sooner rather than later. If one is drafted the date will back up a bit. Overall though, I am pretty excited about this year.
  8. Ha ha. I knew someone would respond with this when I posted this. You win the Boobie Prize.
  9. Some of the other coaches are pretty good too. McDonald went to the probowl 5 times in his career as a safety. He knows a thing or two about the position. Donnie Henderson has also been around for a long time. He was a DB coach for the Jets in 2004-2005. He later worked for Detriot and was actually thought highly of since he was named defensive coordinator(didn't last long was fired....Detroit went 3-13). He then went back to a defensive backs coach position for Arizona. Later Henderson coached at Syracuse and came to Buffalo with Marone. Rex likes him too and he is still here. Our back field is not only talented, but the coaches are pretty good too. There are some other coaches that have a good chance of advancing their careers. Two come from coaching families. Tony Sporano is our TE's coach. His father(I'm sure some of you have heard of him) has coached for many years and happens to know a lot about coaching TE's. His son is following in his dad's footsteps and though he doesn't have a lot of experience, you can bet he will get some this year. In Greg Roman's offense the TE is going to be used in ways we are not used to seeing. The other name Is Bobby April III. He's a LB coach who followed Rex here from the Jets. Last year DAVID HARRIS, DEMARIO DAVIS and CALVIN PACE, all set career numbers. That was Bobby's 1st year as a LBs coach after serving as a quality control assistant the year before. Obviously, Ryan, Roman, Thurman and Kromer are going to get a lot of attention. But there is another coach that was retained after Marone left and a lot of us thought he was going to stink. He's so far proved us wrong and is in a good position to improve even further this year. His name is Danny Crossman. I expect the Bills will lead the league on special teams this coming season. BTW, good post, OP!!!
  10. And you were surprised when your wife was upset that you got here a rubber warm water bottle for your anniversary?
  11. ^^^ This ^^^ However, Buffalo has 3 other DLmen capable of double digit sack seasons. They can still make the Colts pick their poison on who to block. Plus, we know Rex Ryan is going to bring the blitz from unknown places. Make no mistake. Luck will be running for his life. I have a hunch Luck won't know what hit him.
  12. The Bills have 2 very good WR coaches on the team. Not to mention some other very good coaches. Buffalo is a coaching intern's heaven. This is not just Buffalo. It is the place to be.
  13. Don't forget the recent rule change on substitutions. Patriots were testing the officials in that regard too. The entire culture is to get away with everything they can, even if it is an unfair advantage.
  14. Can't see Marone or Hackett trying anything even remotely like that. I honestly think Marone thought he was doing the team a favor trying to teach OLmen the same way he was. Those schemes that Roman used are not really anything new but what they are is a matchup problem for defenses. Marone was determined to play a game that may have worked when he was a player but is now too easy to defend. I always liked creative blocking schemes. I remember the days of a bruising FB crashing down on a DLine hearing that unforgettable sound just before a RB slipped through and took one to the house. Today the FB/RB combo isn't used as much. HBs are now used because they are more versatile. What Roman was successful with is using a combination of different players..... HB/FB/TE/OLman. The point is, he is capitalizing on different matchups. Going to be an interesting year for sure. Successful blocking can improve the run and the pass....provide our offense with a nice balanced attack.
  15. I would not be all right. I would not have the character that I have today without learning from loss and I would not want to be like the Pats fans are acting right now. It's embarrassing. I am seeing a lot of people in denial over this thing. For them I feel sorry for. But the ones who know that it is cheating and still don't care? Can't say I feel sorry for them at all. The game should always be played on a level field. Neither side cheating, and everything should be left out on the field so that when every player has left the game, they know where they stand. Anything less than that is a detriment to the sport and jeopardizes the integrity of the game. Anyone who strives every day to be their best deserves to have that level field.
  16. Roman has also been known to put additional OLmen on the field. Now just imagine a 300+ pounder throwing one of those blocks.
  17. Nice find Yolo. Finally, someone talking about football. I think Felton can lay the lumber on Suh better than Clay. JMO.
  18. Bellycheat was very quick to talk to Brady and then make him tell the whole team that he had no knowledge of what was going on. He has been around accusations before and knew that he had to distance himself as quickly as possible. What better way than than to step in front of the entire team and declare the whole situation is preposterous and make Brady declare the same, in front of everyone. Bellycheat is not getting away scott free here. And neither is the NE organization.
  19. I have a feeling camp will start and after the coaches start seeing all of the weapons, our offense isn't going to look anything like the 9er's. We have deep threats all over the place. We have have TEs that are matchup nightmares. And our RBs are really good. Add in a productive fullback and the fact that Roman isn't afraid to put additional OLmen on the field, the offense has the makings to be very successful. Our QBs are not going to be clones of what Keap. did in SF. That is the one big question mark. We may not have the greatest QBs, but they certainly are not going to be set up to fail like last year.
  20. Yea, just saw this posted on twitter by Rodent.
  21. Not only that, and nobody seems to have picked up on how crafty Rex was, by waiting for his family to show up before having dinner. Collins will obviously make the final decision on where to go but not without some family influence. Brilliant!
  22. We picked up 2 QBs in FA and EJ still might make something of himself. It's not like the front office ignored the position. A lot of people keep harping on this but to keep using picks on QBs that don't pan out has a cost. It is far better to take a player you are certain at least has a good chance to make the team. Honestly, I have doubts that the 2 top QBs taken in this draft could even start this year, on this team. We have Matt, EJ and Tyrod. ALL three have potential. It's almost as if people want to completely ignore everything other than the QB position in hopes of finally finding their Russel Wilson. "This is a team sport yet nothing matters but QB." Get real!!! This isn't the draft that any of us envisioned. I get that. The sky isn't falling though. We are just going to have to roll with what we got.
  23. Exactly. Fred is going to make the young guys better. Competition is never a bad thing.
  24. I don't think there is a QB in this entire draft capable enough to beat out what we have on our roster. I also think Polian is getting old and is losing his touch.
