This is going to be a key improvement area this season. The offense could actually be much better than last year. -

Next up is Gilmore. Taylor will happen soon enough. -
TOD 7/17: Are we too accepting as fans?
Rockinon replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too accepting? That's ridiculous. What do you prefer? That we all go to the stadium and boo them until they leave? -

What is Gilmore actually worth to the Bills....
Rockinon replied to billrooter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not? Big fat signing bonus but the big salary cap hit doesn't have to hit until next year. This is true. Some do have a "sophomore" slump. Could happen, but I am not seeing it. The whole secondary I think feed off of each other. I think they were communicating much better toward the end of last season. I'd really hate to see them broken up just when they started getting good as a unit. Regardless of whether you think Gilmore is top 10 or not, he is definitely a key piece in a very good secondary. -

I see no reason why the Bills can't get contracts done with both Gilmore and Taylor. Gilmore's cap hit this year is 11 million. By signing him with guaranteed money this year would likely save a large portion of that 11 million. Money that can be used to get Taylor signed as well. All they have to do is give Gilmore the vet minimum this year along with a signing bonus of guaranteed money. The remainder of his contract will pay a bigger salary but this year, the Bills save on money that counts against the cap. Taylor could also be signed to a new contract before the season is over, some of which will come from the money the Bills save by only paying Gilmore the vet minimum for this year. -

MMQB Profile of Marquise Goodwin
Rockinon replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Football isn't my 1st love either. Way too much on crap flying around and with no real proof to back up allegations. Goodwin had a chance to represent the entire country. That would be a huge honor. That still doesn't take away from his desire to play for the Bills. People seriously need to lighten up. Really gets on my nerves when folks act like everything is in black & white. The real truth often isn't so easy to pin down. -
Fitz calls his shot -Update Signed w/Jets
Rockinon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a hunch that Chan Gailey will get some production out of Geno. He was named starter last year ahead of Fitz and Gailey is very familiar with Fitz. Gailey has a history of making nobody QBs into decent starters. -
Marquise Goodwin Listed on SI's 50 Fittest List
Rockinon replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's ridiculous. Becoming an Olympian and possibly winning the Gold is far from a hobby. It's a dream. He's pitting himself against the best the entire world has to offer. That is not something you can just give up on. -

He's an Olympian. That is a life long dream that many will never achieve. You don't just throw away a dream like that. Not only that, his wife is an Olympian. He definitely has his priorities strait. Not so sure about some of the posters on this board though. Just don't get the negativity. It's sad to see. -
No matter what this season will be a success.

Do you agree w/Skurski that it's time for McCoy to talk?
Rockinon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Read that article and thought good lord these media guys are like vultures circling. McCoy doesn't have to say anything. The media is going to blow a bunch of smoke up everyone's arses either way. I say screw 'em. -

Doom articles in the buffalo media are driving me nuts.

I love it. If I were on the team right now I would be on a mission to make the media and the negative ninnies eat their words. -
MMQB: Rex + Rob: The Battling (and Babbling) Buffalo Bros
Rockinon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hit the nail on the head. I grew up on sports....a lot of them, and there is no room for negativity in the game. It's all about believing. You set a goal. You go after it. You imagine yourself doing what you could never do before and work toward that end. Negativity in sports is a cancer that grows and destroys your resolve. Sorry, but I never would have broken our H.S. track team's 400 hurdles record at 54.6 seconds or run a mile in less than 4mins 30secs if I did anything other than believe. This is true of any sport. Gotta have that mindset. Trash talkers love to harp on what you can't do, until you actually do it. Wouldn't have it any other way though. That's the whole reason I love the game. The challenge drove me. As a fan, it inspires me. Even now at age 52, I still love a challenge. Don't have the speed I used to but I toss a mean horseshoe. -
Bills' 2016 Organized Team Activities - Week 3
Rockinon replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry to hear that, Astrobot. But I am not so sure the media was doing their job in the first place. Those guys have been marketing themselves with over-the-top commentary for years. Free speech hasn't been taken away from them since the Bill's(a privately owned organization) does not have to release any news at all. Of course they won't help their own marketing that much if no one can report on them. I see this as a short term trial, anyway. The media though, has a responsibility to report the news accurately but instead use their power to prop themselves up. We want the news, but we don't really need their often inaccurate opinions and their need to drum up blog hits. -
Bills have new media reporting guidelines
Rockinon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I think the local media deserve the treatment. We need reporters that simply report the news and don't get caught up with trying to speculate where performances will lead to a starting position or a whether the Bills are hurting in a particular area, etc. They should merely report what they see and nothing more. These guys have been reporting a bunch of nonsense and then patting each other on the back for stories that are further over the top than ever before. It's as if they are marketing themselves at the expense of true reporting. I am not worried at all over this. Training camp will be open soon and news will come out. The media is acting all butt hurt over this but who is going to keep their shenanigans in check if left to say what ever they want without consequence? If folks can't see the sorry state of propaganda coming from our news outlets these days, they really aught to try opening their eyes. The media is all about themselves and not the actual news itself. Why do you think they want to turn this into a circus now? -
Carucci thinks right side could be worse
Rockinon replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, but Taylor also had one of the highest yards per catch totals too. He was trowing some bombs and that doesn't happen when you are simply trying to move the chains. The Bills like stretching the field vertically. Actually their run 1st tendencies often sucked the defense in close to the line of scrimmage and then the pass would go over the top. There are a lot of reasons why Taylor led the league in holding the ball. Some of that can also be attributed to the OL holding up for him. Many factors to consider.
