You're right about containing Jackson, and forcing him to throw. But that isn't a bad thing against our defense. Remember our D excels against the pass. We can lean on our secondary to stop the pass. The #1 objective is closing rushing lanes and keeping Lamar bottled up. Also have to be prepared for the option plays they run. Don't be fooled by the misdirection run plays like we were killed on against the Eagles. Don't get me wrong. This team is dangerous. No one is running the ball better. That has to be shut down first. Lamar can still hurt teams passing, but his chances diminish against our secondary. On offense, I'd like to see them keeping the best players on the field. All of the swapping of players and trickery are just asking for false start penalties and such. Let Josh mix in hurry up and continue with the 400+ yard offensive production we have been seeing the past few weeks. Baltimore is best at stopping the run so perhaps the passing percentage should tick up a bit. Nothing too extreme. Still have to run so we give the defense some variety to think about. We want to draw the Ravens into thinking it's going to be a run to help out the passing game. They are vulnerable against the pass. This could finally be Josh's big 300yd game.

Your Favorite Allen Play from T-day?

That scramble for a TD was pretty sweet too. Josh rolls out to the right, pump fakes, freezes the defender, then takes off for the endzone. -
Josh Allen - week TWELVE report card

Yea, that kinda sucked. I just happened to be paying attention during the play. Was wishing I could see it again myself. -
Josh Allen - week TWELVE report card

Josh faked a handoff to the RB on the play. Literally had to rip the ball out of the RBs hands. I was thinking his grip on the ball was not right when he let loose that errant pass. Just speculation. It was a horrible floater which is highly unusual for him. Whatever the reason, not really worried, seemed kinda fluky. -

Nope. Just Dom. It's a rather expensive spiced liquor. Made by Monks. Good stuff. -

I was watching the Eagles game and they threw a lot of misdirection at us in the run game at least until the second half(then the Bills defense was clearly gassed and they just ran strait up the middle). It will be interesting to see what Cleveland does. They can try to pass on us but the Bills defense is very good at stopping that. I expect them to run but Buffalo has been good against the run mostly and not nearly as bad as Cleveland's run D. I expect to see both teams trying to exploit the run defense. Run and stop the run. Both teams will be doing that IMO. Cleveland I think is going to be more under the gun to make up the difference in the pass game is how I see it, and that is only going to play into Buffalo's hands. Listening to their QB say they have to try to force the ball to OBJ though.... could be I'm off the mark here. If that's their plan, they will go down just like they did against NE and San Fran. Buffalo is very good at neutralizing the pass game. Just don't see this as the game that we stumble on. Gore and Singletary are going to feast. Alan has been working hard at his shorter routes and has been doing a pretty decent job. 3rd downs will be important, but I'm still seeing an advantage for Buffalo. Cleveland is going to struggle unless they can get their own run game rolling. Could happen, but most of the advantages are on our side. BTW, I think Cleveland's problem with the pass game is that they do not have team players. OBJ would be doing better if the other WR's were downfield opening things up for him. You have to force the safeties into choosing who to cover. The way they are playing, we could very well end up with a couple of picks.

ha ha. Was in a hurry and had to get back to work. Thanks though.?

Lot of people are worried about losing do to the Brown's run game. I think they have it backwards. The Browns 30th ranked run defense is going to lose do to the Bill's rushing game. They won't be able to stop it.

Defense doing better. Maybe we won't need to score 30. Still, would be nice. -

Bork didn't bork the punt. He's the hero so far. -
Against a Bills defense that does not give up big plays. Could be some interceptions in this game, especially if Buffalo pulls out to an early lead and they have to throw to catch up.

Pregame thread MNF: Pats at Jets
Rockinon replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Jets come out fighting like Miami did yesterday, it could happen. Just wish I could put my finger on how good the Bills actually are. Can they compete with the Cowboys, Ravens, Colts? Glad we have had this easy early schedule to get some reps in first. -
With everyone back form injury, I am absolutely expecting a blowout win. Miami is among the worst defenses in the league, plus they are beat up. They can't stop the pass. They can't stop the run. In fact, there is no excuse for not hanging 30-40pts on this JV team.

I'm OK standing pat. The only way I would bother acquiring new talent is if the player is young and has the potential to be great. Some of these big names drag down the amount of money we'll have for future players. Getting someone for a year might be OK because it won't hurt us long term, but I don't see that happening. What I especially don't want to do is mortgage the future for short term results by giving up draft picks. The draft is where we need talent to come from because they are young and because their contract is manageable.
