Jacksonville is the #1 rated pass defense and the #19 rated run defense. We can beat them by running the ball and taking limited shots downfield passing. This is a winnable game. We just need to do what we did against the Jets who are the #20 run defense. The passing game will be utilized by taking shots with our newly acquired speedsters. We just resigned another one this week. Allen is mobile enough to avoid the rush and connect with one of these guys and that's all it will take to make the defense respect the pass. They can't cover all of them and to me, it was very clear that Allen needs a speedster to succeed. He had none who could get separation to begin with. Now he'll have 3 guys who can get behind the defense. These shots will be limited but necessary to back the D off of the LOS. And winning this game will be won by running the ball. I don't know about making it to the playoffs, but the next game is clearly winnable. Jacksonville is very good at disrupting the passing game, but that is really the only thing they have going for them. Allen can also run. He has shown that often all ready. I think he is also the right choice to start against this team.

Bills Sign WR Deonte Thompson to a 1-Year Deal
Rockinon replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I'm just relieved that we got some speed on offense. Both are fast and their output accounted for a significant amount of yardage. Not saying one guy is better than the other. Just glad these guys showed up and produced. -

Not quite. McKenzie also added a bunch of yds on kick returns. He actually had more yds. -
The addition speed to the offense changes a lot. Defenders can no longer key in and know the play before it happens. Stretching the field makes them spread out. Also, all of those option plays are wreaking havoc. Those jet sweep plays where a guy sprints across the backfield, freezes the D because they don't know if the QB will hand it off to the jet, delay hand off to a RB or drop back and pass. Daboll did a phenomenal job against the Jets. Adding 2 speed guys also keeps the defense from crowding the line. This gives Shady some room to do his thing. It's not rocket science and it's not too complex for the players. It's just putting them in a better position to succeed. I think they just figured a couple of things out and it paid off in a big way last Sunday.

2 consecutive games where the D held opponent to under 200yds of offense. I think it may actually put the defense in 1st place. So at least an honorable mention to the boys on that side of the ball. This is the 1st game all year that the offense actually looked competent for 4qtrs, so I get how everyone is excited there but the D has been balling all year and deserve the recognition.

GB literally looks more like Swiss cheese than cheddar with all the holes in their roster. -
I know everyone wants to see our new QB throw. Like having the keys to a brand new car, you want to drive, dammit. But GB has the 27th ranked run defense. This is a game where we need to pound the rock. Not saying we won't pass, but getting a good mixing of rushing downs in could really cripple this defense. This is a perfect opponent to establish a run game and then go over the top with the pass.

Who starts @ GB- Ryan Lewis or Philip Gaines?

https://twitter.com/buffalobills/status/1046421982504464384/photo/1 Off of injured reserve, but still wearing brace. I think they just want to let him heal more. The brace probably is a hindrance. -

Gaines is still wearing a brace. So, inactive. -
Bills First Offensive Play Tomorrow Will Be...
Rockinon replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen drops back to pass. Nobody open but there is space up the middle. 5yds upfield is a waiting LB. This time Allen lowers the boom and plows ahead for 3 more yds. 8yd pick up and the whole offense is lit by their fearless leader. Bills jump out to another 17pt lead by the end of the 1st Qtr. Lambeau Field is cold, wet and the fans are demoralized. Sorry, GB fans. I like you but your playing the Bills now. -

ACME Packing Co. article I couldn't help but laugh when I read this. If this is what the Packers are thinking, they are going to get rolled. -
Against a Pettine D.....not a chance.

Green Bay's OL is banged up. Another 40 pressures please.

I think folks should go back to preseason game 1 and look at how well the offense moved the ball. They were using a lot of pre-snap motion, never giving the defense the same look and basically kept them on their heels. After that 1st game, they never did it again throughout the preseason. I have a sneaking suspicion that the offense is going to be pretty good. While everyone is focused on the OL looking poor without a legit LT and moving Groy around to guard and center, it certainly looked like a tire fire. I'm kind of thinking that the OL is better than all the talk. Not that I think they are great, but perhaps surprisingly good. Bucky Brooks has always been a hot take kind of guy. He'll never even get called out when he's proven wrong. Just another day in Bills land.

Predict Nathan Petermen's stats Game 1
Rockinon replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People just can't get that 1st game of his outta their heads. 25/35 317yds 3 TDs, 0 Int -
Josh has been pretty good through out the preseason. I like a lot of what he has done. But watching Peterman get rid of the ball so quickly was rather surprising. He was finding open receivers more quickly. Josh is doing a great job, but he still needs to polish up his quick hit reads. I think he has made tremendous strides but just isn't quite there yet. If you would have told me that Peterman would be leading the QB battle at this point a couple of months ago, I probably would have laughed at you. He has been very impressive in all three games so far, though. Sure hope we get our OL straitened out soon. It was down right painful watching JA get blown up before he was even finished dropping back in some cases. Perhaps the OL began to correct some things by the time Peterman came in, but it looked to me like he was also helping himself out by getting the ball out very quickly. Although, it didn't really look like JA was holding the ball that long(That line was terrible), I think he was just a tad slower getting the ball out than NP. I know JA is going to start at some point. I just don't see it happening week 1. I think perhaps Peterman is trusting his receivers to be where they are supposed to be and letting it rip. And maybe Josh isn't quite that far along in the process. At this point I think NP is out in 1st place.
