  1. The ***Pats left McKenzie uncovered for a lot of that game, keeping two high safeties in order to stop the big plays. It didn't work out for them. If they try to cover him up close to the line of scrimmage, that is only going to give another receiver an advantage. If they attempt to play zone, Beasely can take over the game. They should put Beasley and McKenzie on the field at the same time. Josh can determine whether it's zone or man presnap. If it's zone, throw to Beasley. If it's man, throw to McKenzie. Can't stop this. If they attempt some weird kind of coverage scheme, there is Diggs, Sanders, Knox and Davis. And the threat of the run. NE is going to get schooled. The NFL has become a passing league. Even the rules overwhelmingly protect the passing game. NE is very much under the gun here. Wouldn't surprise me if Sanders has a big game this time. NE very much wanted stop Diggs last game and as a result, McKenzie went off. They just can't cover every scenario. I see NE attempting to disguise what type of coverage and play a mixture of zone and man. I think they'll send pass rushers after Allen this time. Thing is, they just don't have enough talent to stop what is coming.
  2. Just thinking about the mindset of players. I can recall a couple of games early this year the team had some games where it seemed the players have no issue with believing in themselves. They would fall behind and it seemed they were refusing to panic. The game on the line and that sense of urgency wasn't there. Sometimes, there is something to it when coaches talk about staying humble but in Buffalo's case I don't think that is quite it. They believed they could come back and win some of those games but a combination of poor execution and other teams becoming familiar with ours kind of took it's toll. I believe this team is as good as any, but just needs to keep that sense of urgency going. They thought they could win by just executing their game plan. Sometimes, you just have to take chances. A blitz, a shot downfield...even a running play can be a risk. Thing is, there are moments in a game where you have to throw the game plan out the window and try something else. No team is so good that they can just do the same thing over and over and then expect it to work. I've seen some new things happening the last few weeks that are encouraging. Singletary running better is good to see. Allen running more. This week, I expect to see a lot of passing. The Bills are getting better at mixing things up. Those play action passes after a successful run have been lethal. Even the defense is doing some things. I'm recalling an interview of Ed Oliver a couple of weeks ago. He said that he is just going off, and not thinking as much. He hasn't been able to do that because last year he couldn't play 3tech the way it should be played. Heck, he even had to play 1tech for part of the season. This year, he's finding his wings at his natural position. It's been a fascinating year. Then you've got CB's out there holding their own with White out for the rest of the year. That urgency is back. Much of this game is instinct. I think what we are seeing the last few games is a result of thinking less and guys simply allowing their god given ability to take over.
  3. Their point differential points to being stronger too. Really looking forward to the playoffs. The Bills should fear no one.
  4. The voting should be strictly based on performance. Everything woke goes to s**t.
  5. It seems to me, as big as Josh is, he's the one dishing out punishment when he runs. And I am not a big fan of sliding. Josh nearly got his head pounded the one time he did slide in the game. He was way more effective when he kept running.
  6. Only team that scares me is Indy. And Tenn if they get their RB back. Hope those two play each other...lol. Don't like teams that have a really strong running game and are also dangerous passing. They also have pretty good defenses. My hope is that Buffalo can get some momentum on offense and that the D gets tougher to run on. This has been a weird year for sure. The inconsistency of this team is crazy. But they're in. The slate will be clean come playoff time and it's a good time to be a Bills fan.
  7. Yep, playing in the snow is a whole other animal. You can use that to your advantage, and I think over time the WR's will figure it out. They should practice outdoors in these elements occasionally.
  8. I'm really not worried about Stevenson. Tackler was able to spear the ball with his helmet on that play. Only gripe I have with him is he is tentative. He's a rookie and just needs to gain more confidence. The kid is taking a beating because he doesn't cut confidently and is getting creamed. He's got the speed. He just needs to use his vision better and without the tentative crap. What I don't like seeing is dropping the ball.
  9. There was one instance where an Atlanta wide receiver was lined up over the line of scrimmage and it never got called too.
  10. Yes, the DBs on defense were disrupting routes and playing aggressive. The WRs are used to being able to make sharp cuts to counter but they are limited on a slippery turf.
  11. Two receivers with 100yds?
  12. Like take the handoff and never hesitate to run into a pile of defenders?
  13. I expect to see Gilliam in a lead blocking role mostly, but he can occasionally leak out for a reception. I believe his biggest benefit will be giving Singletary a little more space to cut up field.
  14. Gilliam can play not only play FB but also TE.
  15. No need, now that Gilliam is back.
  16. We could go with 6 OL men occasionally. Think I read somewhere that we've done that in previous games.
  17. Well yes. He's got to stick with the narrative.
  18. If BB thinks we only have one good WR, he'll double Diggs. We still have Knox. We still have other WRs. And Allen can still get the ball to any of them. Singletary is also a passing option. Running the ball is still an option. Plenty of ways to skin this cat.
  19. Prefer to see Singletary get the majority of carries. He has been successful running off tackle and getting to the perimeter. He does a better job of using his blockers. Another thing the Bills have completely stopped doing is allow Allen to, by design roll out, on pass plays. Defenses early in the season were sending extra rushers from the edges to deter this. But now would be a good time to sneak a couple of those in. Josh should run occasionally too. Get the run going any way they can and then play action pass to freeze defenders just long enough for a nice chunk pass play. This offense has the tools to pull ahead. All they have to do is go out there and execute. I'd also like to see some presnap movement to help confuse the defense. They don't need to get carried away with it, just mix things up and keep that NE D guessing. Have a hunch we are going to see a very different game from the last one. NE was fortunate in that last game, but their luck just ran out. Every player has a little more steam in their engines after losing that last one. Bank on it.
  20. I watched that last game as the Bills entered the red zone twice as many times as NE. That was a game the Bills should have won. The offense was clearly limited by what they could do because of wind conditions. Add in the bad taste the Bills have in their mouths over that game and you are going to see a very different outcome in this game. Toward the end of that game, the offense began passing more frequently with success. I believe the Bills will overcome the refs, overcome whatever the NE D throws at them. Might even be a bloodbath game where Belichick is throwing stuff in anger again. He was lucky the weather gave him an edge in the last game. Ain't happening this time. They play smart football, but there are no lockdown corners on that team. There are no super stars. The quality of the players will be inevitable. I see two stingy defenses and only one offense that is capable of taking a defense to the woodshed.....and ain't NE's.
  21. Just read an article about Buffalo's run game. They have been very effective on 1st down, the last couple of weeks. Averaging over 5yds last week and over 10 the week before. Good sign. Buffalo doesn't need a juggernaut run game, just for it to be effective and a threat. This opens up passing plays too. In the last game nobody wanted to pass because of the very windy weather. That is Buffalo's strength on offense and wind won't be a factor. They are learning to set up pass plays better with the way defenses are playing them now. Really don't see NE holding Buffalo to under 20pts. Probably not even 30. On the flip side, I do see Buffalo holding NE to less than 20. NE has a good D, but they can't stop what is coming. My prediction: 36 - 13 Buffalo The Bills are pissed and it shows in this one.
  22. It'll certainly be a very high percentage of run plays. Only passing enough to keep our D off balance. On the flip side, the Bills will pass significantly more frequently. I don't expect the wind to be as much of a factor, so both teams will pass more than the last one. But the Pats* game plan will be a heavy dose of running. That was a weird game a couple weeks ago. The Bills, while passing more, won't abandon the run. They really need the run to set up that play action against this team. They are also good at limiting pass plays, but it's strength against strength. I think the Patriots are going to get a wake up call in this one. Buffalo's offense is going to score more. A lot more.
  23. I like Brown. Love his attitude. Just needs to keep his head and stop making dumb mistakes. I'd like to see him block for Singletary more. Pretty sure that Singletary is getting more reps because he is better at running off the tackles. The runs up the middle have not been working at all this year.
  24. Going to be interesting to see who is where on the OL this week. This shuffling around is getting ridiculous. Makes it hard to evaluate players too when they practice one position only to be switched to another every week. If they could just keep the same line-up for a couple of weeks, the run game would improve. Still, all of the rotating is something they have been doing all year. You'd think, eventually they'll have a good game as a unit. They must be getting tired of looking like a steaming pile of s**t every week. Think they come out with an attitude this week.
  25. I believe Singletary is being used more because he is better at attacking the edges rather than the power runs up the middle. I'd like to see the OL not being shuffled around seemingly every week. Then, we might begin to see more success in that running game. The thing that I like about Singletary is he is more patient and is really good at letting his blockers do their job instead of running into a pile of defenders. The downside is that he is often caught in the backfield before he can get going. Much of that is the OL.
