  1. I think with Morse's history of concussions, they have been preparing for this possibility for the last couple of years. They'll be fine.
  2. When the Buffalo offense comes out hot and leaves Miami in the dust, I see a fight breaking out.
  3. Screw that. I want to see Tua on his back multiple times throughout the game.
  4. Jacksonville just did the same thing to the Colts.
  5. I don't think running will be a big part of their game plan with 2 rookie CBs starting. They are going to test those rookies after torching the Ravens rookies last week.
  6. He was ready to play last week. Coach kept him out then. All ready rested an extra week.
  7. Just a side note. McDermott was a defensive coordinator too. Frazier may very well be a great defensive mind, but the Buffalo defense looks much more like the Carolina defense that McDermott ran than the defense that Frazier ran in previous jobs. As far as Frazier going somewhere else, he is getting old. Perhaps, a team will overlook that and hire him. Perhaps not. For now, I'm just happy that he is here.
  8. If Buffalo does what they did to the Titans every week.....score so many points that they can take the starters out by the 4th qtr, receiving the 1st kickoff becomes more important. Also, the Titans are not a bad team. However, they were under duress the entire game because Buffalo just never let off the gas. There are many different ways to look at it. Titans couldn't keep up. They started taking chances and as a result made a lot of mistakes. Also, just because the side that defers is last to receive does not mean they will be the last to possess the ball. So, whoever receives 1st, has a chance to receive 1 more time than the team that defers. Once in the first half, but then the other team has a chance to possess the ball one more time. Personally, I think it averages out. There are arguments for each. I do believe the second half is where you have a clearer picture of who has more talent and who wants it more. I'm not sold though that deferring has any significant advantage. The game is played for 60 minutes. 30 in the 1st half, 30 in the 2nd.
  9. All the games on right now are pretty one sided.
  10. I seem to recall McDermott saying last season or perhaps the season before that the run game needed to improve. At the time the Bills were attempting more of a power rushing attack but it wasn't working. He mentioned that it's not just the running backs that needed to improve. I believe they wanted then to go to more zone blocking but realized they didn't really have the personnel to do it. What we saw late in the season was a 6th offensive lineman come in from time to time. The run game improved toward the end of the season. Now with Kromer, I believe the run game will improve week in and week out as the offensive linemen become more familiar with the blocking schemes. Adding Saffold, I believe was another huge help. The OL as a whole will see a marked improvement this year.
  11. That's the nature of the game. You always try to draw up a great game plan. Sometimes an opposing team is just going to have a better one. Sometimes the opposing team just has great talent too. Yes, there is always a game within the game. Love it when fans recognize it and post it here. Kromer's value as a coach is going to be noticed as the year progresses. He's been around for a long time and his history of success is impressive.
  12. Generally, guys on the offensive line love run blocking. You get to hit instead of just trying to hold your ground while being hit. The movement and the downline blocking gets more guys involved. This is what I love about mixing up zone blocking schemes with power blocking. Clearly, Kromer is making sure every player has an assignment and if you think they look good now, wait a few games into the season and compare. The blocking is only going to get better. Can't wait to see what they do next week.
  13. The way this team just dismantled the defending Superbowl champs, I don't see any more than a couple of losses all season. We'd have to get hit hard by injuries and even then, this team still looks tough. Both offense and defense looked unstoppable Thursday night and they are only going to get better as the season goes on. I look at it this way. If we lost our best defensive player(Von?) could we still win? If we lost Allen on offense, could we still win? I think the answer to both is yes. We have backups all over the place that are good enough to start. For the last couple of years, we have learned that there is not one team out there that the Bills can't beat. Now it appears the team has only gotten better. Yes, the games still have to be played, but I am stoked that the players are not pumping themselves up after this win. Everyone appears to be buying into this system and staying humble, staying focused on the next game coming up. Mark my words, these guys are on a mission. They aren't going to rest until they are hoisting a Lomardi.
  14. This offense is all ready very explosive. They are at their best when they have a single high safety they are going against with the concepts that Dabol created. Our new coordinator is keeping those concepts while taking advantage of Kromer's expertise. Kromer really is a master OL coach and is able to draw one of those safeties up, by merely being effective running the ball. The beauty is, as soon as one of them creeps up, Josh is going to see that and know that he's got them right where he wants them. Single high safety with a WR in single coverage and no safety help. The opposing defense will have to choose their poison. Get run on all game and wear the defense out or take their chances with the deep ball. Either way, it's not a good choice. Defense will have to resort to trickery to disguise what they are doing with the safeties. Teams will need savvy safeties like the two we have. Not a lot of teams have that.
  15. Elam can give them a taste of their own medicine.
  16. If the Rams are pissed at being the underdog, they'll be even more pissed when the Bills jump out to a commanding lead by halftime.
  17. I think it's going to come down to what match ups the coaches think they can exploit. One week we may see an extra running back. The next might be an extra WR. We all ready know how dangerous the passing attack is but there were times when we needed to run more effectively last year. I honestly don't think the offense will change much. Passing is still the bread and butter of this offense. The difference is going to be finding out how effective the running backs can be. Finding out not just how well they can rush, but how well they can receive. The pieces that were added in the off season seem to make it clear that the plan is to simply make the offense more diverse. Right now I think they are concentrating on their Thursday night match up and what they can exploit against the Rams defense. The following week it will be a different game plan.
  18. I thought they had to release three players?
  19. If that carries over to the regular season, defenses are going to be super stressed. Don't give them time to diagnose. That constant pressure along with spreading the ball around to different players will keep them on their heels. Hope it continues.
  20. Defense looked better on that series
  21. Kick off all ready! Can't believe how much I miss football.
