The Bills point total vs the Jags point total
Rockinon replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you add the 59pt differential and the 27pt differential, then divide by 4 games that's 21.5. Bills win by 21.5pts. Personally, I hope it skews to over 28pts to add to another NFL record. I think the Bills not only win, but dominate. -
I remember 10yrs ago after my grandfather passed away going to my grandmothers house. My grandfather used to go to auctions and bring back boxes of junk. Had a whole room packed with stuff. He had all kinds of Bills collectibles. Never forget the box of Flutie Flakes he had sitting prominently on a shelf in the room unopened.

Losing White sucks, but our DBs aren't green rookies anymore. Losing Rousseau, hurts but again there ore others who can step in. Don't really think the defense skips a beat. Elevating a DT is interesting. Maybe it has to do with Rousseau being out or maybe it has to do with the opponent.

Week 5, Jagoffs v. Bills - Predict the Score
Rockinon replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 38 Jags 9 Just enough to win by at least 28. Go Bills! It's the Jags that lag in this one. -
He'll be in the rotation. Limited snaps, probably. Then increasing from week to week until the rotation is at the percentage of snaps they would normally do. Excited to see how much of an impact he has. He was cleared by doctors quite a while ago. Maybe he comes out on fire and surprises us all.

I thought that TD run was an RPO and Josh just selected to keep it. Great play because he practically walked into the endzone. I do think the play against the Raiders was pretty boneheaded, though. All that was needed to win, was eat clock. The interception gave them an opportunity to get right back in the game. Unfortunately for them, the Bills defense forced another turnover just a couple of plays later.

I'd venture to say that Jones taking on double teams is the reason Oliver has been doing so well. They can't double both of them. -

Going to be fun watching Miami trying to slow down the pass rush. Double the DTs and the DEs will get ya. This is going to be so much fun. -

I see no reason why the Bills can't. NE held them to 24 and they didn't even have an offense that could stay on the field to eat clock. Dolphins are riding a bit too high. Time to come back to earth. Maybe even buried beneath the earth. -

Was reading an article this morning and Ed Oliver was talking about Miami's presnap motion and the Denver game. He was saying that they cannot get sucked into the smoke and mirrors. That the Dline has to attack and stay on their keys. While the DBs are back there disguising coverage to confuse the QB, the Dline is focused on disrupting things behind the line of scrimmage. It'll be a team effort slowing down Miami. -

You don't even have to get physical with the wideouts. Just mix up the coverages. Make Tua think. Take away his hitting the first read 80% of the time. Make him hold the ball more than 2.2 seconds. He hasn't had to up until now, but he will. Buffalo is the best at disguising coverages. That's when the pass rush will get home. -
Denver never attacked the line of scrimmage. No one was getting pressure. As a result, all of that eye candy Miami was displaying with presnap motion left defenders reacting too late. The Bills defense will absolutely be living in the backfield. The secret is to dictate rather than react. Add in the disguises that make the QB think a little longer, hold the ball a little longer and that will also give the Dline a chance to blow up plays. The Bills are very good at mixing up coverage and forcing the QB to guess. The Dolphins have been fortunate that no defense, with the exception of NE, has been able to disrupt their timing. I predict a very wild game when Miami's offense is on the field against Buffalo's defense. Both are trying to force reactions and not allow the other to dictate. That is why Miami is rolling. Big problem for Miami is the Buffalo defense is very fast at getting into the backfield. Those eye candy plays don't work if a defender is all ready in the backfield. The Bills defense will have to be aggressive and also disciplined. The Miami offense will have to be fast enough to not let the D contain them. I think McD will have some wrinkles to challenge them.

Defensive line needs to crash down on Miami's OL right up the middle. They have a lot of "where is the ball" trickery behind the line of scrimmage. Shovel passes, fake handoffs. Saw a lot of underhanded pitches to the running back running to the left. Nice thing about scoring 70 is they put a lot of their gimmicky stuff on tape. Denver couldn't stop any of it. I'm really surprised how bad Denver's secondary was. Receivers were given too much cushion on short routes and it was very easy to find soft spots down the field. Epically bad D the Broncos have. On offense, the deep ball is going to be available. Denver was hitting a lot of deep passes. Saw 2 nice long balls that were stripped from the WR and recovered by Miami. The Denver run game was actually pretty decent too. Denver easily could have scored over 30 but three really bad turnovers hurts. Bills take care of the ball, they win this game handily. Put some pressure on Tua. Play a nice balanced game on offense and Miami leaves Buffalo with a whimper.

Over-reaction Three Weeks In.... Offense seems disjointed
Rockinon replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kincaid and Knox have been pretty consistent. I honestly believe the offense is so much different than last year, they are still figuring things out. 12 personnel is pretty foreign considering they only did it 3% of the time last year. Running the ball with RBs instead of relying on a read option and Josh possibly running is new. Josh is actually taking the snap and handing off in one smooth motion instead of scanning the D and trying to decide whether to hand off or keep it himself while the defense closes in. You can't really tell how good the running game is going to be until you actually start doing it against different defenses. It's early in the season. The offense is learning some new tricks. It will be interesting to see what new wrinkles they add throughout the season, but it is still early. Not everything will go as planned against a great defense, so the only thing you can really do is learn from mistakes and keep pushing the bar higher. If the players were so doubtful, they've all ready lost. -
I honestly think the play calling will improve as the season goes on. Just getting to a point where Josh isn't under duress for 4 qtrs is a major improvement. I was very impressed with how much time he was getting. Washington certainly still got some pressures but our OL held up pretty well. As far as play calling goes, it just seems like they are testing the waters on offense. Trying to figure out what plays and players they can consistently depend on. It almost seems like they still haven't opened up the play book. Maybe, I'm off here, but I'm not so certain the play calling is the real problem. I think they are looking for more players to become stars. Am I reading this wrong? Maybe it is brain farts on Dorsey part. I don't really buy that though.
-
This is the key. And a lot of it is scheme, which means some guys are blocking while others are running routes. I'd be curious how often TEs, RBs anyone not a OLman that is staying in to block. Might explain why certain plays aren't being called.

Th play that ticked me off was 4th down and half a yard to go. Josh lines up in shotgun and his pass is batted down. Why on god's green earth would you not run there. Other than that, I got nothing to complain about.
