I agree for the most part except, I think the play calling was off. There were repeated attempts to run screens to the outside, usually resulting in negative yardage. When something doesn't work, try something else. We also kept trying to run to the outside unsuccessfully. This is an area where Miami was week last year and have had a year to improve on these things. We were successful with Wild Cat, runs up the middle and hurry up offense. The were things we have done in the preseason that were never even tried. My opinion is that our adjustments came too late in the game to do any good. As for Trent, I think he did a pretty good job of getting rid of the ball before taking a sack. The line did not hold up well.

I saw some differences. But I agree about the play calling. Before this game, many experts thought Miami was very susceptible to plays run to the outside. They were last year. Buffalo repeatedly ran to the outside, screens to the outside,quick dump offs to the outside but Miami was able to stop us nearly every time. The thing that surprised me is that Chan kept trying the same crap in the second half. Miami's D has obviously been working on stringing out outside runs. It wasn't until the final 8 minutes of the game when Buffalo came out with the no huddle and caught Miami's defense with their pants down. By then it was too late. We couldn't get enough points on the board. There is no doubt in my mind we can beat that team. Even with the crap for an OL we have. If anything we should have been taking it to them right up the middle.

What's with all of the screen passes to Spiller for negative yards? The offensive line was terrible but there were moments running the ball up the middle looked good and during the hurry up. There were some good pass plays negated by penalties too. This could easily have gone the other way but my beef is when something doesn't work(screen), try something else. Put some plays in the book Chan!
