  1. With early first and second and third round picks and this years bumper crop of Defensive Linemen, the Bill's are chomping at the bit to beef up the DL. Not that all 3 will be DL but, they will certainly be strong considerations for each of those rounds. And yes, doubly so in the first round.
  2. Well, it looks like the Bills will be looking for a 3-4 DE. Dwan Edwards was the only one we had last year and he got hurt. This also indicates that the team is not going to go back to a 4-3. I really think that the defensive line is going to be the primary focus of this draft.
  3. Fairey? I'd like to see you call him that to his face.
  4. Now if we can just get Carolina to pick Cam Newton
  5. 2 veteran CBs growing old. Their rookie, Cox may miss some time next year as well. Linky That's a pretty big need and is going to make it hard for them to pass up in the 1st round. They could very well go in a different direction and try to pick a CB in the latter rounds but the odds highly in favor of a round 1 pick.
  6. 2. Denver Broncos: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU. Denver has seen their defensive backs go from one of the best in the NFL, to now finding themselves in need of improvement. Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins are both passes their prime, and don't have many years left to play at the NFL level. Their other cornerback, Perrish Cox, has found himself in legal troubles. Linky Personally, I think this plays into our hands nicely.
  7. Ad hominem? Lex parsimoniae? Your funny. Are these supposed to show us how smart you are? Poz a hero? Seriously, I'm retired Air Force. I can think of a much better definition of the word hero. Now the bolded part at least shows your using you head. Hey, we're all fans. How about we just agree to disagree before this turns into a tasteless barrage.
  8. Who cares about Shanny when we got Wanny......................................stache.
  9. Very true. I'm glad others are looking at things intelligently instead of just looking at what's on the surface. Makes the discussion much more interesting.
  10. It would be awesome if he slipped to the second round. Don't think so though.
  11. I'm pretty sure Poz never once said that he sucks. Again, you are making a black and white analogy and ignoring the rest.
  12. I think you are making some valid points. There are a couple of different ways to go as far as defensive end goes. Put a big disruptive force right next to Kyle Williams and let them wreak havoc on opposing offensive lines or get a defensive end that is quicker and can get after the ball carrier. Both make sense and each draft prospect has traits that fit one or the other. Tough decision. Maybe we'll get lucky and one of the teams in front us goes WR, CB. I'd like to see some depth at DE and LB either way.
  13. This is only part of the problem. Defensive linemen and linebackers have gap assignments. The coaches changed our defensive front so much last year, no one could tell what their responsibility was. Add to the fact that guys like Kyle Williams and Marcus Stroud are penetrating DTs allowing OTs to slip by them rather than taking on multiple blockers. The way to get better is to make sure DTs and Linebackers are on the same page. Everyone gets a gap assignment. If a DT shoots one gap the Linebacker shoots the other. Linebackers were so obviously not on the same page that Wannstedt was brought in. Run defense is not a difficult thing to fix even for mediocre talent if they know their place in the scheme. Trust in the Stache!
  14. Ok. Lets look at this from another perspective.....your signature. Every line is a negative statement about the Buffalo Bills. It's easy to draw conclusions such as: You are a pessimist. You don't like the Bill's management. You are not really a Bills fan. You are a negative person. You are an angry person. You are miserable. Does it mean you are any of those things or even all of those things? Hey, its all right there in black and white so you must be all of those things. Right? Drawing narrow minded conclusions about an interview is different though. Right? Think about it before answering.
  15. All laid out in black and white. Simple, cut and dried, unimaginative. No need to look at other variables. No need to believe that there is anything more than what you see in black and white.
  16. Hmmm. One little thing about the Wannstedt signing that a lot of people seem to overlook. He is not just assistant head coach, he is also ILB's coach. People around here seem to look at everything in black and white around here. The answer is not as simple as Poz sucks or doesn't suck. My opinion stands. People read one comment and like a hungry pack of hyenas are ready to tear him to shreds. Give me a break. Who is showing the greatest display of stength? Poz or his critics?
  17. Denver loses their 1st round WR from last year to a 6-8 month injury(maybe longer). Are they going skill position now or defensive line?
  18. I'm pretty sure that the coaches like Kyle Williams at the NT spot a lot more than DE and they will target DE and LBs in this draft. There is a lot of speculating over getting a big 3-4 NT but after Kyle William's Pro Bowl appearance and Troupe's signing last year, this is just not in the cards. So, my guess is DE and LB. Who is going to be the pick? Man, there are a lot of guys in this draft that can be chosen from and each have unique skills. The answer is not as simple as some think.
  19. Poz manning up and holding himself accountable is not a sign of weakness people. It's a sign of strength. Seriously, I can't understand the logic around here. Here is a guy who is doing a good job but admits it's not good enough. He is showing a willingness to do better and you guys are ready to throw him under the bus.
  20. I don't know about all that. We are sitting in our armchairs and speculating like everyone else. I do think that a transition from 4-3 DT to 3-4 DE is a possible. Marcus Stroud did it last year and actually managed to get 3 sacks from that position(very hard to do in a 3-4 allignment). Can Kyle Williams do the same? Sure, but I think the coaches likes him best in the NT position and want to build around that. In order to do that effectively they need the whole defense to be on the same page. I really think that the Wannstedt signing was exactly what they felt would help them the most. Teams like Dallas and Miami had some damn fine linebacker play during Wanny's tenures there. My personal opinion is that too much emphasis has been placed on comparisons to 3-4 and 4-3. No matter what scheme you run, the Defensive Linemen and Linebackers need to be responsible and accountable for hitting their gap assignment correctly. This was a big problem last year and that is why our run defense was so poor. Do we need to add more talent? Absolutely. Are we as untalented as everyone is saying? I personally am not buying the notion that our entire defense stinks with the exception of Kyle Williams. There are a lot of schemes that can be successful but our guys need to know how they fit into each scheme personally. The coaches are responsible for that and must make each player accountable for their assignment. That was very difficult for the Bill's last year because they kept changing the alignment in an effort to play to the team's strengths.
  21. No they don't. Historically, you are correct but not in this draft. The problem is that Andrew Luck did not come out and everyone else significantly pales in comparison. Not everyone is willing to take that risk.
  22. Can you imagine the reaction if the first 2 picks are skill positions like QB or CB leaving us with the choice of any of the top DL in this draft?
