  1. Don't know what to make of it. If true, this team is really coming together from a leadership stand point. Thanks Astrobot.
  2. I'll believe that when I see it.
  3. Maybe it does. Take a look at this New Team Workouts Link.
  4. Palmer is a lot better than many give him credit, true. And given the situation in Cincy, there is a small chance that Palmer is simply let go(this is why I don't mind commenting on the prospect), but I wouldn't count on it. If he is traded though, the Bills would and should pass IMO. Too pricey. I do think that Fitz and Palmer would make a great 1-2 punch. You may think Palmer would be the starter but I don't see it that way. Fitz knows the offense and Palmer doesn't. I'll wager too that Fitz looks a whole lot better than last year too. There really isn't much chance of Palmer landing here though.
  5. No, the way I understand it, they were negotiating yesterday and today in an effort to bypass further litigation. Not only that, if things are not worked out today, they may resume further negotiations at some point prior to the June 3rd hearing. There is a possibility still that it won't come litigation.
  6. Actually, the head coach is endorsing Fitz, the general manager and the players around him too. Why wouldn't a fan as well? Not so far fetched as some make it out to be. I don't know about Palmer. The FO must really like him to go after him, but he would first have to actually become available(not very freaking likely) and they would also be willing to give up pick(also not very freaking likely).
  7. I've all ready said that the Bill's probably won't want to give up draft picks, especially for someone as old as Palmer. That wasn't what I was driving at anyway. The thing that I was getting at, is that we still need depth at QB. Something a lot of people are simply writing off completely, simply because we have Fitz. That's crazy. You don't go into the season with just 2 QBs, period. Especially when the one back up we have is Levi. This is a huge priority. As for Palmer, I am not necessarily condoning that. He is just one of many options.
  8. If he is not smart enough to realize that he is going to go down with that ship, then he deserves what he has coming. The players have lost their leverage and it would be in their own best interest to negotiate before litigation decides their fate for them. I hope they make some progress at the negotiating table now before that happens. Otherwise, this is going to be very long summer with very little time for FA or OTAs.
  9. OK, everyone. There is something that must be said. How well Fitz did last year is 100% irrelevant to who we should pick up in free agency. We only have 2 QBs on this team and need one or two more. While looking for a QB, we do not look for depth by assuring that that person is not going to push for the starting job. We look for depth by getting the best player available. The idea is to improve the team and not waste time on sub par talent. I want to see Fitz take us to the playoffs as much as any. I like Fitz as much as any, but I do not want us to go into this season with only one viable candidate to lead this team at the QB position. Just stop the worrying over a QB controversy. That is simply a non-factor. We need someone in case Fitz goes down with an injury. Sorry for the rant. Just getting annoyed with people criticizing every possible FA QB because they don't want anyone but Fitz. We need additional depth at this position dammit!!!
  10. True. The Bill's all ready know they are not going to get that 10 year QB of the future, this year. What they do need is someone to back up Fitz, this year. They simply can not go into the season with Levi Brown as the only back up. They will target someone with either more experience such as Palmer or try to find a young guy that has great potential. The thing is, I do not see the Bills giving up a draft pick for an older, stop gap QB. I think the Bills value their draft picks and will likely go after someone that doesn't require losing a draft pick first. If they can't find someone suitable, they may have no choice. If that is the case, they will go after a quality starter because you don't give up a draft pick for just so so player. It is hard to imagine things coming to giving up a draft pick though. As for Palmer, it is very unlikely that he will actually be available in the first place
  11. There is all ready a "Why not Palmer" thread being discussed Here.
  12. I in no way shape or form want anyone on this team that is willing to accept being a backup, QB included. Even if the guy isn't talented enough to beat out Fitz, I want him to be striving toward that number one spot. Are there any QBs putting up big numbers in other pro football leagues?
  13. Ah, I spent most of my career at MacDill AFB, FL.
  14. Good honest way to look at the QB situation. I like the way you think, but God!!!! I wish you would get another avatar.
  15. Where are you now McD? I only ask because I am recently retired from the USAF and noticed your sig.
  16. They got rid of Trent very soon after seeing how he played in regular season games under real fire. After seeing what Fitz did with the remainder of the season, the majority of the season, they still give him a ringing endorsement. And if you had followed training camp, and seen Trent beat out the competition while playing in shorts, you might have done the same. In all honesty, I think they got rid of TE pretty quick.
  17. Well put. I'm afraid I just don't have your patience though.
  18. I was going to something similar. Man, I wish we could just get training camp started so we can put end to this madness.
  19. If you have so much disdain, go find another team. You are talking about the same guy that literally had a hand in making the NFL what it is today. The same owner that brought us 4 strait superbowl appearances. The same guy who didn't want the last CBA. For someone who is soooooooo inept he, sure has pretty damned good vision. I don't see you running an NFL franchise and seriously, what makes you think you are even qualified to make such statements? I get that you are frustrated, but you sir don't have a clue.
  20. And out of all that research, the OP can't answer the question for himself. Sounds like reaching for straws in a haystack, one straw at a time. Digging futilely for some shred of evidence only to finally ask the question in a public forum to see if anyone else shares his conspiracy theory. Dude needs to find something useful to do with his life. What a waste of time.
  21. When Ralph Wilson said, "I didn't get into this for the money" personally, I believe him. People always seem to think the worst about others. He became an owner because he loves football and was only hoping to break even or make a small profit, keeping the game alive. Is that so hard for people to understand? Another thing that really annoys me is that people tend to bash Ralph with derogatory comments about his age. Yea, he is very old. Where I come from, you honor your elders. You don't spew crap about how we'd be better off with someone younger and more aggressive. At least as long as he is still alive, the Buffalo Bills will remain in Buffalo. Thank You, Mr. Wilson.
  22. Palmer had a 61.8 completion percentage and threw for 3,970 yards last season on one of the worst teams in the NFL. Not bad when you consider how horrible their defense was(kinda like Buffalo last year). I'm not saying that he is a long term answer. He is obviously getting older. He still has some gas in the tank though and Fitz and Palmer have worked together before. The difference would be Palmer would carry the clip board instead of Fitz here in Buffalo and he would be able to step right in if Fitz gets hurt. Now on whether he would come to Buffalo or whether Cincy would even allow him to leave, there is very little chance. Minuscule, really. Still there is a chance and it would be worth looking into. Veteran talent at QB does not grow on trees. I'd snap him up in a heartbeat if the price was right. He was the QB of one of the most explosive passing teams in the NFL on more than one occasion. The comments about being washed up or simply saying "PASS" are pretty premature and thoughtless, I think. I can't believe I wasted this much time on this, because there really is very little chance he would end up in Buffalo. But that does not by any means mean that it would be bad idea.
