  1. I'm not sure I want waste my time reading another "The new NFL" regurgitation......if that's what this is. Sorry, I'm just stubborn that way. Comes from more than 20 years in the USAF and at least that long as a Bills fan
  2. Vic Carucci on Fred Jackson's near injury at the workouts. NFL.COM
  3. Dareus is at the team workouts. ESPN
  4. I know. I keep hearing these youngsters talking about "this is a new era", "a passing league". Blah, blah blah. You'd think there wasn't anyone else on a football team other than QBs and WRs these days.
  5. So what you are saying is if you can't beat him, join him. No thanks. I want to see the Bills beat him. There simply is no middle ground here. Either beat him, or go down trying. There is satisfaction in that. Putting him in a Bills uniform is like conceding defeat and that is just not acceptable. Sorry, Brady can kiss my rosey red a**.
  6. Alphadawg, I would rather have Fitz than Brady too. Why? Because I don't want no stinkin' Brady. Do I think Fitz is a better QB? Nope. I would just get much better satisfaction seeing the Bills beat Brady and the Patriots than I would by having Brady as a Bill. If that is something you can't understand, you don't know much about being a competitor. I also happen to like Fitz more than Mr. GQ, Tom Brady. Seriously, you fly off the handle over the silliest things.
  7. CBS with football facts. That's a new one.
  8. Still, it's good to see. It's not like they won't get anything out of it. At the very least, they can discuss the playbook, which according to Chris Brown the team didn't get a chance to pass out before the lockout. Apparently, they were planning a meeting with the rookies within a couple of days of the draft but never got the chance.
  9. 5000. If you get started now you might be finished by........................................................................................................I kid!
  10. Wow, didn't see that coming. I wonder if any more rookies will show up.
  11. Um......... so would I.
  12. I read that article the day it was posted and was wondering when someone would comment on it here. Actually, it was a well thought out piece and pretty accurate when discussing Troupe's poor technique. While it is way too soon to be alarmed, there is still some reason for concern. That game was early in the season and Troupe was obviously not strong enough to hold up. In later games, he got better with technique by getting lower. Still, he was no Kyle Williams when it came to technique and pure power. With big guys like Troupe, Williams and Heard all ready on the team it is notable that a guy like Jasper was chosen in the draft. Again, I do not think alarmed is quite the right word but it is certainly something to be concerned about. Being pushed back so running backs can find a gap right up the middle is not something that you can ignore.
  13. Awesome. I think he may be moved to OLB and in college had some great pass rush moves.
  14. Wow. Evans pays some very remarkable compliments to Fitz. He seems to be very happy that Fitz will be starting this year. Coming from a veteran like Evans it seems to carry more weight than some other articles I've seen about Fitz.
  15. Today's workouts include a football WGRZ
  16. Thanks Beerball. Here is another one I missed: Yahoo Sports And here is a little more in depth info on the workouts themselves and some good comments by some of the players. Buffalo News
  17. I find it somewhat alarming that these workouts are being limited so much. George Wilson is telling the rookies not to get involved with the drills all together because he doesn't want them to get hurt. He is giving them sound advice because getting hurt at this stage could really hurt their career. We know though that this lockout is preventing them from really getting competitive and pushing themselves and each other the way they would in normal preseason workouts. Lets hope things change soon so the coaches and players can get together and and do some real training.
  18. A list of who has attended so far. QBs Fitzpatrick Levi Brown Brian Brohm running backs Jackson Corey McIntyre receivers Lee Evans David Nelson Naaman Roosevelt Paul Hubbard Felton Huggins offensive linemen Geoff Hangartner Andy Levitre Demetrius Bell Cordaro Howard Kraig Urbik defensive linemen Dwan Edwards Torell Troup Alex Carrington linebackers Chris Kelsay Reggie Torbor Aaron Maybin rookie Kelvin Sheppard Arthur Moats Antonio Coleman Danny Batten defensive backs Leodis McKelvin Jairus Byrd George Wilson Bryan Scott rookie Da'Norris Searcy long-snapper Garrison Sanborn. That's 31 Bills total. Some undrafted rookies were there too. West Seneca natives and Maine products Jeremy Kelly and Desmond Randall and Sacred Heart linebacker Bill O'Brien were also there. Some pieces from the Buffalo News Blog, by Mark Gaughan: The session was organized by Jon Corto, Fred Jackson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andra Davis and George Wilson, and the players will be working out together through Thursday. The session lasted about two hours. The players did some conditioning drills on the field and some footwork drills. The they broke up into two groups - big guys and little guys. One group hit the weight room while the other did more on-field conditioning. Then the two groups reversed roles. Most of the players did some walk-through-type plays at the end of the session. "I’m definitely excited just to see all the guys that came in today," Wilson said. "It’s very encouraging. You see how hungry guys are and eager to get back to work. Guys spend their own money to get here. Some guys who don’t have their own places are staying with other guys or are paying their own hotel bills. So that shows the willingness and want-to to get back into the groove of things. We’re now almost two months into what our normal offseason would be.
  19. Try checking the links in the thread that I started days ago. I have been updating it with info as news comes in. Here
  20. For the Twitter freaks some tweets from Fred Jackson, Torell Troupe, Jairus Byrd, David Nelson, Felton Huggins and Danny Batton. Linky
  21. I'm not saying he is the answer but I wouldn't be real upset either.
  22. ESPN report on the workouts. Kinda disappointing because they are cautioning against getting injured. They could lose their pay for this. Kelvin Sheppard and Da'Norris Searcy are there. Linky
  23. Yea, I caught that too. In fact, I wasn't even going to post it but broken record made me do it.
  24. Yes it would. I always thought our former coaches were ridiculous with offensive play calling and wonder what Gailey could do with him. Not that there aren't other options out there. I remember how infuriating it was to watch games where it seemed to go like this on 90% of the offensive plays. 1st down - run 2nd down - run 3rd down - pass 4th down - punt The offense was so unimaginative at play calling, I wondered how Jauron ever graduated from an Ivy league school. JP isn't going to be a franchise pick up by any means but he is better than some of the FAs out there. If it plays out that way, it'd interesting to say the least.
