  1. Hangman got dumped by his previous team after playing that position. Not sure that would work.....maybe.
  2. There appears to be some problems with guys knowing their assignments and knowing how to use proper technique. Urbik for instance is a big strong guard but he is getting beat because his use of leverage is poor(he just doesn't get low enough and he is slow). Bell's problems dealing both Dumervil and Von Miller would be a headache for any LT in the league. For now, I'll give the guy a pass but not for long. I think Chan swapping Levitri has more to do with his size than anything(Rinehart has been doing well in camp and he has 30lbs on Levitri). Pears doesn't seem to be doing bad. At least he is doing his job which is more than some others on the line. Wood is a stud, but I tend to agree with the OP somewhat. We need our best OL in there and Hangartner is one of them. Whether Wood or Hangartner is the center, I just don't know. We know Wood can play guard, but we don't know if Hangartner is any better at guard than the younger guys. I do know that Hangartner was stopping Kellen Heard and Micheal Jasper in their tracks in camp and for a guy as small as Hangman, that's pretty impressive. The offensive line looked pretty bad as a unit in both preseason contests so far. Can they get their act together? That is the question. But at this stage, going into a complete panic and bringing in replacements could possibly do more harm than good. These guys are young and my experience with young people is that they can be boneheaded sometimes. Maybe they just need to get their heads outta their a$$. I'm still glad that we have a big influx of defensive talent added to the team. We needed that more than anything. Buffalo Bills football just doesn't seem right without a dominant defense. What we have on offense though is going to have to do until we can actually find something better. Maybe that will happen this year, but most likely it'll have to wait until next. Crying for old Joe blow fatso this year just seems wrong to me.
  3. It would not be optimistic if you wait until after they win.
  4. I really don't see 5 yards making that big of an impact.
  5. I remember shortly after the Spiller pick, there was an article about how Nix believed a premium running back produced better results than a premium tackle for rushing yards. There was something about data to back that up.
  6. I want to see Batten get 2 sacks again. Before Aaron Williams got his interception against Chicago he was getting beat pretty bad. I'd like to see improvement there. The second string offense was horrible and I'd like to see some signs of improvement. I want to see Spiller move the chains. Dareus needs to back up his talk. I want to see if our Wild Bill QB can throw too. I want to see more production from Thigpen as well. I'd like to see solid evidence that the D can stop the run against Denver's vaunted zone blocking scheme. I could go on for a while with this but I think these are the biggest things right now.
  7. This is the highest we have picked in the draft in a long time. It stands to reason that this would be the best draft in years. Just sayin'.
  8. Cris Brown is reporting that Reggie Corner has been the most productive corner in camp. Although he hasn't had as many interceptions as some, he has more pass breakups than anyone. Just thought I'd mention this since you didn't bring up his name. Our secondary is looking pretty good all around. The line is looking incredibly dominant and there should be some exciting plays on this side of the ball this year. As a result, I think there will be an increase in sacks and interceptions. I also think there will be a decrease in rush yards allowed. All in all, it does look like there is a lot to be optimistic about with the D.
  9. News without a source is not news. Moran doesn't have a thing or this would be all over the media. He'd better be careful. Merriman isn't afraid of suing someone.
  10. Four pages because Vick has a conspiracy theory? Really?
  11. He came out of practice to have a trainer look at his ankle, but then went right back to practice. Took a couple of minutes tops. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  12. One word, "No".......Direct, to the point, and absolutely no hesitation when answering. That is what a coach does. What did you expect?
  13. If Levitre does ok at Center, Hang could get some reps at guard. I think the coaches are just experimenting.
  14. Everything I have read about this guy has been positive with exception of his off season surgery. Brees seems to be taking it kinda hard. Linky
  15. Injury prone? Lets not jump to conclusions.
  16. This might be the break Buddy has been looking for.
  17. I liked how he chuckled when he was asked how it felt to be back. He sounds genuinely happy to be playing football again.
  18. 4-3? 3-4? It's funny how we make such a big deal out of this. Also of note is how Carrington is playing OLB at 300+lbs. The coaching staff is clearly looking to stop the run and put pressure on the passer with these moves. The positions these guys are playing has less to do with the scheme(3-4, 4-3) than it does with maximizing individual player talents. Kelsay sticking a hand on the ground so he can get low and gain leverage is what he is good at. Carrington is big but also fast so he can play OLB and contain the run. Darius, Williams and Merriman all playing next to each other so they can use their disruptive skills to crush plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. All this means is that the coaches are trying to use their skills where they are most effective. It's about not getting lassoed into a specific scheme really.
  19. What reluctance? The D was a bigger priority. You can bet your a$$ he wanted at least one more tackle as well. Just didn't work out that way.
  20. You are reading into it too much. The Bears OL is bad, simply because.....the bears OL is bad.
  21. I noticed that about Fitz's throwing motion too. While growing up, I got a lot of comments about the way I throw a baseball(3/4). Not side arm, but not overhand either. The thing is, overhand never felt natural but I was more accurate and more powerful that way. Fitz does find ways to move the chains though, so as long he performs I can overlook how odd he looks.
