  1. Wow. Seriously, CJ has actually done some positive things. Maybin did squat. The comparison is wildly off the mark.
  2. You should stick with the hindsight thing. There is no way Smith winds up being the #2. The wildcat is fine as a change of pace but there is no chance Gailey is going to try that full time if Fitz goes down. As for the contracts, that is not how Gailey operates. He will put on the field who he thinks is going to perform the best. Contracts don't mean jack.
  3. I do not feel comfortable with Brad Smith as a #2. The guy just got here and he is playing multiple positions. Give him a year and then maybe. Thigpen also just got here and hasn't got a good feel for his receivers. I'd give him a year too. Brown has done some improving though not as much as hoped. For now, I think Brown should be considered for the #2 spot. Smith will get some spot duty at QB and WR. He will also be used as a decoy occasionally, IMO. So far, I am just not impressed with Thigpen, but I do think he needs some more time to adapt here. Overall, I am not overly worried about our QBs. I think they all will bring something to the table with time and practice. My biggest concern is seeing better performance from the linemen protecting them. It's not looking good for Hangartner or Wang. Both look pretty weak this year.
  4. This is a retarded argument. No one knows with anything resembling certainty what will unfold in the future concerning these two backs.
  5. Can't argue with that.
  6. And Chandler, Jackson and Spiller sneaking out to catch a few too.
  7. Someone needs to warn Clayton to be prepared to eat some crow.
  8. Bold? Is that what you call these?
  9. FJ has 2 years left on the previous extension the Bills gave him. Kyle Williams had only one year left on his contract. Does Fred deserve more money? Of course, but KW was definitely the bigger priority. Even Steve Johnson is a bigger priority. Black vs White? Not buying that. Contract extensions are typically done one year before the contract is up....not two. So exactly how is it that FJ is being sooooo mistreated by the Bills FO?
  10. Maybe he'd be a great player if he wasn't stupid.
  11. Simple. The guy wants to play. That's what winners do. Winners want to be on the field and being held out of a game for a minor nick is just dumb. He is motivated. Nothing wrong with that.
  12. That's a real good point, SJBF. Defenses key in on things like that and when a tackle can disguise a play, it makes the line better.
  13. What about the two tackles from Baltimore? Oniel Cousins (T) and Brady Bond (T) Both are still young.
  14. Good luck with that, Jimmy. The Bills would have paid the Jets to take Maybust off our hands.
  15. Senator's Google foo more powerful than your Google foo.
  16. Some offensive line shuffling after 2 preseason losses and the posts just keep getting wackier. I think I'm going to have to sign off of TBD for a few days because it's nearly impossible to find anything worth discussing.
  17. Just adding to some names all ready posted. T. Troupe A. Carrington Would Merriman be considered a breakout player at this stage in his career?
  18. Would you guys listen to yourselves? Tim Graham states that the first team RB position is CJ's to lose and everyone including Fred assumes that Graham is also saying that Fred is therefore a second stringer. Fred Jackson then jumps the gun and goes public with a statement about not being respected. After practice, Gailey is caught completed off guard with questions about Jackson not feeling respected. He said CJ and Fred are both #1's. He also said that Fred was a bit ahead of CJ. He clearly was not putting CJ ahead of Jackson on the depth chart and Tim Graham's comments were off the mark. Now, I come into this forum this morning and you guys are still going on over something that never happened.
  19. Mark Ludwiczak tweet 2 hours ago Yea, let's see how this works out.
  20. Chan says Fred is ahead of CJ and that they are both starters. Linky
  21. I don't understand the Spiller bashing. While I agree that Jackson is the clear starter it does not mean that Spiller should simply sit on the bench. The Bills invested in the kid to play football and he should be given first team reps so he can learn. He can't do it by layin' around twittling his thumbs.
  22. Bell had his hands full. Von Miller was speed rushing to the outside and Dumervil was stunting to the inside. He slipped and fell flat twice trying to redirect his body because he was caught moving in the wrong direction. Plus he got no help chip blocking. That said, he definitely has to improve. I'm not however ready to throw him under the bus. Everyone wants results right now. Gailey is just doing his job and what we want doesn't mean jack to him. I wonder what will happen next week to get the chicken littles crying.
  23. Read the Buffalo News article: Linky Gailey intentionally did not allow blitzing because he wanted to evaluate deficiencies in the base defense. He did not allow chip blocking on offense either because he wanted to evaluate how well individual players performed in just a base scheme. I thought something about this game didn't look right. This game was about evaluating talent, not winning. We'll have to ride this out to see how things progress.
  24. I agree. This rule blows.
  25. Chan said he did not bring a lot of blitzes. He wanted to see how the LBs and secondary would do without the blitz by just running a base defense. He's evaluating. Batten and Coleman were not given the opportunities to get after the QB.
