  1. Win in the trenches and Miami is toast. Make them tackle our TEs in coverage and run the ball. Play a physical game and force Miami to match physicality. I don't think they are up for it.
  2. I think the defense is going to go off against Miami and the pass rush is going to make life miserable for Tua. And I also believe the offense is way overdue for a dominate performance. This game is just itching to be a blow out win. Not to get over confident, but it just feels like like we're due.
  3. We've also won our last four games. That being said, I think Josh is going to light up the score board early and often this week.
  4. I agree for WR, we need to find someone in the draft. We also need to start looking at aging vets on defense, like maybe a safety or better depth at LB. Not sure who will be resigned for the DLine. Everyone wants that flashy WR, maybe even 2 of them, but there are so many positions that can not be ignored.
  5. I think Shakir can have a Cole Beasley type 1000yd season, but he isn't going to be a #2. We need to draft a #1 receiver while Diggs is still young enough to contribute at a high level(We've seen a bit of a drop off from him...maybe he's banged up). It would really be nice to have that rather than hope that Shakir can fill that role. Those over the middle catches that both Beasley and Shakir do are critical pieces to this offense. They prevent those safeties from zeroing in on the outside receivers. Best case is to keep Shakir in his current role and improve on it, draft a true #1 to pair with Diggs. The passing game has really gone through some growing pains this year, but it's still pretty good. We're seeing production from guys like Shakir and Kincaid. Seems the pass game is still trying to find itself. It's good, just not quite elite good. Get someone that can compete at Diggs level and then we're cooking. For now, Josh needs to put more faith in Shakir and Kincaid. Take some of the weight off of Diggs and Davis.
  6. I think Shakir is getting more and more touches. I'm thinking Allen needs to change up his progressions. Maybe look to him or a TE before making Diggs the first read.
  7. No. He turned on the jets while the ball was in the air to gain separation. Just wasn't fast enough. That was on Allen on that play
  8. If Diggs is the 1st read so much, maybe defenses are picking up on that. Maybe that's the problem. Perhaps Shakir, a TE or Cook need to be the first read sometimes. Diggs can still be the 1st read...just less often.
  9. I get the frustration. To me it seems they need some of those one read plays in the offense like Miami does, just to get things rolling. Something besides running on 1st down so much. I don't....haha. Wouldn't that be nice if they were sandbagging.
  10. Good observations. There were a couple of deep shots against NE. Josh just missed. Diggs actually had a step on one of them but it was overthrown. Maybe weapons, but I find it hard to believe that we still can't do it with who we have. How many times do we have someone open short and Josh chooses the deeper route even when coverage is tight there? Maybe it's just a matter of not being able to work his way through progressions before pressure gets there. I wonder what is going through Josh's head sometimes. Is he going through his progressions looking deep first and then only throwing short when he has absolutely no other choice? Sometimes it seems the only time he immediately gets rid of the ball is when it's one of those ridiculous screens that get blown up behind the LoS. Sometimes, I think Josh just needs to start throwing early and often just to get into a rhythm sooner.
  11. Yes he has. He's also throwing a lot of picks and his timing throws are off. Tough to do when you are constantly avoiding getting sacked. We have really been spoiled with Allen. I think seeing Shakir go over 500yds is testament that he's been working to get even better.
  12. I've been watching how defenses play Josh all season. One thing is 2 high safeties on most passing plays making it difficult to go deep. The other thing, teams are really bringing some heat with the pass rush. Allen is constantly having to move from his stance after dropping back. He isn't able to go through his progressions and throw with timing. People talk about timing with other QBs all the time but we've been so spoiled with Allen's escapability, that it doesn't even occur to us, that he too must throw with timing when you are looking to dink and dunk. It is so critical to be able to throw those quick hitters when the defense is taking away the deep ball. Defenses have found a way to force short passes and also disrupt his timing. Allen loves those 15-30yd passes. That's what he excels at, but it's not available because of the way defenses are playing. Allen can play the short passing game, but it just seems he has a hard time getting into a rhythm. Often what happens is Allen scrambles and the WRs have to also adjust to help him out. Allen excels at that backyard game, but it is not a sustainable way to play because it also can result in interceptions. Bottom line, Allen needs to keep working on those timing throws and so do the receivers. Sometimes he throws a perfect strike but man he puts some serious mustard on them and the WR can't catch that bullet. Allen is a great QB, but he isn't without his flaws. I hope he gets better at timing and touch. Another thing that seems off is an ability to draw up lots of quick hitters. Plays where it's just a quick 3 step drop and the ball is out. We see it from time to time, but man, this team is super inconsistent with that. I think the offense has been working on evolving in many areas. The run game, better game planning, etc. Those timing passes need to be done over and over in practice though. Enough so that there is no thinking. It's just muscle memory. I think we're starting to see that with Shakir. Maybe, the coaches and practices are all ready working on these things. Disclaimer: I am no coach and certainly no expert. Everything I've mentioned are just musings from a longtime fan. Every week there seems to be new challenges and new adjustments. I have no idea what is talked about in meetings or what the focus is in practice settings. I do get the impression though that the offense is constantly evolving, working and trying to find answers.
  13. He play more than 50% of the snaps in a rotation. I think he's just getting started. Played well enough for the coaches to leave him in there.
  14. Shew! The blood pressure
  15. Murray out. Johnson in.
  16. I am growing really tired of the broken plays resulting in big gains for this trash team
  17. Josh needs to get things rolling.
  18. Back end needs to help out here
  19. Receivers need to be ready for the ball coming out early.
  20. At least Kincaid held onto the ball
  21. DQ looks like he's got a little pep in his step there.
  22. Or maybe just resting him up for Miami. I was sure it would be a rotation of DQ and Linval. Sometimes I just don't get the DL rotation.
