Official OTA/Minicamp Thread (May/June)
Rockinon replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Getting Dareus and K. Williams on the field is going to be huge. It amazes me how well the D is doing without them. Nice to see we have some depth on the line for a change. -
Do you? You don't have a very high opinion of people in general. Maybe you should consider moving. Where I come from there is a lot more pride in following the rules than in winning at all costs. Not everyone is willing to take the easy out. Encouraging cheating. Sad. I'm glad my kids don't read this forum.

Miami writer: Stevie Johnson's a No. 2
Rockinon replied to GOBILLS78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A little early for that prediction. Graham is making some noise so far too. There is so much more talent at the position than last year though it will be interesting. Don't forget CJ and Fred have done some good stuff catching the ball too. Add in TEs and and a running attack, this offense could really be smokin'.... -
Miami writer: Stevie Johnson's a No. 2
Rockinon replied to GOBILLS78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering the way they cleaned house at the WR position and brought in all of this young talent, I really think that it ain't going to be all about Stevie this year. BTW, that's how it should be. -
Dorin moving to WR = cut. Doesn't block, new kid does.

Pettine starting to insert blitz packages. -
Chandler bounced around. Just sayin'. They released WR Norell to make room.

Miami writer: Stevie Johnson's a No. 2

I think Miami is pumping themselves up with hyperbole while the Bills are quietly going about their business and preparing to take the division. Screw the phish. -

Marone is rotating them each practice until one shows they are clearly the better QB. He did not give a timeline, but I would think that he wants to chose a clear #1 and #2 ASAP. For now it will be a rotation on who gets first reps. -

These guys ain't messin' around. Sounds like Kolb is not planning to hand over the starting job without a fight. -
Also a untalked about subject - Cordy Glenn
Rockinon replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think with Glenn on the left and Wood in the center, they could put just about anybody in at left guard and be all right. The right side of the line though? Going to be interesting to see the percentage of pass vs run plays this year. I really don't see more run than pass because of how the league has transitioned to more passing. Kind of a shame when we have so much talent at RB. My guess is that CJ and Fred will still get plenty of touches because they can catch the ball too. Glenn does well at just about everything. His biggest weakness will be blocking speed rushers around the edge. -
Democrat & Chronicle?

OK, thanks. I read the 1st page then posted....lol.

I posted this in the "Marone fosters accountability" thread but maybe this one is more appropriate. There is a cool workout competition going on. Linky

Is Kyle Williams going to undergo surgery?
Rockinon replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sorry but you guys are just making this stuff up. He did not have a tear like what most people seem to be thinking here. He has the same injury he had 2 years ago. Bones spurs. When he had surgery to remove the bone spurs the 1st time, the surgery was very successful. Last thing most of us heard was that he was going to have surgery for the same thing, only is other foot. The thing is, bone spurs are very painful when you are using your 300lb frame to crash into other 300lb bodies. How bad does it damage the bottom of your feet? Every case is different. My guess, in Kyle's case is that it's not so serious that he can't come back healthy by training camp. Even in a worse case scenario, it's still not a career ending injury. What the hell is all of this "his career is over" talk? Kyle will be back. Get real, people. When people don't know the full details about something, why do they feel the need to blow smoke up everyone's arses with ridiculous rumors? -
Nix is making the decisions. That doesn't mean he is ignoring the input from the staff around him. I'm sure that the decisions he makes are heavily influenced by the new coaches. When you are in charge that is exactly what you should be doing.....listening to your team members and then making a decision that everyone is comfortable with.

I think when the front office left the cupboard bare by leaving pretty much only Stevie as a starter, there were opportunities to earn a roster spot for these guys. Kind of funny how everyone was panicking when we didn't resign anyone. If you are a college prospect, you want to go where you are going to have opportunities. This team definitely did. Give the FO some credit for what is happening here. I am blown away because everything about this draft looks like there was a great deal of planning involved. The Bills look like a team that hit the nail right on the head this time around.

How does Steve Johnson feel this morning, do you think?
Rockinon replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is real competition at the WR position. What that means is that every WR on the roster should be pushing hard to make the final cut. All of them know what is at stake, so all of them will need to compete. You can try and guess who should be the most nervous, but in the end I think they all know that they are going to have to put in the work and who ever ends up on top.........well, they end up on top. Don't think you can really read much more into it. -
Rd 4, Pick #105: S Duke Williams - Nevada
Rockinon replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This FS and the ILB both have made a lot of plays in the backfield. This is what Pettine does. He shifts people so that who you think is going to cover a guy isn't, and who you think is coming on a blitz isn't. It's an attack that disguises what the defense is up to. All of the defensive moves so far are all about finding a bunch of guys that can blitz from their position and also be fast enough to cover when someone else is blitzing. All of the talk about picking these guys because they have some off field issues is way off the mark. Yes, they want aggressive hitters out there, but they are not intentionally looking for psychos with off field issues. Seriously, you guys are cracking me up with this stuff. -
Rd 3, Pick #78: WR Marquise Goodwin - Texas
Rockinon replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This pick seems like it's about EJ Manuel being the QB. EJ is very good at the deep ball. Now we have some burners who can spread a defense thin. If the underneath stuff ain't there, go over 'em. When those don't work, you know we can pound the rock. I also see some misdirection stuff like a reverse with these speedsters.
