  1. I'm going to offer my opinion although I don't really hold out much hope many here can see past their complete favoritism for EJ. And BTW, I really think EJ is the clear starter for a number of reasons. I'm getting a bit irritated however, by the uncouth and derogatory comments about Kolb. The guy has all ready had to endure the embarrassment of slipping on a rubber mat and the wise cracks from not only the fans but his own team mates as well. I'm pretty certain his skin is thick enough to deal with that and move on. But before he could get in the game, he learns his grandmother passed and has to take some time to be with family. When he gets back and and gets right back in the game, he doesn't do as well as he feels he should. I even read a comment about fans booing him, and he responds by saying he would boo himself too. I give him some credit for being stand up and simply moving on. What I can't abide by is the utter childish reactions by folks who think it's OK to continue with their uncouth, derogatory rants. The guy is an athlete on "OUR" team. He may not be the starter, but he does deserve better from those who call themselves Buffalo Bills fans. And BTW, I often hear grumblings such as "He had his chance in Philly and Arizona". As far as I am concerned and I'm pretty sure the coaches are concerned, he got a clean slate the moment he became a Buffalo Bill. I'm sitting down now and watching the Minnesota game on DTV right now for the first time and I can assure you, my opinion won't change. I'm going to give the guy a fair shot to redeem himself. Some won't. Some will continue to act like whiny cry babies because they can't handle a little adversity.
  2. He got hurt and then lost a family member. Get the facts right and don't make crap up just because you don't want him to start.
  3. Naw...Kolb had to hurt his knee in order for it to work. This was planned out for quite some time.

  5. Soooouuuunnnds good. Hope your right.
  6. From the BB website....... Apparently the best TE in Syracuse history.....not that that is saying much.
  7. Or........maybe Kolb is getting the exotic blitzes because he has more experience and because it's an area of his game that he obviously needs to work on. Manuel getting more vanilla looks while watching Kolb under fire is all about bringing him along more slowly and giving him time to learn effectively. The last day of practice, the defense worked in a few more blitz packages against Manuel. I believe Manuel will be seeing more and more exotic blitzes throughout camp and Kolb will continue to see everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him. By the end of camp, it will be clear who the starter should be. It will be obvious to us, to members of the team and the coaches. What the coaches are doing is trying to improve the play of every player on the team.....even Kolb.
  8. LOL.....that's what I was thinking!
  9. Tim Graham ‏@ByTimGraham 6m What has stood out to me so far in this first Bills training-camp session is that the receivers have torched the defensive backs.
  10. Really glad things worked out for you. Hopefully, I can do the same when the time comes.
  11. I left DTV 10 yrs ago and have bounced back and forth between TWC and Dish network since. When I looked at DTVs offer to new customers, I could hardly pass it up. The 2 yr contract stinks, but for the first yr it's a pretty good deal. I can live with the additional charges for the Genie even though I was pretty shocked by how much they charge for it considering installation is free. I can see how people are not happy with DTVs regular pricing though. My package would be $78 per month plus the cost of ST and the Genie. That's a lot. I just won't be getting ST next yr. I like having TV but that's just not an acceptable level to pay for programming in my opinion. I've lived without ST for 10yrs now and I can live without it next yr too.
  12. Good god!!! Why on earth would you need 3 TBs?
  13. Johnny, if I were you, I'd take the offer from Dish Network for a year or two(don't know how long they make you sign a contract for). Then just go back to DTV. I do this with my car insurance all the time. The second they up my rates, I switch to another one. Of course with DTV you only get free ST for one yr when you sign a 2 yr contract. You could always just tell them you are switching to Dishnetwork unless they offer you a better deal. They certainly won't want to lose you for a customer. Wait to see what they offer.
  14. Just got my DTV this past week. Free Sunday Ticket for 1st year $38 off the bill per month for 1st year 3 months free premium channels 1 Free Genie and 1 free mini Genie Installation free Only downside is a 2 yr contract. Paid $7 initially for getting it set up. First bill is due August 1st for $65. Got the Ultimate package which is on grade lower than the Premier package. Not sure what taxes setup fees are. I just know that when I signed up the package I ordered was listed at $49/month. I'll have to wait for the following month to see if the bill stays at $65. Perhaps I'm paying extra for the Genie per month. Guess I'll have read the billing statement to understand a little better. After reviewing the bill, I see the Genie is 25/month!!! Wow.
  15. I just hope they don't cave and allow a clause to be inserted into the 1yr contract allowing Byrd to walk next year to the highest bidder. Bills should retain the right to tag him again next year. If they cave, the Bills then can't get compensatory picks next year if traded. Stick to your guns Doug.....it ain't over yet.
  16. If the tempo is as fast as advertised, this group could come out of the gate and surprise teams.
  17. I don't think a 1st round pick alone is going to be enough for the Bill's to bite. Any team that is interested would have to pay pretty dearly to get Byrd. His value is for multiple picks.....not just a single 1st rounder. On top of that, the team who gets him will have to pay big money to get him. I don't see a team giving up multiple picks plus forking over a big time contract. I'm sure Byrd will either work out a deal with Buffalo or sign his franchise tag.
  18. I scratched my head at that too. There are a bunch of under the radar guys like that on this team. Question is who else is going to break out this year? Bradham? Graham? As much as Spiller was held back last year, he could hit 2000 all purpose yards. Will Mario bust out? How about Kyle Williams healthy for a whole season or Fred Jackson for that matter. Mark Anderson? There is talent on this team and even depth in a lot of key areas. Really looking forward to this season.
  19. I've read nearly every post in this thread and I will say that I have been eagerly waiting to hear some news on Byrd's contract. I hope he gets signed because I believe he is talented and should get top 5 money. Highest paid, no. One thing I have noticed though is how cynical the posts have gotten. People who start talking about holding out and trying to equate that to the individual as a person or how they will perform down the road, just sounds like another Bill's fan turned wonky. I know being a fan of the Bill's has it's down side sometimes but sheesh. I want Byrd on the team because he has been a good soldier and because he has performed at a high level. I think he should be paid according to his performance and because he is still young enough to contribute at a high level. Byrd is holding out for the best deal he can get because this is the best opportunity he is ever likely going to get. However things play out, his ethics or his speculated performance down the road should not be in question. Don't lose site of what it means to be a fan of the Bills by wallowing in your cynicism and misery. Misery that should be left where it belongs...in the past. I like your attitude, SJBF.. You know how to lighten up.

  22. This needs some Roger Miller music to go with it. "You Can't Roller Skate In a Buffalo Herd"......lol.
  23. I think CJ is not really underrated. Fred anyone? The guy is always the underdog and at some point this year, the Bills will need to depend on him. I hope the old dog tears it up.
  24. I wonder if there is too much posturing going on in TSW. Not if they don't have the cap space for it.
