What A Win Sunday Would Do For Our Team
Rockinon replied to Bryce Paup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every player in every sport has doubts. How they are able to deal with it, overcome it, is what matters. The Bills to this point have played tough in every game. What they haven't done is win every game. You think there is no doubt? As an athlete you go to work at your craft every day trying to get better. When you feel you have done everything that you possibly could have, you are in trouble. There is always room for improvement. I guess the point is, it's a lot easier to get better when your confidence is high. So in summary, a win this week will increase their confidence. At one end of the scale is confidence and at the other end is doubt. Feel me now? -
What A Win Sunday Would Do For Our Team

I win against NO will push this team over the top. Any doubt remaining will be erased. The Miami game was good for righting the ship, but winning this one would be the true turning point for this team. They won't go into any game thinking they can't beat anyone. -
Week 8 AFCE matchups - pick'em and why

If Miami hands the Patriots a loss, NE loses a couple more before the Bills play them at the end of the season, the Bills could be playing NE for the division crown. -

What A Win Sunday Would Do For Our Team

This is what I have been thinking. A win on the road against this team places the Bills in elite territory. No one is giving them much of a chance, and forgetting that on any given Sunday some team does the unexpected and wins one they aren't supposed to. And for what it's worth, I really don't think NO has had a very strong schedule to this point. The Bills could very well come up with the upset of the week here. The team is young but throughout the season, they have been gaining valuable experience. We could see the team turn into a solid group at any time. Once they get into a groove, look out. This particular game could be interesting with the Saints giving up more than 5yds per carry on the ground. They have been giving up a lot of ground when teams run right up the middle. Bringing up a big back like Wingo from the PS could be a good thing. Look for the defense to attack Brees. With Mario getting all of the attention, the big guys will need to collapse the pocket or open up holes for Kiko and speed rushers outside. NO has not faced a pass rush like this all year and the Bills have the tools to make them uncomfortable. As for the offense, I have been pretty impressed so far. Both star backs injured and still producing at a high level is amazing. A third game for Thad to get in sych with the receivers is good too. No matter what the experts think, this Bills team will compete in this game. They might just surprise everyone. -

The next four games = the season

And if they win against the Saints and Chiefs? That happens, the Bills never look back. Think about it. Winning against the 5-1 Saints on the road, and then the undefeated Chiefs at home would mean that Buffalo's team finally found some consistency. It would mean that the issues they have been dealing with have been overcome. They have been in every single game this year. It should not come as a surprise if this young team finally figures some things out and starts playing well in all phases of the game. I would not be surprised if this is exactly what they are banking on. I'm just imagining Fred Jackson telling the team to go down to New Orleans and fight like rabid dogs. How can you not be inspired by this guy? There is a long way to go, but the way to approach this thing from a player's point of view, is focus on the next opponent and find a way to beat them. They don't have any other options than that. Stay focused and get ready for the next one and it's simply done one win at a time. It will be interesting to see if Buffalo can hang with New Orleans. If they do somehow find the right formula, they will be doubly determined to take out KC the following week, but from their perspective, they just can't look at that yet. The Saints are up next. When you think of it looking through a player's eyes, it just seems to be so much easier to Billieve. I have seen improvement from this team in a lot of areas. It seems that every game however has an area that they have needed to address. I'd like to see a game where everything falls into place for them and I can't help thinking that the players are diligently improving their craft every time they step onto the field. -
Take a stroll behind enemy lines
Rockinon replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only three teams in the NFL are worse at running the ball than the one-dimensional Miami Dolphins. And Miami's offense is second to last when it comes to sacks allowed per pass attempt (a takedown every 7.58 attempts). The Bills defense is now ranked 3rd in the league in sacks with 21. Game over. -

Time of Possession Miami 29th 26:59, Buffalo 28th 27:03 -
Now if they can just sustain longer drives and increase time of possession they might be on to something.

Is Kyle Williams the problem with the run defense?
Rockinon replied to BuffaloPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the biggest issue is TOP. The Bills must be among the worst in time of possession. Which means the offense needs to offense needs to step up. -

Bills Inactives for Bengals game

Gilmore is active but Mckelvin will be the starter here. Gilmore not wearing pads. -
Don't forget Goodwin was considered a major play maker by the coaches going into the season. He's had all week to practice too. He can get behind defenders on slant routes quick too. Cincy can hurt themselves by being too aggressive. I'm not expecting Thad to tear it up with passing but I do like how he is able to extend plays by rolling away from the pass rush. There are a lot of ways to attack this defense. One is simply running a read option attack. This just happens to be one of Thad's strengths and why the coaches feel he is a better option than some other QBs out there.
-
They gotta catch him first. You need to wipe your arse after that remark.
-
Cincy is ranked 30th in touch back percentage. Goodwin will have opportunities. You probably are the one that lets out a real stinker of a silent fart and then blames it on someone else.
-
I'd be disappointed if he is booed. Coach has expressed his admiration for the guy and he doesn't strike me as a guy who pulls punches. That's good enough for me.
