Top ten reasons to look forward to next season ....
billsintaiwan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
6. Bill Bellicheat gets two extra weeks off next year because he can outcoach Jauron from Bermuda - even if he has had a little too much rum to drink That is funny. laughing on a rainy morning in taiwan. -
He has made some bad gameday decisions. I have to believe he has learned from his mistakes. He isn't an idiot. and trust me, i know this is not the strongest argument since the guy has had more than a few nfl games to get this stuff down. still, the bills are young and while you can blame jauron for being conservative at the end of the half against the pats, you can't fault him for duke preston acting like an idiot. People on this board who want to trade peters or fire jauron are swinging blindly in the dark. maybe peters is a malcontent. he is also one of the best LTs I have seen. better than will wolford was in his prime. better than bruce armstrong was when he gave bruce all he could handle. maybe not munoz due to some inconsistency, but i think he gets better. jauron has not been the second coming of shula, but he isn't hank bullough either. i will join his fan club because he is the best option for the bills going into 2009. Patience, grasshoppers, the team will rise.

Bring back Marv Levy as Coach, 3 year deal !!
billsintaiwan replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
a very important thing to remember about marv is that he didn't start to win big time until he relinquished control of the offense to kelly. his real talent was in knowing that he had a talented team and to not stand in its way. he didn't look so hot when todd collins became qb and dan henning ran the offense. -
This Dude Gets a Free Pass, Why?

No doubt -
you're right (mostly). i'm breaking one of my rules this week by betting on the home team. anyway the odds have shifted with my book to buffalo -1. money on the dolphins coming in. unless miami goes nuts with the run, i don't see them winning.

The end of the "we reached for Whitner" argument.
billsintaiwan replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
harsh but 100% correct -
this is the sort of line that begs people to bet the bills. seems to good to be true. i am going with our guys, but it is a classic enticement line. apologies for the many years of cynicism and roller coaster parlays behind this post.

exactly. also the great bills teams were always able to run the ball. that is the key to an december success for our '08-09 bills

The end of the "we reached for Whitner" argument.
billsintaiwan replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The analogy seems to offer very little in addition to being totally inappropriate as football is merely a game and too many people are dying in Iraq when the original reason for going in, to stop WMD development proved meaningless. indeed! let's keep politics and football separate. i like this board because there is way way less patriotic jingoistic chest thumping than on buffalobills.com, and the level of football knowledge is at least a step or two higher! -
The end of the "we reached for Whitner" argument.

drafting whitner was a good idea and bribing locals not to kill the troops or iraqi police (the surge) was long overdue! -
PTI throws Trent out there for MVP consideration.

i think there is zero basis for wanting rodgers over edwards. the "cold weather" theory is silly since rodgers hasn't played in cold weather and edwards had to play in a steve fairchild offense. december is about running the ball and the great bills teams always ran the ball well. -
Rivers made a couple mistakes, Warner made virtually none. SD was moving the ball at will, but three plays made the difference. we had a couple chances in the AZ game to turn the tide (most notably youboty's dropped int after the losman-evans bomb), but it never happened. and, with apologies to Losman fans, Edwards makes this team believe. He answered when it counted, never turned the ball over, and (correct me if i'm wrong) did not have any three and outs. The guy is a winner. Losman is a scratch off lottery ticket. let's keep it rollin'! it has been a long time since we've had a team like this.

10 yard line -
they don't have any football at all anymore. they do love the NBA and, more importantly, the Yankees. they broadcast every yanks game and, thanks to the magic of the SAP button, one doesn't have to listen to the voiced over broadcast. though, truth be told, i sometimes listen to the mandarin broadcast when ken singleton and al leiter get the call.

hey man, what i usually do is listen to the games while lapsing in and out of sleep and then download a torrent within a day or so after. the site i use is http://leech.tenyardtorrents.com/search.php you will have to upload a reasonable amount (0.3 ratio) to maintain access. there are some great classics on there too, but they aren't seeded particularly well. the internet here is pretty good, but i hate looking for video feeds at one in the morning and prefer watching the game when i have plenty of time to go through it. also with downloads you don't have to deal with all the bloody commercials. there is one guy who does a good job and is pretty prompt. he puts the games up in HD, which is cool. one problem might be the size of the download which has been anywhere from 2.8 to 3.5 GB. I have an old Mac mini, so storage and speed are issues.

it was one of those games where there were the refs seemed to decide that AZ would have to be pretty blatant to be penalized. the refs seemed to get caught up in the atmosphere of the stadium. it wasn't as bad as any given patriots game last year, but it wasn't good. still there was no doubt that jenkins, in what will hopefully be his stupidest play of the year, lined up offside on a 4th&2 chip shot field goal.

and...Wow...the game would have been entirely different if, on the defensive series after the losman to evans bomb, either 1. youboty makes a pretty easy interception or 2. ryan denney stops hightower in the backfield (as he easily should have) on a third down play. AZ was really not looking good until hightower made that play. an interception or three and out changes the whole complexion of the game. the defense, quite simply, did not give the team a chance to win. i know this is several days late, but i usually have to download the games. the advantage is that i have complete control and can watch several plays over and over. one other conclusion: Adrian Wilson deserves a beat down somewhat for edwards, but more so for ripping off lynch's helmet.
