I'm not trying to be difficult but why would Jason Peters be motivated to improve? Two consecutive pro-bowl seasons now and his confidence seems to be overflowing which is in contrast to the reality of his play this season. Yes Lynch and Jackson are having great seasons but can that all be attributed to Peters? It seems that the running game was all but absent when the Bills were minus Brad Butler. If the Bills pay Peters which I think they will do only after another holdout then I fear that they are merely getting an average LT for the top dollar.

Seriously, I mean the guy called me the other day to be the GM and I am by all means a retarded person.

Which is completely weird because you would think that having ears the size of Ralph's one could sense anything from 1000 miles away. His ears have become more entertaining than this team.

Yeah, I'm all about people being expressive but there was something very weird and uncomfortable about that text.

It would be nice if at least one player or coach would come out and say that losing games is difficult and hard to work thru. They don't have to call eachother out and get negative but maybe just have a realistic response to their own mediocrity. Instead we get what you referenced, one huge delusional family that is deluding itselft all the way to the bank.

Hoping for a lousy player to be brought back down to earth is hardly an idiotic notion. There were many on this board who enjoyed many of JP's horrendous outings (although no one will probably admit it), the negative play of JP showed many of us (I was a former JP supporter until midway last season) that Trent was worth the draft pick and worth the development time. Negation can be a great teacher.

Bobby April ... it's been mentione before ...
generaLee83 replied to puppet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Solid post especially the part about the turnover he has worked through. I do not think that April would need to strip this team and start over as some feel the next HC is going to do. Sure he is going to add a few guys or cut a few but it woult not resemble the overhaul that Shlong Jauron and Levy began. -
Langston Walker says it...

What do you want to debate? That he is a better QB than a pile of human excrement or is he a better QB than a pile of dog excrement? I go with the dog excrement. -
I think that Edwards' pathetic sense of positivity comes directly from Shlong Jauron. These players love Jauron (apparently so much that a certain QB feels the need to send a hacky, overly emotional txt message to a coach) because he does not drive them hard. Jauron's Priorities: 1. Make sure players are happy and treated well. 2. Win the game. That text message was sickening.

Do you still think he is a top LT? I strongly disagree with anything even close to this. Peters has flat out sucked this season and now his confidence seems to be at an all time high. In his own mind he is still the best LT in football, his recent comments show this. The scenario that I envision is this: Peters plays terribly to finish out the year. "Terrible" to you, me and anyone who has been watching is the same as "outstanding" to him. He will hold out again next season and pull the same crap he did this year. (BTW did he ever actually get fined? Was there a settlement? Were there any repercussions at all?) The Bills have become a soft organization thanks to Dick's philosophy and will probably give into Peters' demands instead of seeking a trade. He will become very highly paid yet his skill set will remain the same, in his own mind he is a stellar player and is not in need of improvement. This year's play was "pro-bowl" so why the hell would he try harder next year? So since I see nothing other than a pathetic end to this situation I can only hope that now in garbage time he gets exposed for what he truly is. If this game meant anything at all I would hope that he would have a dominant game and that the Bills would win but my personal sentiment is in favor of delusional and cocky people getting their comeuppance.

Give me your plan to win the Superbowl in 2010
generaLee83 replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Fire Dick Jauron, replace with Bobby April. 2. Take whatever you can get for Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay and draft/sign at least 2 pass rushers. 3. Find another receiver that can produce immediately. 4. Fire Dick Jauron. -
The season is over anyway, he deserves to get laughed off the field. His blatant arrogance is only matched by his mediocre play and delusions of grandeur. I guess one could make the point that if he plays well he may up his trade value in the offseason but for some reason I have a feeling that the softness of the Bills organization will somehow let him holdout again and miss training camp, they will end up paying him big bucks and he will continue to suck. I however don't care to make that point since I'm disgusted with this entire organization, I hope he fails miserably. Not like this game was going to be won by the Bills anyway.

We could all be wrong but there is some damning history with Dick Jauron. One winning season in 9 years with most victories coming against sub-.500 teams. 3 consecutive non-winning seasons here in Buffalo. Now he has what I would consider a monumental collapse on his resume. From 5-1 to most likely 6-10? Lost 9 of 10 to finish the season? It's hard to speculate, maybe he can turn it around if given one more season or maybe he's going to do what he's always done. Coach well against terrible teams and get owned by better teams. I for one feel that if Bobby April was promoted there would be a good chance of winning season next year, I do not think that he would clean house and start over. Given his ability and skill to work with what he's given I think he would be more of a winner than Dick.

Bills special tems once again special...
generaLee83 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do they do it? Coaching. Bobby April's special teams unit regularly has turnover but he manages to find and motivate good players that fit in and play well. This is why I think he should be given a shot at HC. -
While the records don't lie I would like to see how Billy B. faired against teams that were over .500. Who you beat sais a lot about the types of teams you bring up. If someone can show me that Billy B was as horrible as Dicky J. initially when it came to tough games I would consider giving Dick a break.

Start McKelvin over Greer no matter?
generaLee83 replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very tough decision, maybe by some act of intelligence the Bills will re-sign him and if this is the case then he should certainly start. It should be noted that good decisions are a rarity with this organization so not only do I expect him to sign somewhere else but I also expect the Bills to know this but also give him the start. Just look at JP Losman the last few weeks, he is gone at the end of the season but they failed to give Hamdan some reps. Dick Jauron fails on every possible level. -
I'd really like to see how that 41-55 record breaks down in wins vs losses against good teams. I'm going to bet that Belicheat probably had a better record against +.500 teams and may have even occasionally won a "big" game. I recently read a post here that stated that only twice since taking over as HC of the Bills has Jauron beaten a team with a winning record. If this is true then Dick should be fired immediately, don't even let him finish the season.

It was fun sarcasm Simon, I have always liked Sage's posts.

I'm on overboard mode for some reason today, probably because in 1 hour and 33 minutes I'm going to watch another pathetic performance from his team. Jauron is no criminal but he seems to be able to operate with the suave and verbal abilities of a good con man which in my experience is the small step prior to being a sociopath. It just blows my mind that the fans, the media and people with minimal football knowledge (my wife) are able to identify the major problems with Jauron after watching the Bills play for only a few games while the entire team and organization are apparently sold on him as head coach. Maybe we are all completely wrong with our observations and interpretations of such but the only way I can justify him still being employed by the Buffalo Bills is that he has somehow duped them. He always gives the right answers at press conferences, his players love him and apparently even Ralph after last weeks "talent" remarks still sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

I am probably too harsh on Stroud, I guess I was ecstatic when he was traded for because like others I was convinced that he would be the final ingredient to build an amazing line. While the line has improved it's run stopping abilities they still get gashed from time to time and have no pass rush but that isn't his fault. As for the DE's I hope you would agree that they have been nothing short of horrendous. I think the Bills are the only team that utilizes the "sprint 30 yards downfield and work backwards" approach to rushing the passer. I think that even I could get a coverage sack every now and then using this method.
-
Wow, the profanity wasn't necessary. Fact is that this defensive line sucks and if the DE's aren't capitalizing on these "opportunities" that you speak of then maybe these "opportunities" aren't actually there. This line looks no different than in years past, the addition of Marcus Stroud has not improved them as a unit.
