  1. I don't understand. What was so bad about his response. Something I missed here. BTW, before you call me a "rook" I've been on this board for 5 years under a different name.
  2. I thought the Bills started playing good defense towards the end of the year. We weren't giving up a lot of points (except for the Titans game). Their run defense was not good but a little better as they started to understand the schemes better. I think we'll be better against the run this year just based on experience in the new defense.
  3. Karma...Eric...Karma. It always comes back to haunt you. Now you beg to come back, but I assure you won't be coming back.
  4. Actually, not to nitpick...but Marv held this same position with the Alouettes as well as coach. He was a director of personnel (pseudo-GM, sort of speak). Marv was influential in the drafts back then with the Bills too. He did not have the final say as Bill P did and AJ did the scouting, but he had a lot of input based on his experience. The gentleman who said the Bills 90ish drafts suck, I think was being too harsh. Granted, a lot of guys didn't make the team, but a lot of that has to do with the strength and depth of our football team. We had a lot of continuity for awhile where it was difficult to unseat even the backups because of their outstanding STs play.(Carwell Gardners, Mark Pikes, etc.)
  5. Why would anyone want damaged goods that we don't want? Do you really think they will give us an all-pro for TKO and a 3rd round pick? Somebody explain this logic...
  6. Did you read Marv's book? I guarantee that Marv had a lot of influence on those picks last year while being flexible and listening to his staff as well. DJ will not advise Marv to go defense, Marv has already decided on it based on the teams' needs. When Marv was in KC, his asz-hole GM wanted him to draft a QB every year, but Marv held out for Art Still and Mike Bell in consecutive years. Trust me, no one influences Marv once he has his mind made up. The reason why Marv brought in DJ is because they have the same philosophy and there would be very good camraderie. Everyone on this board should read Marv's book. It will give you better insight into how things should go in the future for this team. Marv is one of the best talent evaluators around. It's no coincidence the Bills had great players in the early 90s, and had an excellent looking draft last year. Someone needs to tell ESPN that.
  7. I agree... and Tim Shaw has bust written all over him. Big combine numbers...big deal. Don't take personally, but I don't like this draft at all.
  8. You would pass up on Peterson in the draft to take Pos. Since they are both needs, but AP is rated higher, you have to go with Petersen. AP is a franchise back and the best one in the draft. How could you even think of passing him up for a much lower rated player.
  9. The Pat Williams' loss that was the demise of our #2 defense. Apparently, Phat Pat has had as much or more success with the Vikings as he has made the play of his alter-ego Kevin a better player. Now I know why somebody as successful as Cowherd didn't get along with Teflon. Obviously, the Steelers tradition of drafting interior lineman for the running game had nothing to do with Tom.
  10. I think we draft a rb and lb in the first two rounds...not sure which way, though. Depends on availability. CB/DT in the third and OG in the fourth...or something completely different.
  11. Tell your buddy Lee Evans has a chance to be the BEST receiver in football next year. I don't think Kevin 'midget" Curtis is even in the top 30. Sorry, But I'll take Josh Reed over Curtis as well.
  12. What makes one think we need a corner in the first round? Think about it...do you think Leon Hall in his first season will be any more effective than Youboty in his second? That would be a wasted pick. Lynch will be available and we will take him because there are solid linebackers available in the second round but the rb talent drops off. Maybe a corner in the third.
  13. We are NOT drafting Okoye. He plays the same position as Triplett and McCargo.
  14. I rather give Spikes another year of rest and see if he can still play (unless the braintrust has already ruled him out). If Spikes id gone and we draft Willis, we are better off with Ellison and Crowell as OLBs. June is no better than those guys...and Ellison, IMHO, is going to be an impact linebacker for us. Let's not just throw money around for players just because we know their name. He's not that good.
  15. AGAIN, we are NOT taking Okoye. He plays the SAME position as Tripplett and McCargo. It would essentially be a wasted pick unless we have no plans for Triplett. Patrick Willis is the best option on defense.
  16. That's not going to happen.
  17. Wilis only proved why Marv was right to trade him. But the media doesn't pick up on such things like that. Expect the Bill-bashing to start through the draft.
  18. I think we just sign AT for now (WHAT"S TAKING SO LONG?) and go into the draft looking for the best available rb that fits Fairchild's style. Hell, we might draft two.
  19. If we sign Chris Brown along with AT, you're right, we are going full out on the defensive side on day one with maybe a receiver or rb sprinkled in there on the third pick. We could also move down in the draft, still get a solid lb and pick up a second as well.
  20. Did he say why he hasn't been signed yet???
  21. I love this. Then the Bills get their extra second and draft best available athlete or a CB.
  22. No, I don't think he is a Marv guy...but i didn't know that so how would I know he wasn't a Marv guy.
  23. He would be good signing allowing Youboty to develop. But, Marv knows better than us.
