I think it would have been more of a mistake to keep him honestly. It would have created a very awkward locker room and allowed for teammates and fans to openly question, when the rookie would inevitably struggle, "should we just play the vet?" Right move was to cut him, move on.

I'm not really sure what your beef is with Kelly. Like he said, this is a message board and we are just talking, mostly about what we hope will happen or based on what we've heard. Keep in mind the injuries to our secondary to start the season. Justin Rogers was our starting CB for the first 4 games and cost us two wins and did his best to lose use the Baltimore game We also had weeks that our RB core was decimated, we started 3 different QBs and TJ Graham started wayyyy to many games year due to injury. The eagles were healthy all year and got better after Vick was hurt.
