A track shift to the South may save Tampa from the unprecedented storm surge into Tampa Bay, but it is only a small measure of help for the Gulf Coast of SW Florida....people are saying to expect "un-survivable" conditions down there.

As for my area, a track shift to the south means less wind, but more rain......maybe a foot of rain. Did not flood my neighborhood with 18.5 inches of rain from Ian, but at this point, who knows.

Now it looks like the East Coast of the State from Brevard County north to Jacksonville is going to get beaten up pretty badly as well after the storm crosses the Peninsula and enters the Atlantic.

I guess no one will escape this storm without some degree of impacts.

Sucks to be a Floridian right now......wish I could pick up my entire house and transport it to Las Vegas for a couple of weeks!!

Well and also Joe Staley's speciality was defense and their defense was legitimately terrible. Saleh's defense has been elite, probably the best in the league this year. So what improvements is Ulbrich supposed to make? Hackett is still there so the offense isn't changing. There's really nothing positive that can come from making the change now.

That’s a good point. That chargers roster had plenty of talent. I’m not surprised they played hard the next week.

As to the Jets, Salah sucked as a HC. Hackett shouldn’t even be in the league, much less coordinating an offense. They probably fired the wrong guy, for now (Though both deserve to be fired)

    Levis

I wish Levis was a better QB. He plays like Allen but far less polished. He’s fun, but also has tons of WTF plays. If he ever calms down and plays within himself, he could be a good player. Unfortunately, I think it’s more likely he’s not the starter next year

I don't think this is going to be a traditional "interim head coach" bump. That usually comes after everybody on the team knows the season is over and the change sparks some kind of excitement. This feels like the opposite. They are five games in with a chance to take control of the division on primetime and suddenly the rug gets pulled out. I think the team will be demoralized if anything. I was planning on predicting an ugly Bills loss but now I predict an ugly Bills win.

I watched a bit of Ulbrichs press conference. He talked about changing the roles of staff and generally spoke about how sad he was salah was gone. I think the feeling in the building is far more like “oh *****” and less so about “we got this”

Sometimes firing is fully justified (I believe it is in this case) but it feels like the owner is expressing no confidence in the team. The GM is probably on the way out. The entire coaching staff is basically fired. Their QB is 40 and looks it. I think it’s more likely they implode than have a great run. Most guys are gonna be lining up their next jobs and it’s not even halfway through the season.

People pointing out the Chargers last year playing us tough after Staley was fired. They were professional athletes that got absolutely embarrassed a week earlier. They were going to show up and play hard that week no matter if it was Staley coaching them or somebody else

  5. He's going to struggle. I like Maye, but that is a rough position to be in. That team has very little talent

As an aside, the Pats* move on from BB, which was the right move IMO. But the fact they didnt even do a coaching search at all and just hired Mayo is still Bizarre to me

Saleh isn't a good coach but he isn't/wasn't the problem

He was a huge problem. The fact that people love to point out “his defense is good, so it’s not his fault” is ridiculous. There was a report that for the first time in his 3+ seasons as a HC, he was attending offensive meetings. Which means, he had no idea what was happening on that side of the ball

He is the HC and is responsible for everything that happens within the building. Even if it’s not his specialty, it’s shows a lack of accountability over his team. It also explains why the offense has been such a ***** show since he got there. Rodgers said they need to hold guys accountable and Salah said they should change the cadence. He was a terrible HC. Jets should have fired him last year and they didn’t simply to keep Hackett around for Rodgers

Salah was not the problem. A clearly declining HoF QB who now lacks mobility behind a bad O-line is the problem. And that hasn't changed.

That team was losing games by being completely undisciplined. This is a new issue for the Jets either. They've been boom or bust his entire time there. They should have fired him last year.

Everyone points out he has a good defense. They have 6 first rounders on defense! they had better be elite

Once the decision was made on Diggs, what could Beane have done given our poor cap situation for this season?  He had to shop in the bargain bin, and that is why we ended up with MVS and Hollins (and Samuel as a low mid-priced free agent acquisition).  We will see if Coleman turns out to the right pick in the draft, but our cap situation dictated the limited additions we were able to make to our WR group and our roster in general in free agency or trades.

I agree on the whole bargain bin, but I cant believe they didnt draft a second WR in a strong draft class after losing Diggs and Gabe

doesn't their D kinda suck?  correct me if im wrong but i feel like they are a bit sloppy and le up big plays too much.

    exciting team for sure tho

Yeah their pass rush is pretty bad. In a weak NFC, that may not matter as much as it would in the AFC

42 of 58 with at least two spikes of the ball

    Amazing

I was wrong about that FA signing

Kirk has been awesome. The Falcons are my sneaky pick to win the NFC. That team is loaded. If there was a ever a team that was a QB away, it was Atlanta last year. Raheem Morris said something in his intro presser about if the falcons had a QB last year, he might now be there

He’s starting to feel closer to Chan Gailey now where he came up with a good system that worked for awhile but then got figured out and he can’t adjust.

This is a great comparison. Difference being that McDaniel has Hill and Waddle and Gailey had Stevie and David Nelson

Ok?  He took 5 sacks on 19 attempts.

Well that’s not great. I saw 13-19 100 yards, that at least serviceable backup numbers.

I still stand by the fact that not being able to score with Tyreek Hill, Waddle and Achane is insane, regardless of who is at QB

To not have a top-level backup QB, knowing Tua’s history and having seen Skylar last year, is criminal. Lock McDaniel and Grier up.

Everyones backup sucks. Theres a lot to rip on them for, but Skyler was playing ok in Seattle until he got hurt. The fact they can't score without Tua is a major problem though.
