Anyone still on the Kirk Cousins train?
Captain Hindsight replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You should go watch some of his INTs. Some of them are god awful, as in "I cannot believe he threw that pass" awful -
It really bothers me that I can't say I'm worried about KO. He is the better QB and the majority of posters believe that and are saying that. Having doubts about a journeyman QB after watching a few great games from not great QBs the past 14 years does not make one a hater. But thats JMO. Turnovers concern me, taking sacks concerns me. Is it rust? Learning the O? Or is this a habit that could become a big problem? These are legitimate questions and concerns IMO. I hope he becomes a playoff QB for us, I really do. But I can't deny I have some doubts he can do this for an entire year. I hope he proves me wrong

So are the all white uni's at home a thing now?
Captain Hindsight replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have played a number of home games the last few years in all white. I think they are slowly making the transition that those will be our home Unis -
My cousin must be using my account again! That rat bastard!

I don't hate Orton, I'm just not ready to anoint him anything beyond placeholder right now. My biggest concern is he will get figured out. It happens to Journeyman QBs fairly often. I don't know if it will happen to KO, but history has taught me to not get too excited yet about his play. KO should be the starter the rest of the year. Unless we are eliminated from the postseason then they should see if their prized QB has learned anything.

Let's give credit where credit is due...

Without the Defense we would be o-for this season. This is very clear -
This game really worries me. The Jets gave NE all they could handle and if not for a blocked kick, may have actually won. The Jets are not nearly as bad as people think they are and they just got a shiny new toy they will want to show off. That shiny new toy is likely wanting blood after being shipped for a box of used tape
-
This is my feeling too. I saw Orton take some really bad sacks yesterday and against NE. By far he is our best option right now but I'm just waiting for some team to figure him out. Journeyman QBs usually have a weakness that can be exploited.

Cousins ain't one of them. -
It was tough to watch at times, I really thought they were going to blow it but they won so I'm good

Ill be there. Taking a party bus for my sisters Bday. One of my good friends is a Vikes fan and was going to come to this game until he accepted a job in Florida so I hope I can talk some smack Monday

Brandon: Continuity the No. 1 variable
Captain Hindsight replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Russ has a valid point. Does this mean every coach gets a lifetime contract? I hope not, but guys like Marvin Lewis, Tomlin, Cowher have all had chances to clean it up and get better after a bad season. Instead of continually blowing it up, maybe we let a system grow for a few years. I don't love Doug Marrone, but I think he has enough talent on this roster that he could make it work. Just need the QB -
The all Sam Bradford thread
Captain Hindsight replied to NextYearGuys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? EJ is regarded to have incredible character. No way he is looking to cause a distraction. Very little downside to keep him on the roster I think his second year is a player option. Expect him to do the same as Matt Cassel. Opt out, get more money -
I hate cheering for the Jets
Captain Hindsight replied to frogger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats the most likely scenario -
The all Sam Bradford thread
Captain Hindsight replied to NextYearGuys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bradford would be a great signing. He was a number one overall pick for a reason and if not for a fluke injury in the preseason he would limey be lighting up St. Louis right now. People forget how little help he had in the early years of his career. Think Alex Smith and how horrible he looked until he finally got a decent team around him. I would be ecstatic if they got Bradford and had someone like Orton (Who I bet will opt out of his contract btw) here just in case -

Yup. I actually will not be surprised that the Jets are winning with time running out... then someone will breathe on Brady and the Jets lose in dramatic fashion -
What happened to the analytics guy?
Captain Hindsight replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
May have gone into the benching of EJ and less carries for Spiller or even less playing time for M. Williams -
Agree to disagree man. I've watched a lot of football in my life and IMO we have a mediocre QB. I would love to be proven wrong, but I don't see it
-
My whole point is how as Bills fans are we OK with Orton starting. EJ failed, we get it and now we are still up **** creek without a paddle This is more a story of the FO failing, than Orton. I get mad when I see people saying Orton isn't the problem when he clearly isn't the solution. The FO screwed the pooch, badly.
-
Do I really have to? Orton isn't a good starter. This is well documented over a ten year period. He is exactly 500 as a starter. He makes some great throws but holds the ball too long at times and showed some horrible pocket awareness on Sunday. His two INTs this year are inexcusable as a ten year vet. Stared down the corner and threw it right to him? Cmon man. Shaking off the rust is not excuse. He has been throwing a football for at least 25 years, 14 of which were at a major level college program or the pros. There are plenty of things to like about Orton. He's a tough guy and makes some great throws at times. He seems to have the respect of his peers which is all well and good but at the end of the day, he is mediocre starter. Guys like Brady, Manning ect (You know, playoff QBs) are going to out duel this guy every time. You would think after Watching Fitz for almost 4 years, Bills fans would know we have a below avg starter, again. He is our best option right now and I will not dispute that. But at the end of the day, can anyone really honestly say you are happy with Kyle Orton being your starting QB?
