Ko Simposn had a big rookie year for us and Whitner, while a bit of a disappointment, was a day 1 starter who played for 11 seasons. Far from our worst draft.

The thing that everyone always overlooks on bust drafts picks, is that in the vast majority of cases (unless you're Jacksonville, the Raiders or New England) that guy who was a massive disappointment for your team, was getting drafted in the next couple of picks if you didn't take him. The draft is just as much luck as it is skill.

If we didn't draft sammy watkins #4, he was going in the next couple picks. Same for Mike Williams, Ej Manuel, JP Losman, etc.

I always thought the Bills tried to jump GB for Losman. Gunslinger QB with a huge arm and athletic? Seemed like the perfect dude to sit behind Favre

We all knew the team of McBeane was going defense.

People need to understand that the number of people that can run routes and catch the football is an incredible amount compared to people the can block or set the edge effectively. It’s why guys like Marshall Newhouse can be traded for an asset and Bobby Hart will be in 3 different rosters in a season. It’s why Jadevon Clowney, who has been a massive disappointment, keeps getting contracts. Those guys are much harder to find. Teams should invest high resources into those guys

By the same token, guys like Gabe Davis (4th round) Shakir (5th Round) Diggs (5th round) can be effective players despite their draft number.

I haven't watched a lot of Fields, but I think he has a skill set reminiscent of Russ in his prime, so they can both work in the same type of offense.  My guess is that Russ will start the season with Fields as his backup.  If he can't recreate the form he had in Seattle, then Fields will get his shot.   Even if Russ excels and Fields doesn't see much playing time, I think that the Stillers may re-sign Fields for the future if he looks good in practice.

Fields has some of the worst field awareness in the NFL. If he wasn’t such a good athlete, he would have been benched long ago. But he makes a few highlight runs and people think he has some untapped talent.

Great athlete, great arm, horrible awareness. He fumbles like peterman throws picks. As long as Wilson is reasonable competent (which he will be) Fields will stay on the bench

  4. Harris was always one of my favorite patriots (gosh that hurt to write) Dude always ran hard and got the tough yards, fun guy to watch. Was happy when he signed here but was terrified when he got that neck injury. Hope he enjoys his well earned retirement

The cost of having kids now is astronomical. Even without kids I feel like me and the Mrs. can't go to the grocery store for any reason and not spend $100 even if it is just filling in some gaps in ingredients we already have.

I think about being/having a teenager now and the cost of vehicles in a town like Buffalo. Say you have a fairly outgoing kid. Plays a couple of sports, maybe a club, and a part time job a few days per week. Gone are the days of getting a part time job, saving birthday money, mowing some lawns, etc. and saving for a jalopy to get yourself where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there. Are parents expected to drop $400-$600 per month (plus down payment) on a lease? $10-$15k on a "junker"?  Or as money gets tighter and bosses start to clamp back down to "in person" for less money are parents supposed to leave work to take their kid everywhere?

I made a very concerted effort last weekend to spend as little as possible on groceries. Planned every meal, omitted things that I didn't need, no snacks, no beer, no extra drinks. 150 bucks. Hell, I've basically stopped drinking just because I can't afford it.

I don't know if you have been paying attention lately, but a lot of people are really struggling with the cost of living all over the country. Buffalo included.

It rough right now. My wife and were looking to buy a bigger house so we did a deep dive on our spending to see where its all going.

Daycare is by far the biggest cost. 2300 a month for 3 days a week 2 kids. I'm keeping them home with me for two days a week just to make sure I can feed them the rest of the month. I don't have some ***** job either.

If the PSLs come to me and are 5k, I'm not sure I can justify that when I'm struggling to pay for everything else each month. I hate that I have to make that decision, but its a reality so many people are dealing with. I've had seasons for 15 years on and off (took two years off for grad school and a job downstate) Would hurt to give them up, but priorities man.

If Fields ends up actually playing for Pittsburgh, which is possible, it turns into a fourth round pick.  So there's that...

Wilson will have to be monumentally bad for them to bench him. Tomlin knows it’s a playoff team with decent QB. I’d play the former SB winner over a guy that’s won 10 games in 3 years

Isn't that Miami clip from the Covid game where the Saints were picking able bodied people out of the crowd to play? Nice throw Tua
