I don't blame Trent one bit - I blame those who keep him on the field. We have a multi-million dollar receiving corps waiting for the ball to come their way, and all they hear is crickets chirping at the end of their routes. The reason why the dropped the few balls they got tossed their way this season is because they couldn't believe that Edwards actually threw them the ball. Yes, the line is bad, but throwing a ball or two more than 3 yards will make them think twice about bull-rushing your offense into futility. Can any of our backups be worse right now? Dickie, if you're listening, either pull the kid, or change his last name to Dilfer, and let our workhorses (Freddie and ML) carry us. Jesus, change something (I don't see any alternatives that can produce a worse result).

For Bills Fans with No ties to Buffalo
Force_Majeur replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I looked on a map of the USA that had football helmets near their cities. Buffalo was the only team in NY state, so I had to root for them. I, like a lot of others here, live in Jets/Giants country. I visited the Buffalo/Rochester region a lot in my college years, and there was always something that drew me to the tough, blue collar, hard working ethic of the city. The people were as warm as the weather was cold. I'll never forget being at a subway in downtown and having an old man start talking to me and my brother, out of nowhere, about whether or not Antoin(sp?) Smith wa going to do anything that season. And the way this team kept getting knocked down in the glory days and getting right back up, never quitting (Don Beebe) is inspiring to say the least. -
Marshawn Lynch vs. Fred Jackson
Force_Majeur replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are we watching the same backs? Regardless of Lynch's talents or potential, Jackson is clearly the better performer. Something about him is very Thurmanesque. -
The Bills have a decent chance of getting a proven coach
Force_Majeur replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team is far beyond a coaching band-aid right now. Ralphie boy interferes too much in personnel decisions. I can't understand why he just can' sit back, let someone build a great team, and watch the money and praise roll in. -
It's hard for me to believe that a guy who would shell out money to get a big name (TO) in here is cheap or doesn't want to win. I know he's a bit of a control freak (according to AJ Smith), but not nearly as cheap as some on this board think.

Do you blame Edwards for being shell-shocked?

I don't blame him, I blame the people who keep him on the field. -
Two things we could do RIGHT NOW
Force_Majeur replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about 1 thing - make teams think we can actually stretch the field a bit by taking a chance or two down field -
I am not a Browns fan, but that was AWESOME

we're a gift on our opponents schedule... -
Tell him no matter what happens, the refs turned in the best performance for the Steelers in this game

Mike Holgren is nodding his head, he knows this scenario...

The bottom line: The O-line kills everything
Force_Majeur replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on man, Drew Brees is Drew Brees, that's why. Seriously, he has Deuce down there, who forces defenses to play honest. That factor almost got them to a superbowl. -
Big bucks and a lot of years tied up in the OL

ROI is a great way to look at it, I love it!!!. If I were responsible for these numbers, I'd be fired on the spot. -

This is interesting. Any stats to compare how the running games did with JP vs TE? -

I just don't buy it. The original post was right. We relied too much on Trent and the passing game. Most of the mistakes we made today would have been wiped with an average running attack. It's almost zero-sum: lack of a running game removes options for you and gives them to the other team. -
When did we become a soft finesse team??
Force_Majeur replied to kbuckley9091's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd love to see us punish offenses for even daring to walk on the field. Make ball carriers think twice about touching the ball, Heinz Ward style. -
This team won't make the playoffs.
Force_Majeur replied to Dr. Fong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really don't think so. The question is: are they legitimately able to beat the Jets/Dolphins/Pats? The answer is definitely yes, much more so than in previous years. Then again, 0-2 is tough... -
There might be a correlation, but not as strong as the lack of a run game we're missing. It just makes us easy to defend, even if Reed was here.

Beastmode? LOL F'n BUSTMODE
Force_Majeur replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a bit out of line to call him "bustmode" the guy was obviously unhealthy and still made a real effort. Our run blocking is the real Bustmode. -
Is the board going to be overrun

He was doing the halftime and post game show on CBS. That's when he said it, dipstick. -

I laughed when Boomer Esiason said the same thing: "The Bills are really trying to give this game away" -

How is their win/loss record last season relevant today? -
It really was a great play by the defender. He capitalized off a bad decision.
-
No doubt it was 100% Edwards on that play - bottom line, bad choice. To say otherwise is blindness. My point is that sometimes you hold the ball a bit long because there's no one to throw to. If the Jets know that they're dropping back into coverage on almost every play, you can cheat, and make the offense look more inept than they are.
-
Yeah, when the Jets don't have to defend the run, they can throw a bunch of people back to cover our receivers. That's why it looked like Trent held the ball a bit too long at times. The root in this case: lack of a decent running game to offest that sort of crap.

I don't buy the money argument; He has put money down for players in the past. There is merit to the "Quieter Al Davis" rep. AJ Smith was screaming up and down about how much Wilson sticks his nose in stuff. Without Ralph, there would have been no RJ/Flutie controversy. Often times when owners interfere, the results aren't good: Al Davis Daniel Snyder Jerry Jones etc
