It's not Rex, the players, Whaley, scouting, or the owners; it's a combinations of it all. This is a culture infected with losing; Polian wrote about this losing culture in his book. The Steelers in the 70's, the Giants in the 80's, the Cowboys in the 90's, and the Patriots in the millennial all faced losing cultures and rebuilt completely. Look at the won - loss record, our drafts, and player development - all at best mediocre.

During the 1988 - 1999 time period, fans including myself would get livid just losing a regular season game thinking the world was coming to an end! We had different expectations then.

PLEASE!!! Tell me what coach and front office, anywhere in the NFL (at least winners), that would inherit a 9 - 7 team, with the 4th best defense, with playoff expectations, that lets his DC walk and reconstructs the defense where the finish in the bottom 20 the two following years!

Every day I see postings on this board rationalizing, excusing, hoping, blaming, thinking we are one or two players away from playoff nirvana. Despite 17 years of average play and really poor drafting, that includes Doug Whaley. I would love to hear Bill B. open and talk about the Bills; he would burn this organization down in twenty - four hours.

I would be willing to wager a large amount of cash that Rex is not coaching the Bills in 2017; TT may hang on! And though I'm not a fly on the wall at OBD, I'm fairly positive discussions have occurred regarding the pro and con of firing Rex before the last game.

My question is how could your hire Rex without knowing he planned to let Schwartz walk and reconstruct the 4th best Defense in the NFL 2014? Why would you do that? Then after last year let him continue! Insane!
