This is a great post - you talk about football hell in 1968; losing six QB's to injury, lousy coaching, and sitting in the Rockpile. Or in 1971, 1976, 1977, 1984, 1985. Yet I am more sold on this "process" than at anytime in Bills history, finally someone is attempting to change organizational culture! Now we need to work on fan culture...

More emotion and drama from TBD!

McD already a hypocrite by not committing to Tyrod at KC

Ah, I needed this post, common sense on TWD, very little on these days filled emotion, gibberish, and nonsense. -
Just so we understand each other, do you agree this team has been horribly mismanaged over the last 17 years? And how would you have remedied the situation, just suppose you were the CEO of the Bills AKA Jerry Jones, interested in your response - serious question no disrespect intended?

This board is about as crazy as its ever been; try to grasp that the Buffalo Bills Organization, over a 17/17 year period developed a lousy organization with a losing culture, now we demand the playoffs in McBeane's first year. Anyone who thought this team was even close to a playoff contender is seriously misguided, even with Dareus, Watkins and the rest of the mediocre over rated guys that we have discarded. Sorry, this is a process - check out previous rebuild jobs!

great point, we let the DC of a top five Defense walk and replaced it with Rex Ball!

2018 Offseason Will Define This Regime
vorpma replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good post, yes, 2018 draft had better come through out it will get Buffalo ugly, this board is mellow compared to what will be faced if they blow the draft! And they should have done what? Continue as is - business as usual over the last 17 years! -
McD ready to have a mental break down???

yup! -
Great post; this team was destined to hit rock bottom, if anyone seriously thinks the 2017 Bills were playoff contenders they were sadly mistaken - that includes Darius, Watkins, and Darby. Check out the 1989 Cowboys, a new Head Coach and owner who unloaded players for Draft Picks and then went on to build a power house, BTW, the finished 1989 1 - 13 and the fan base ready to lynch - America's Team 1 - 13. Bill Polian once stated the reason the Bills hit rock bottom so often is they hang onto fan favorites for too long; he was referring to 1968, 1970, 1971, 1976, 1977, 1984. The 2018 Draft is critical, this will be the new regimes operation and it needs to be good. As for me, I am still ready to trust the process, this organization has been horrible for 17 years, would rather be 5 - 11 and at least trying a new approach then continue at 8 - 8 forever!

You must be new to the NFL; the vision is clear - build a winning organization and culture. Unfortunately many fans think that happens overnight; ironic after this organization has failed miserably over the last 17 years!
-
Please explain to me how Sammy Watkins is responsible for this success? Just looked at his stats not real impressive but I'm sure he is blocking well!

I view the 2017 season the same manner as the 1978 season; the franchise collapsed 1976 - 1977 through poor drafting, coaching, and sub par talent (Kind of like now). Chuck Knox and Norm Pollom took over in 1978 and finished 4 and 12. The 1979 draft came through, we were in contention for the playoffs until week 15 in 79 then came the amazing 1980 season. Many calling for Chuck Knox to be fired until 1980. This franchise has been plagued by lousy scouting, drafts, FA signings, and lousy coaching for 16 years; anyone who honestly believed this team had playoff caliber talent going into this season is sadly mistaken. Since 1963 I have seen many ups and downs, but I like the process and will be patient with it; the rest of you can cry wolf!

Ok so we had to have it beaten into our heads.
vorpma replied to Bowl Winner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we need to relax, I view 2017 as equivalent to the 1978 season - Chuck Knox took charge and we had a few ups but many downs. But he inherited a really bad team, really bad drafts and a really bad organization. We had a great draft in 1979 and chased the playoffs into week 15 followed by the playoffs in 1980. Anyone who thought the Bills had playoff talent going into 2017 was sadly mistaken - this team has been a soup sandwich since 2001 and it will not change in one season; anyone who thinks Watkins, Darby, Gilmore, and Dareus would have made a difference needs to look at there production this year - they are still NFL flops! If the Bills draft bad in 2018 then I am ready to get concerned; still trust the process! -

What is your favorite Buffalo Bills memory?
vorpma replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too many: - OJ gaining 1,000 yards at the seven game mark on MNF with Howard Cosell and Don Meredith egging on the crowd - Beating the Dolphins and ending the streak. - Beating the Rams in 1980 and the curtain call - The 1987 season, we knew the team was back. - Sitting in Saudi Arabia with 500 military personnel watching the Bills demolish the Raiders to go to their first SB; lots of Buffalo pride that day. It made up for the 1968. 1971, 1972, 1976, 1977, 1984, and 1985 seasons! Almost! - The comeback game against the Oilers. - Flutie magic against Jacksonville Biggest Disappointment - The 1966 AFL Championship game, winner goes to first Superbowl and Bills get bear 31 - 7; back in those days you just expected them to win! -
Interesting Dareus post on facebook-Bills Mafia page
vorpma replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you serious? This guy has had one above average year since arriving but consistently under performed due to attitude. Bill Polian once stated the Buffalo Bills end up with really bad teams because they hang on to fan favorites who no longer produce! This post substantiates this statement! -
Beating Bengals would be more impressive than last two.

LA Ratings for Dolphins-Saints > Chargers-Eagles game
vorpma replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not quite accurate; I attended a game LA in 1985 with Eric Dickerson at his peak. Many empty seats and the fans present appeared bored. My friend who was an "LA Rams" stated that was pretty much the status quo in LA; too much entertainment competition. -
Another wasted draft choice from 17 years of poor scouting, drafting, coaching, and Front Office performance.

Attendance Issues in Cali and how it relates to us
vorpma replied to VaMilBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
During the mid 1980's I watched the Rams play in LA with Eric Dickerson at his peak! Despite running for well over 150 yards the stadium was half full and the fans were bored. Sorry, LA is not an NFL town and for those who dispute, there is a reason the city went without a team for such a long time. In addition, the NFL needs to get smart real quick and get politics out of the game; it is chasing fans away! Good post; I am one of the older fans who use to return to Buffalo once a year to attend a game; I came from a family that owned seasons tickets from 1960 until the early 1990's. I am not a fan of the new commissioner and believe he needs to get politics out of the game fast; players have first amendment rights on there own time and have a right to make a stand on any issue. The bottom line is many in flyover country are getting tired of this injection into the game and it is not only showing on cable sports channels but at the NFL gate. The Bills as an organization have been horrible for 17 years, that has worn many of the loyal base down; this and next year will determine where the team is heading and if it can recapture the passion the team had during the glory years. -

What's going on with ESPN and the NFL?
vorpma replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post! I am in North Carolina and frequent a Restaurant bar with seven TV's; they no longer show network or cable news or ESPN unless a game is being played. No one wants to get politics and/or life issues shoved in the face while trying to relax. I really hope the NFL is paying attention!
