Fergy used to hang out at some bar on Oliver Street in North Tonawanda to watch the Razorbacks play on Saturdays - maybe Klimeks? Smerlas and Haslett used to drop in to McKays Third Base on Oliver Street just down the road from Klimeks!

The Eagles were the first NFL team to visit the Rockpile and was probably the greatest pre - season game I ever saw; 4th quarter and both teams still playing starters. Tension almost like a playoff game and Tom Flores hooking up with Art Powell, both having a great night. Tom Flores gets injured and in comes Jack Kemp to loud and thunderous boo birds. First snap Kemp hits Dubenion for a 69 yard TD turning the boo birds to a standing ovation

But the signing was announced the next day; I was at that game and loved to watch Lombardi pace the sideline. Mini Max Anderson had a big night!

1977, The Washington Redskins beat the Bills 10 - 0; it was cold, small crowd, really sloppy football, and the Bills really sucked! During the 4th quarter the few Bills fans attending were openly hostile chanting "We Want Wilson!" Man I remember that! 1968, another nightmare season, Chargers beat the Bills 21 - 6; just horrible play. You know it's bad when the home team gets a standing ovation getting a first down!

I am not going there, but I do believe Biscuit fancies himself as an enlightened modern version of "Che" out to save the downtrodden!

Lot's of credence to this, Giants had a big physical offense line and Jeff Wright, Smerlas replacement at nose tackle was a speed and finesse guy. Smerlas size ability may have at least slowed OJ Anderson; great post DCBongo!
