  1. These guys are killing me, could not stop laughing at that one; man what happened to TBD? Seriously, I question some of those who post here really follow the game or are just looking for a passing fancy?
  2. And this current regime, in place for less than two years, is at fault for the 23 years without a playoff win! Interesting concept at play here. But I can tell by your post your on top of things!
  3. You are correct, I stand corrected; but it known a serious power struggle occurred between Whaley and Cowher; he arrived after Maybin! You have on both and my humble apology. But I stand firm that if Whaley was competent, he would be in the NFL today and not Vince McMahon circus league, the XFL.
  4. Watkins is a mediocre receiver who never lived up to being drafted in the first round, not a clutch player, and has a bad attitude! KC can keep him, but he was run off by the Rams.
  5. Your wrong, Whaley was the Personnel Director under Buddy Nix and he did draft Maybin and Dareus, EJ was more than likely Buddy Nix although not sure what role Whaley played. Bottom line is Bill Cowther and Whaley engaged in a power struggle over drafting and Whaley lost, he has a lousy draft record and inability to work with his coaches! Like I said, he is not working in the NFL for a reason!
  6. Sure, we can almost go .500 for the next twenty years thinking next year - we are so close when in reality we are truly a sub .500 team; 2001 - 2016. Or we can rebuild with competent scouting, drafting, FA signings and become a true playoff team with longevity. You choose! How about that as a concept rather than the temper tantrum "I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW AND IF NOT I WANT EVERYBODY FIRED - YEARLY!
  7. Good point but I do think Marone would have done much more with competent drafts!
  8. Doug "almost .500 for years" with EJ Emanuel and Aaron Maybin; please tell me what Watkins is doing and Darius aint doing all that great. BTW, one former Bill Doug Marone is doing pretty good but he did not think much of Whaley!
  9. Nobody in the NFL seems at agree with that; if he could find talent and build a team he would be NFL material not in the circus league! Who is Brandon, go sober up now!
  10. Hard to figure why he did not land a GM position in the NFL, many on this board thought he was great!
  11. Nope, not at all! My point is many on this board cannot grasp that from 2001 until 2016 this was a failed organization and needed a complete rebuild. Many expected 2018 to be a rough season, if Josh Allen comes on and we start winning games that is a step forward! A huge step forward!
  12. Maybe for you; me I want a team that competes much like the 1990's Bills; I have watched three Bills teams rebuild after dismal seasons much like or worse than 2018. Lot of fun once it comes together but it takes time and most of all patience! I'd rather watch 2018 with hope than yawn through 2001 - 2016 knowing the end each December!
  13. Do you want to keep losing for the next twenty years, build a mediocre almost .500 team that keeps you thinking next year is the year only to finish just under .500, or build a competitive team that wins above .500 with playoffs for the foreseeable future? Sorry kids, these things don't happen overnight and this team has been poorly run since 2000; takes time and drafting!
  14. Don't mean you are right either; time will tell!
  15. You have have no concept whatsoever!
  16. Good post, always a good read! Kind of concerned about Daboll, I expected greater things!
  17. I think maybe you are living in a dream world, try to return to reality - Jim Harbaugh is not coming to Buffalo; and if he did TBD would him in time too!
  18. If you view things in an overly simplistic manner - whatever does it for you!
  19. They don't have a clue, ha ha! Why in hell's name would Jim Harbaugh leave Michigan for any amount of money; your smoking crack dude! And if he did, you would still have to rebuild and reconstruct the team; this board would be screaming to fire him in no time at all, you included! Thank you, great post my friend steeped in reality!
  20. Who and where are you getting this "better QB Room," not exactly lot of teams willing to part with above average QB's and if you break the bank on one your still not going to win.
  21. The important take away is the SB 1990's began in 1985, a 2-14 season and a process over a five year period. Over a 14 year period the Bills were in the playoffs 10 seasons (Just missing 1987, 1994, 1997, and 2000) and I remember all hell breaking lose when they lost a game despite ten win and over seasons. Great drafting, FA signings, and coaching made it happen just not overnight.
  22. With a new, HC, GM. QB, and owner every year! I know, all of our discarded players are perennial All Pros leading teams to Super Bowls, Doug Whaley the hottest GM prospect out there and bidding wars for Rex Ryan; I think we did blow it with Marrone but he wanted away from Whaley!
  23. Truly the best and most intelligent post ever on TBD; thanks again oldmanfan! Remember 1968 and Ed Rutkowski at QB or Hank Bullough as the HC or Stew Barber as GM; if they only knew!
