Good post, but I have watched teams for years, including the Bills, pay superstars that fill stadiums nut just can't reach the playoff threshold. I want a dominant team for a decade, a team always in the playoff hunt, a perennial winner; not a season or two of arena football!

Pay a troubled super star for short term gain - maybe 10 years ago and he would fill seats but we would still be a mediocre team and every August gullible fans would cry this is the year. I applaud Beane for doing due diligence but also applaud that he stepped away! Building a winning organization with character, most of us have the patience!

OK, now we are talking, I could not agree more; progress is needed in 2019. But throwing big money at fading superstars is not the solution!

They are better in the long term without him; I lost no sleep not getting AB, try Sominex! This board gets nuttier by the hour! Good post - no matter what McDermott and Beane do the "passing fancy fans" will not be happy; many of those screaming for instantaneous results are the same ones the threw temper tantrums throughout the failure of the last 16 years! They want reality TV condensed to a half hour SITCOM and kept very basic.

And not enough negative points in your post; you too must have a well placed inside source or an exclusive hotline to Beane. So many experts to offer critiques and so little time!

Really silly post; no one on this board is "strangely welcoming of that fact or even embracing" losing; most of us understand that winning is not going to happen over night and will take time after 16 years of really bad organizational decisions and an ingrained losing culture. Sorry kids, you can throw temper tantrums all day and scream for your fast food happy meal much like what happened from 2001 - 2017; the rest of us want long term sustained success, understand the game and will give this regime a chance.

Throughout the 1990's, Buffalo had no problems attracting and signing quality free agents - Ted Washington, Byrce Paup, Chris Speilman; hell we signed Jim Jeffcoat from the Cowboys and paid him three million a year to rush the QB on third down. Back then, the Bills were a winner and a quality organization; why the the tear down and rebuild is taking place after 16 years of trash.
