elizabeth warren is correct on this
OCinBuffalo replied to birdog1960's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think the PPP Finance Jedi Council is missing something here. Of course, John Stienbeck could easily see what they are missing, why, and told us both in the Grapes of Wrath. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what any of the Jedis here are saying(and once again birdog is getting a free education)...but it misses the psychology of the situation completely. Jboyst, whether he likes it or not, knows that there's this thing called Wall Street, he knows his life can be significantly effected by it, he has little idea why it works, how it works, or why his life can be significantly effected by it. He feels a little trapped, but not totally paranoid. The best he can do is draw dashed, not solid, lines to those who may be responsible for this feeling. If he had a choice, he'd rather not have anything to do with this. But he doesn't see a choice. This is daunting because, why should a farmer be effected by any of this? What right does anyone have to cause the economy to fail/receed on such a large scale that it effects a farmer? Put simply, when they fail, what right do they have to pass their failure onto anyone else but themselves, or worse, the entire economy? When the farmer tries to express these feelings(which is what they are, they are not informed/educated thoughts), he gets finance-babble from the Jedis, because they don't understand WHY Jboyst is saying what he is saying, and asking what he's asking. There are a hell of lot more Jboysts out there than Jedis...and Wall Street might want to consider that it's not hard to make the case: "no one has been held responsible for 2007, they got away with it". And that certainly doesn't help the feeling that Jboyst has. Jboyst isn't actively talking schit about Wall Street, but others are. The Jedis here need to wise up: 1. you have a PR problem that remains easily exploitable, 2. none of you have done anything publicly to reassure anyone that you are responsible adults, not greedy, petulant children 3. instead, you have used politicians privately to achieve your aims. Not helpful. Quite stupid in fact, and shows that some pre-2007 arrogance remains, when there should be 0. Elizabeth Warren can easily rally the willfully ignorant(bridog) against you. Jboyst isn't one of them, but, if you don't solve your PR problem with action, not talk? The millions of Jboysts are going to be as indifferent and dismissive of you in repsonse Warren's batshit crazy, as you have been to their feelings since 2007, and of Jboyst in this thread. And, don't forget, the Rs have the right to turn on you at any time as well, because of the billlions of $ you've been giving Democrats to keep them from going full-Warren on you. -
Well, well, well, what do you know? I've been saying this, but, it was an obvious conclusion. The Democrat Civil War is on, and it's going to be worse than anything the Rs have been doing, because there is very little common ground between the sides. War was inevitable, and we now have the Ft. Sumter. The far-left fired on Ft. Rational Democrat with the recent passage of the CR. Now it seems some in the media finally see the war, and of course, some don't. In a sentence, my premise has always been that the environtologists, or, watermelons(green on the outside, red on the inside), and their agenda would piss off enough consistent, white, middle class D voters(Reagan Democrats), to the point that open warfare would commence. Take the simple fact that gas prices are falling. This is awful news for the environtolgists, but it is great news for the plumber who has to fill up his truck. Both are diametrically opposed to each other on this issue....yet we are supposed to believe that they will unite over issues like: abortion, or Obamacare, or absractions like income inequality, and vote D in 2016? Plumbers don't make minimum wage, so raising it doesn't help them. They can't increase their income, if gas prices don't drop. Thus, it's easy for the Rs to point to the Ds, and say: "they don't want you to have cheap gas, so, who is really keeping you from gaining income?". Not even the dumbest of Rs can F that up. This is why the rational Ds are in a panic, and they ARE willing to fight back, like they did, this week = see here: http://www.theatlant...ality/383708/2/ They can see the lunatic, out of control/touch left is leading them to their political end. That's because they know that the "demographic advantage" is a myth: http://www.realclear...ats_124701.html Moving on, there's no doubt that the Rs see this war accurately, thus they see the opportunities and angles clearly, and will exploit them: http://www.weeklysta...own_821211.html Yeah, only an unmitigated moron can't see what the Rs have to say to keep winning going forward. It's right above in bold, and it can't be effectively countered by the Warren/Krugman Ds demands for even more "progressive" Obama economic policy. Because: mockery. And just like I said in another thread, the R 2016 strategy is laid bare for all to see = support the worker's side of this fight. It's pretty clear. The Rs are going after union support, and they are likely to get it, because all they have to do is say Steyer-->Democrats-->high gas prices. Again, very difficult to muddle that message. In contrast to the cogent, on-target analysis of the situation above, and it's forward thinking....we have this clown: http://www.theatlant...ma-boom/383754/ Hey leftists, you know how I accuse you of wishful thinking? Does the above help you to see why? For the rest of you, don't bother clicking on the link, because this all you need to see. Hilarious. See the contrast with the Weekly Standard? Rs are talking about what is to come/planning for 2016. This clod is reaching back 6 years to "feel good", and in the process, bashing the presumptive 2016 D candidate. Hey dolt: "Making Obama look good" has been the root cause of the entire Obama problem!(um Nobel Prize/teleprompter sound familiar?). Obama should have been out working/doing his job, and making himself look good. Instead, everybody but Obama, "making Obama look good", has cost your party everything it has gained since 2006. In the face of historical defeat, with things setting up for the far-left fighting a 2-front war, with the Rs and the working class Ds, your chief concern remains: making Obama look good. There is no better example of "Democratic Civil War" denial than this. These people are about to get Mack trucked. They still think immigration is a winning issue, and that the economy is merely what? A boring thing that should just go away? Something Obama, after 6 years of failed effort, will suddenly get credit for? The media is soon going to care enough about Obama, to say anything, never mind something good, when there's a coming POTUS election? There are only 3 kinds of Democrats now: enviros, labor, and the too dumb/affected by wishful Obama nostalgia to see the war the other 2 have already begun to fight. Oh and then there's Paul Ryan who has been actively working, not giving speeches, working, with the poor and lower-middle class for 2 years now, to formulate a new R plan, not just messge. Ryan is waiting to drop his entire aresenal of "how to actually help the poor/working families, not subjugate them in return for votes" on the far-left, which is the historical equivalent of what would have happened had England entered the real Civil War on either side.

The next time we play the Rams, we should send only Kiko for the coin toss. But tell him it's a drill, the coin is the ball...and, that's it. See what he does to the Rams, refs, and whoever else is standing around. Meanwhile, EJ, Goodwin and Gragg can wave to Tavon Austin and TJ McDonald and say: "Thanks for playing in St, Louis for us, guys"! EDIT: And, I would love to dig up all the RG3 trade/draft Cousins = brilliant posts, my responses to them, and all the rest of the unmitigated idiocy....but what is the point? Every clown who called this trade "awesome" knows who they are. And, one more thing: let's try and remember that, once and for all, "the draft value chart is no longer used" '= a rational reason for the RG3 trade. The draft value chart is still utilized. Whether RG3 will still be utilized after this season remains to be seen.

Surprised by Packers fan behavior

Eric Wood's hit on Clay Matthews
OCinBuffalo replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 questions: How long has Bulaga or Matthews been playing NFL football, never mind football in general? Shouldn't we expect, that they know, on plays like that, to keep their heads up/on a swivel? Thus, I don't understand any tearing up over them getting rocked. I was listening to the Packers post-game radio(because schadefreude), and they were laying it all at Schwartz's feet. "Well, it seems that once again, this is the kind of team JIm Schwartz wants...cheap shots...etc". I almost called in to remind them that Kerry Wood plays on offense, and that Doug Marrone was the head coach, but it was more fun to listen to their incoherent wailing. So satisfying. -
SF beating San Diego is huge for us, no doubt about it. Our path gets much easier if that happens. And, frankly, coming off a game where they quit against Denver, and San Fran just got elminated? It wouldn't surprise me at all that a Rivers-led team goes out and chokes, and with 0 pressure, the 49ers go out and win. I still remember a few years ago when SD had the Pats beat in the playoffs, and found a way to lose.

Pfft. Rodgers best option, when he goes back and "looks at it" is to recognize how many holding penalites his O line got away with, especially in the 1st half, and then keep his mouth shut. They finally starting calling them on it in the 2nd half....and that's when Eddie Lacy's big runs magically disappeared, and a bunch of their big plays got called back. What a coincidence!

Manziel and Cleveland is a lesson to be learned
OCinBuffalo replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK... Dumb people say RG3 good cause they dumb. Dey don't think. Dey just say what they hear people on TV say, cause they want to be smart like the people on TV. But they not smart. They dumb. Same dumb people say Johnny Football good. Same dumb thing. Then, dumb people get angry when what they say don't happen. They call other people dumb, but they are the dumb ones. ... How's that? -
Too Bad the Bills Don't Play in the NFC North!
OCinBuffalo replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or the NFC South. This is why, every time I hear the "14 years no playoffs" thing I remind the, usually, NFC team fan: your conference had a 7-9 team make the playoffs, and if it's a Dallas fan, I just laugh: "what are you doing talking about the playoffs at all? Tony Romo." Now, once again a losing record NFC team is going to make the playoffs. -
Manziel and Cleveland is a lesson to be learned
OCinBuffalo replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is like the RG3 thing...(or for the old-timers, the Trent Dilfer thing...anybody remember Kiper's rant on not taking Dilfer?) ...there are people who got caught up in the hype of a QB, rather than remainng objective... ...and now it's "hold the Manziel fort at all costs". Every post, every thread, every time anybody says anything about Manziel, you can expect the cannons at Ft. Manziel to fire. Btw, what's the status of Ft. RG3? Answer: It's a cardboard box, a coleman stove, and this dude named Steve who rocks back and forth and mutters "drafting Kirk Cousins just p-p-p-proves this whole thing is a good idea". -
no charges in IRS investigation?
OCinBuffalo replied to Azalin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
F probing. I've seen enough smoke, fire and flat out petulance. It's time to take this agency down. The best way to do that? Pass the fair tax. The fair tax solves all sorts of problems: corporate loopholes, individual loopholes, which should make even the far-left happy. And, it also removes the need for 85% of the IRS. WIth such a small agency remaining, it will be very easy to monitor their efforts with regard to political activism/abuse by the executive branch. In fact, a single Congressional committee(which is already in place) could review every single decision they make. The poll above makes it clear: the political will to do this exists amongst Is, Rs, and even some Ds(I say some because even though most recognize the abuse they will probably not support the fair tax just because). Clearly the majority of the country will support it. Therefore: It's a winning issue. All the Rs have to do is unite behind it, dare the Ds to oppose it, and hammer the schit out of them with merely the content of this thread if they do. -
Oil prices, not Obama’s veto, may block Keystone
OCinBuffalo replied to tomato can's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I've always been sure. Think about it. He's getting a free education + the experiene of all of us, and what is he paying? Taking a beating every day. That's why he keeps coming back for more. Compared to the cost of college, and experience he couldn't get anywhere else, I'd say he's making out. But, so are we. We get a cathartic liberal rag doll to throw around this board. If nothing else, it's stress relief. It's almost: symbiotic. -
You really can't connect the messaging the Rs have been doing, with the recent election results? If so, then I suppose it is folly to ask you to see that continuing that same messaging will produce the same results. And, like I said: history is on my side = FDR's economic fail = Repbulican Sweep of Congress.

I am. Basically, every supplier of meds, equipment and everything "medical" was told by HHS, as a part of Obamacare, "Set your prices now, because once this goes into effect, you'll never be able to raise them again, without our direct say so." Um, LTC uses meds, just a little bit. In fact 30% of the total man-hours expended in the average LTC facility is spent on Meds, and are passed by only those with 2 years of school or above(LPNs). So, Meds? Important. I know 3 pharma reps who are giggling their asses off right now with all their new comissions. Why? Because they tripled the price of their meds. One Pharma manager has increased her price for a specific set of drugs to aall her LTC clients by 2000%. The last time I spoke with her, my friend's wife, she was picking out a new muscle car for herself. She's worse than Jackie Chan. This is how they got the Pharma companies to go along. Notice that while there is a "medical device" tax, there is no "medication tax". That's because Big Pharma has more poltitical power than little device company. Thus, the pharma companies have been legally sanctioned to price gouge every health care provider, and thus every payer, especially Medicare. If you truly know LTC, then you know that Medicare, in all things, is the root cause of ALL business decisions for those that participate in the LTC market, and many in the Acute, and clinical areas as well. Thus, the increase in LTC insurance, due to sudden, massive, increase in cost right through the LTC supply chain, was inevitable. EDIT: I can't believe I forgot this. And hey Keuka? Remember that CMS has decided to stop paying LTC provider $18 a day for their Medicaid patients. Now they are going to pay a whole $22(adjusted based on area, but no more than $40). Horray! Yeah, try caring for someone with diabetes amputation or incontinence or dimentia on $22 a day. NO LTC provider can run their business that way. So...guess who gets to make up the difference in the LTC provider's budget, Keuka? And, no, this isn't an Obamacare problem, this has been going on for decades! Hooray Government Health Care for ALL! (paid for by some)

I read an article that basically outlines this as the "new" D strategy. "Look how well the economy is doing". However, I disagree with you on it's effectivenes. We have a quick trigger finger when it comes to the economy. Ex: Clinton got elected. IF the Rs continue to do as good a job with messaging as they have, nobody will be allowed to forget the intentionally inflated oil prices, by this administration's EPA head, admitted to in open Congressional hearings. And, we've been through 6 years, not 6 months, of this economy, with Demcrats doing nothing, because of Harry Reid. I highly doubt things starting to get better will be easily associated to Democrats. What cause/effect can they point to? The Stimulus from 6 years ago? The "Summer of Recovery"? Besides real "better" isn't going to happen for 6 months, when Rs are fully in control of Congress....and can say "See?". Most likely, regardless of all the spin, people will come away with the truth: "This is America, things were always bound to get better. Regardless of Obama, or anybody, his leftist policies made it take longer". In fact, that would be the sound bite/talking point should use: no different than the one used against FDR, which entirely flipped Congress to Rs back then. Yet another episode of "Idiots in History".
-
Hmmm.....well at least the AP is trying to regain some credibility. I think the media's new motto should be "Never Again", when it comes to vetting presidential candidates. Don't you? I mean we given them a lot of power, and what did they do with it? Give us an assclown who is currently voting "present" in the WH.

Global warming err Climate change HOAX
OCinBuffalo replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Oh, and to get back on topic? "Convention vs. Configuration" is EXACTLY the same as Global Warming, or Obamacare: a hoax designed to give a small # of people a ton of control over the very existence of others. It should be no surprise which part of the country these same awful ideas originate. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
OCinBuffalo replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Well, I am glad that you are now familiar. This is no different than any other issue for me: I post the facts, then I base my conclusions on them. Also, understand that the very same thing will happen with government buffoons trying to impose taxes, or try to control "our neighborhood" with their agenda. The internet is the only truly tolerant/free place, thus it's worth defending. All that new tax crap? Already been circumvented by 2 APIs that I'm aware of, and there may be more I'm not. It's always fun for me(Spitzer's "war on sales tax"...that lasted 3 days?), when a buffoon politician strolls onto our chosen battlefield assuming an easy victory. Sun Tzu would laugh his ass off at these people. We've already won the battle before it begins. But, Net Neutrality will never die, for the reasons I said above. True liberals, who by definition abhor this sort of behavior, are left in the cold by Google et al, and get 0 $. No. Only the real "top down" leftist, who is exactly in line with Google's "top down", leftist philosophy, gets the cash. And, by the way, if you know WTF you are doing, and thus can look at Obamacare's business and technical design properly? You find the same thinking: "top down"/take control away. There is no coincidence. The same awful thinking currently running at our government...is also running at Google et al. EDIT: If you want a concrete, real-world example, look no further than this: http://rubyonrails.org/. These clowns have been telling people that "convention" is the diametric opposite of "configuration", and therefore, the best thing to do is let them tell you what your software needs are, since they are most likley to be "conventional", for years. Look: you're no different than the next guy, and since they know better than you anyway, just take what they give you and run along. The existence of McDonald's proves this entire ethos false. But hey, they know better...and your needs and considerations in your business are therefore: irrelevant. Hmmm....how like Obamacare. This is why it's always hilarious to hear any leftist talk about "corporations" and "bad behavior"....from their Apple device. Both Apple and Microsoft have always been about "control" as well. They learned it from IBM. Maybe now that Jobs is dead, and Gates seems oblivious, things will change. IF Google, Applie or the rest were Oil companies, using the same tactics? Hell, every far-left buffon would be in the streets rioting. -
welp, so much for Chris Christie eh?
OCinBuffalo replied to TheMadCap's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
In the latest polls, http://www.realclear...olls/president/ Clinton can't break 50 on anybody, and this week the best she does is 46...against Cruz. But, in Quinnipiac, it's Clinton 43-Christie 42. For those of you who don't know much about polls? Hillary being unable to break 50, with her massive name recognition average means, right now, she has a very small chance of winning. Why? Because that means what while most people KNOW her, most people don't LIKE her. Yeah, that's not only within the margin, that's despite millions of national $, and months of national time devoted to killing Christie...he's only one point down. So, in FINAL repsonse to TheMadCap's OP: 1. No, we around here are actually 4th on the list of giving the DNC folks around here a beating. 1st, Obama/his people have given them a beating practically every day. 2nd, Obamacare has given them a beating. 3rd, Things that prove the leftist media as totally corrupt, like their coverage of the Christie Case, or the current libel from Rolling Stone, have given them a beating. All of these things beat the DNC people here far worse than we do. But, remember, unlike the DNC people, who needed Bush to have any material at all? We could give DNC people the same beating every day without the first 3 things on the list. 2. The DNC people haven't been dancing in the streets since they used OBL's killing as a fake "spontaneous protest" and a political tool. They told their own young staffers to go out that night and create a "crowd". Many of that crowd are now looking for jobs today, after this election. 3. Well, put it this way: Christie being exonerated has gotten 27 seconds of coverage....so, it's "news" 4. And with the current polling? Your premise was as silly as I said it was. Christie is going nowhere, and has done better than any other RGA chairman in decades, which means he has gained political allies, not lost them. That's where we stand. -
Notice they used the same font as the Hillary Video? Like I said: soooo exploitable.

Followed closely by the Democrat temper tantrums that ensue over Gerrymandering. Let's look at the score: Ds nominated a far-left dumbass over the more centrist, pragmatic lady, who would never have done anything to damage herself, never mind the party. Score 10 for the Ds, for having an "inspirational leader" but, socre 3 for the Rs, because: dumbass. Said dumbass is not the owner of the team, nor is he the GM, he's just the head coach, and therefore, goes out and runs the Saul Alinsky playbook, exactly as instructed by his GMs and owners, thereby alienating the American public, and getting destroyed in 2010. Thus enabling the Rs to take over more State Houses than they ever had before. Score defenive TD 7 for the Rs. These newly controlled State Houses Gerrrymander the hell out of their states. Score 7 for the Rs 2012 comes along and dumbass wins, but little changes in the House/Senate or the State Houses. Score 3 for the Ds 2014 comes along, and again, dumbass listens to his GMs and Owners, keeps running the same awful playbook, and sets brand new records for Ds getting their asses kicked. Score 7 for the Rs. And then another 7 on the ensuing fumble/TD by the Ds, because the Rs taking the Senate by so many means they keep it in 2016. Now, the Ds are losing 31-13 = down by 3 scores(and you need 2, 2 pt conversions to win), and there's about 8 mins left on the clock(because you know that next year Obama is merely going to be a lame...micro-organism...that lives in some duck's ass.) That's the score of this game. Who is truly responsible for the Gerrymandering?
-
This is the symptom, not the disease. Half the disease started in 2000, when the recount didn't go their way. Thus another symptom is being 100% dishonorable, to achieve an end: political power. The other half: The Democratic party hasn't stood for anything uplifting, or for progress, on any front, ever since. Enviorontology stands for regress, by definition. The last thing they want is new "infrastructure", which is why it's always hilarious to hear any Democrat talk about new roads and the environment in the same speech. I read "One for the Environment" in college, which was written by a nitwit who decided to spend one year of her life as head of the Sierra Club. You can't find it in print anymore, for good reason: she was being honest in her beliefs, which are patently retarded = horrible PR for them. Obamacare is regress: old ideas from the 60s/the completion of the Great Society. Their foreign policy is regress: back to the 70s when Russia thought it could invade Afghanistan/do whatever it wanted in South America, and we'd merely give a speech/boycott the Olympic games. It took 20 years to fully get rid of the "Army of the 70s" mind set, and replace it with winning US Army(proud to say I helped). And now? We are headed right back to the "Army of the 70s" all over again, and pissing on 1000s of US Army officers and NCOs who dedicated their entire careers to turning things around. Their law enforcement policy is regress: back to the "great" days of the 80s, when Democrat mayors threw up their collective hands and said "our cities are ungovernable", and then Guliani in NYC, and Rendell in Philly, disproved that(and other D mayors quietly followed the same approach) Their financial regulation/jobs policy is regress: back to Smoot/Hawley type protectionism, over-regulation, and back towards the fantasy world of FDR's utter failure "jobs programs". The list goes on, and on, and on. Anyone who is competent in American History knows this. Unfortunately many aren't, which is how Democrats are able to fool people into repeating mistakes. IF the R party is the party of "NO!", it is only because the D party is the party of "Old, tired, already been tried and failed ideas". Hell, why do the Democrats constantly point to the Heritage Foundation health care plan, if they are the ones coming up with "new ideas"? That alone proves the case. The Democrats don't have orginal thoughts. When they need one, they steal it from the Rs...exactly like Bill Clinton did. Since Hillary is boxed in with old, tired and failed ideas: why should we be surprised that, being as smart as she is, she has a hard time knowing what to say/think?
-
Come on Matty Ice! I figure if I can win at least 2 more games, that's respectable.

This is quite possibly the best comment ever written on any article ever. "I'll take assclown leftist columnists for $200, Alex" "The answer: Out of touch political hack who at any point thought that Hillary Clinton, even dancing on stage with Fleetwood Mac, ever had anything approaching new car smell, that could be lost". (beep beep beep) "Who is Dana Milbank?" "That is correct!" The people in that picture(which is now saved) are exactly the people I will be making memes of when Warren gets the nomination, and then proceeds to beat Mondale's record == loses all 50 states. Just like I'm doing with the pics of the Obama, fence crushing tools, right now(and this is a hilarious project). Fair warning. Unless you want to be immortalized as a moron, don't get your picture taken with any of them. As I said on the football board, I'm trying to increase my BS tolerance. It's a personal goal. So, I did as instructed, and watched. Normally, I would have told you to F off for even suggesting I watch that. Now? I'm telling you to F off because I did watch it. I don't know if that's progress. However, I do know, that this reminds me of that awful, backfiring Seattle Seahawks song that was made using a Justin Timberlake song. It's just asking to be exploited. The Bears fans had a field day with that song. All that's left of it seems to be this Deadspin article: http://deadspin.com/...xy-you-see-yeah You get the idea. I will try to have new lyrics soon. I'm thinking a sort of "Hitler finds out..." kinda thing. Hilarious for us, perhaps. Well, certainly for us. But, who is behind this strategy? CNN Warren supporters? Can't decide if the best caption is "Trying to push one out, after using that Dulcolax stuff". Or, "Oh crap, the Dulcolax is still in there!" Now we see you, nasty little creature. We will eat you, and leave your skin and bones hanging from a tree!
