I know how to fix the "entitlement" issue with kids... 1. Let them stay on their parent's health insurance until they turn 26 2. Encourage them when they decide to make "women's studies" their major in college 3. Tell them that all of them are special, and that all of them are going to live super-awesome lives, from the time they turn 3 4. Keep releasing movie after movie, that instead of properly framing challenges like ADHT(or whatever they are calling it now) and all the rest as something to be overcome, makes excuses for them, and even goes to far as to explain these deficiencies away as "super powers". (EDIT: I schit you not, if you are unlucky enough to watch that Percy Jackson movie...you'll see it word for word, provided you can get through 15 minutes of it. Movies like that make me want to cancel my HBO) 5. Make excuses, and whole other tests like the ACT, when they can't get the job done on the SAT. Oh, wait....I suppose those things do the EXACT F'ING OPPOSITE of fixing the entitlement issue, don't they....morons.

In other news, Francisco Franco is still dead. In all seriousness, the "Liberals are GIANT F'ING PHONIES AND HYPOCRITES" bell has been rung, about 1000 times, and it ain't going to get un-rung any time soon. All the phony "OUTRAGE!" has gotten them.... ....Speaker Boehner. And soon, President Not-Obama, along with Republican Majority in Senate and House. In 2006, the Democrats were handed perhaps the single greatest political opportunity since FDR's in 1932. And, in their petulance and stupidity, they have not only wasted it, but, have performed a near-perfect Jimmy Carter impersonation, which, if isn't immediately corrected, WILL doom them for another 12-16 years. The best thing they will be able to hope for is another Center-Left Clinton-type to come along in the next 20 years. That's about it. Their hubris, followed quickly by their FUTILITY, makes me The best part is, they did it to themselves, again.

Says the guy who can't provide any evidence that Taibbi isn't a complete tool, who is so busy trying to snarky that he swings at misses at the big picture, or the point in general, 90% of the time. He is unwatchable on TV, because his need to be "angry" supersedes his ability to be coherent. I am certain of his ignorance, and I can prove it.What can you prove, other than Tom's spelling mistake? (Ok, I'm calling it right now: Zulu is one of conner's sock puppets: joined in 2006, 741 posts, etc.....)

Virginia Senator Jim Webb won't seek Re-Election
OCinBuffalo replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I was waiting to see if any polls came out about Brown, well, useful polls, especially since the child abuse thing... Haven't seen anything yet. In any event, look, given your handle I am certain you have a better handle on the details of it than I do. I am merely looking at it the 20k level, and from here, it's a pretty darn jostling event, even now. Perhaps the most useful indicator out of it is: Mass Democrats are not California Democrats, nor are they Chicago or NYC Democrats. All of the rest would have voted for Candidate Hag out of sheer party loyalty. Same way we ended up will Hillary "I will do a lot for upstate NY" Clinton as Senator. NY is "national politics payoff" land. Mass, apparently, is not. -

Well played. And, I can't believe that you remember the conversation....and....that you're right, it was The Dean. Where the F is The Dean, btw? Perhaps him and Kelly the Fair and Balanced Dog are stuck in some part of this board that has been cut off do to poor infrastructure? Perhaps all they need are a few of the "shovel-ready" projects to be completed, so they can take the high-speed rail line back to PPP? -
Yes, yes, same old horseshit. How much of a sorry ass are you if, in this day and age, the only argument you have is "YOU'RE A RACIST!" I told you idiots that eventually you would schitalk yourselves away the "BIGOT!" attack, and now it's long gone. Again, you have no one but yourselves to blame. What this really is: world history, without the lamedick, politically correct nonsense attached. I would love it if you could provide a single example that contradicts any of my "....Arabs = Fail" lines. I doubt you can. But, I warn you: you actually have to know world history in order to accomplish this task. In fact, I am betting it requires that you got an A in 9th grade history and/or having read something besides whatever is posted on Huffington Post today. I don't think you have the ability. Let's see if I'm wrong. Also horseshit. No, Jim, that's not the real reason. The real reason is Tom learned long ago that my history skillz are just as tight as his are, if not more so. So that's why he won't f with me, because he knows that I wouldn't post a single bit of historical analysis here, if I couldn't back it up. Tom also knows that, because I did post history, there's no way in hell he didn't read it. And finally, after reading it, Tom knows my responses to him were accurate, because they are. Hence: "no reply, there's no reply at all." Unfortunately for Zulu D-bag, he wasn't privy to this information prior to posting his lamedickery. I'd give Zulu 1 chance in 8 of even coming close to posting a reasonable response. Who knows? Maybe Zulu wants a shot at the conner title?

And, let's agree to all be fine with his presumption since this: is the very presumption we want. It is not "wrong" , it's perfect. IF we have it, then it's the single biggest intelligence target since the atomic bomb. No reason to make the same mistakes we did with that. And, we have the benefit of fooling the Russians once already with SDI. IF we have it, might as well use that, since it works for everybody, not just the Russians, be modest, and smart, and make them think they are chasing ghosts, setup multiple fake projects, use the uncertainty to tempt spies into exposing themselves, etc. -
Yes, FDR, the "creator of the middle class", the man every Democrat bases their entire argument on.... ...said public employee unions represent a fundamental inequitable problem...because they do, morons. What FDR says here is logical, and in then proper context for then, and today. How else can you describe the current state of affairs other than "the manipulation of government policy by a privileged private interest"? FDR predicted this "manipulation" word for word. So who's wrong Democrats, FDR, or you?

Perhaps Tom is just pissed that he's going to have to work a lot harder to get his lulz? Conner/Molson_Golden made things too easy. Although, in terms of being easily defeated, Frenkle is not too far off conner, lately.

The answer to your question is in the question itself: when Rome was an Empire, they brought all sorts of technology and advancement to the Arabs. And, they kept the Arabs in line under pain of certain death. A citizen of Rome could walk across Northern Africa and not be touched. Imagine trying that as an American citizen now. Arabs,(notice I am not saying Carthaginians, who were not Arabs) having been tamed and then forcibly civilized first by Roman military power, and then by trade, eventually became the keepers of that knowledge when Rome stopped being an Empire, and started becoming a theocracy. We know the rest of the story. So, based on the historical evidence, the answer to your question is: When Islam is allowed to be the only basis for ideas, Arabs = Fail. When Arabs don't fear the consequences of f'ing with the West, Arabs = Fail. When the free trade of goods and ideas is restricted, in the Middle East(the crossroads of the world), of all places, Arabs = Fail. Due to their culture, when Arabs think they can get over on people, they will try. Due to their culture, when Arabs know there's no point in trying to get over on people, they will divert their attentions to other things, and that's when the math, etc. comes about. So, that means that no one's ever been gang-raped with Islam being somehow involved? No amount of political correctness erases reality. These people are Muslims, right or wrong. Pretending like they aren't is phony, and pointless. Oh, look, it's dopey ...lybob with the dopey, "But, but, but, the other kids were doing it too!" defense. Do we need to haul out the history of Islamic states trying to invade the West over and over, killing millions of civilians, in the process? IF you want to total up all the dead Christians and Jews, all time, based on nothing more than Islamic greed and aggression, well, you FAIL. Another fool defeated by 9th grade history.... -------------------- Also, what does the Christianity of the last 40 years have to do with the purposeful, consistent attacks on Americans by Islamic states for the last 40 years? And, Iran has been at war with this country since the Carter Debacle. They deserve whatever they get and they certainly aren't entitled to an apology when it is their constant, pissant antagonizing of our military that caused 1(one) accident over the course of 40 years. Iran is the little pest that keeps poking the big guy and running away. Sooner or later, the big guy loses his patience, and the little pest gets hit and goes down, hard. Iraq got theirs for f'ing with us, Iran is next. Yes, the irony of this is undeniable. This is why people need to invest in reading a little history here and there. However, on the flip side, Osama Bin Douchebag points to Spain as the seminal loss for Arabs that has caused all their problems in history. The stupidity of that is also undeniable. Yes, but that military action was initially defensive. The Arabs have been trying to destroy Israel since '48. It was only after the Jews successfully smoked the Arabs on defense, and then proceeded to go on offense, that Arab ground was taken. Bottom line: the Arabs chose poorly. They got their asses kicked, and wars, just like elections, have consequences. The Arabs could have chosen to leave Israel alone in '48. They could choose to leave Israel alone now. Whatever happens, if Arabs want to be = with everybody else, then, they have to accept that they have nobody else to blame but themselves for the consequences of their choices, just like everybody else.

Who cares about blame? How about: is Obama getting the results you expected from him, if and when you voted for him? Or, for those of you who didn't vote for him: have the results Obama has gotten good enough to garner your vote in 2012? Then: if your answer is no to either of these questions, do you expect Obama to learn/improve and start getting good results going forward? The answers to those questions are: Yes or No. I don't want to hear excuses. This is about Obama, and nobody else, because he's the one with the job right now. Keeping things specific to Obama, is he doing the job, or not? The above are the only questions that matter. Both sides can babble for hours. When they get done talking, these questions will remain the only questions that matter.

This smells like: Source 1: Somebody who works for, or is, one of the lawyers representing the players, trying to selectively release info that only benefits the players. Source 2: Somebody who works for, or is, one of the lawyers representing the league, trying to selectively release info that only benefits the owners, or spin whatever Richardson said. In all cases, the players and the owners need to realize that attempting to negotiate this in the media will ultimately fail. The money they spend on the PR firms is wasted. It is wasted because they aren't going to get fans, or sponsors, on one side or the other, because we don't care about everything else if there aren't going to be any games. Well, we can assume there will be idiot fans who are duped by the "stories" from these "sources". And, there are sure to be talk radio hosts who are willing to operate on that assumption. But really a bunch of millionaires arguing with a bunch of billionaires over how to divide up $9 billion annually? Hardly the stuff of John Steinbeck. The only "Wrath" here will come from the consumers of football, if there is no season next year. -

I am right, and you have just ended up being alive and aware for the worst part of the historical cycle, so don't worry. In contrast, my "10 years" comparable to yours saw the Reagan Revolution not only turn the country around but also accomplish what I keenly remember was unthinkable: beat the Soviets. I was only a little kid for the Carter Epic Fail, but I started smelling the same Fail the instant I laid eyes on Obama. The past decade seems that way, because the choice was made, by the Democrats, to make it that way. Now, that they have once again raced to the bottom and are circling the drain, the stage is set for another Reagan. The trouble is: everybody is expecting Reagan, and that might be too high a standard for anybody to meet, real or perceived. The people trying to compare Obama to Reagan are buffoons.  -

False premise. Those of us with the situational awareness to be watching American Idol, but paying attention to other things at the same time, would never have allowed that type of oppression to befall this country. Not ever. Again I refer you to the TEA party now, or the Blue Dog Democrats of the 80s, or the Republican Congress during WWII. No matter what, there will always be an important group of Americans who will put aside the usual games and choose to forgo a lucrative personal or political opportunity for the good of the country. That is our history. Great things come from these acts of selfless focus. Historically these groups have always prevailed, and gained much more than if they had gone for the quick but small, and ultimately worthless, gain. Think about it: Republican Congress going along with FDR in WWII--> 8 years of Eisenhower and prosperity Blue Dog Democrats going along with Reagan in Cold War--> 8 years of Clinton and prosperity Now consider the contrapositive: Assclown Pelosi Congress of 2006 fighting Bush every step of the way in Terror War--> 4 years of Obama, failure and prolonged recession, followed by an almost certain 12-16 years of Republican Presidents, just like the last time we elected a weak, far-left liberal in Carter. As always, the history is accurate and predictable, because the logic is undeniable. -

Oh yeah, that's right. We didn't have 100's of TEA party rallies with 0 violence, We didn't have Glenn Beck's 100s of Ks of people with 0 violence, We didn't have Jon Stewart's 100s of Ks of people with 0 violence, and even though the media would love to portray the town hall meetings as violent, the only thing that happened there was that Democrats got a verbal beating, not a physical one. Time to get a grip, skippy. -

That only happened because all the prosecutors and judges are bigots. [/conner and the rest of the far left retards] We shouldn't look at Islam itself as part of the problem, even though the problem people cite entire sections, not single lines, of a book that is specifically laid out to go after Christians and Jews...because it's not politically correct. It's just a massive coincidence that 99.9% of terrorists happen to share the same religion.[/Alaska Darin] -

Apparently you missed the the fact that Obama's entire team of economic advisers - the ones who were in charge of fixing the economy - were far-left college professors from Harvard and Berkley. Not a single person who has owned a business, or worked at a reasonably high level in a corporation made the Obama team. When they failed, because, let's face it, far-left people fail before they even start because their thinking is always premised in failure, they tippy-toed back to Harvard and Berkley, where it's perfectly fine to be a far-left schit talker who can't prove that his/her ideas work in the real world. They are all gone, and are all right back home at college. The best part is: that was their big chance to prove, unhindered, that they are right, and that their ideology is not just a political self-delusion predicated on false premises. They failed miserably. This is 1(one) example. There are plenty more. -

OCinBuffalo replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I could be making Glenn Becks's point, not that it's very valid, better than he is, and I would use: history. Where did the Communist Terrorists and Insurgents from Germany, Italy, Greece, Ireland, and everywhere else in the 70s/80s train? Answer: Mostly in Radical Islamic countries. So, the case that radical Islamic a-holes and Communist a-holes will collude now, and fight each other "after they defeat the West", is not only feasible, it is solidly rooted in historical fact. In fact, the Baader Meinhof gang, and PLO a-holes, even pulled a bunch of jobs together. So there is also historical precedent that they are willing to work beyond a strategic and logistic level, right down to the operational level. Also, a key point: isn't it interesting that socialists/islamists were so willing to work with each other, even though their supposedly "enlightened" belief systems are so superior, and mutually exclusive? Or, is it that both ideologies are founded on horseschit, and their devotees simply interested in power? -

Yeah, OK, you keep moving those plastic pieces around on the map in your bunker Dave. You can still win the war! Splintering? Has there been a finer example of wishful thinking on this board in the last month? In reality: the Republicans in the house and Senate have voted unanimously in all but a few major votes since Jan. But....there's "splintering". Perhaps Dave, MSNBC and the NY Times need to look up the definition of "projection", because the splintering has been on the Democratic side since Obama took office. People are laughing at the FUTILITY of your lame, smug, repeated, did I mention lame?, attempts at trying to spin, or worse, slander, the TEA party. You haven't been right, in any regard, about the TEA party, and that's why they kicked your ass--> Rule #1: know your enemy. If you keep lying to yourselves about: who the TEA party is, what they stand for, their priorities, whether they are racist, whether they are violent, then there's no way in hell you will ever really know them, and that's why they will continue to kick your ass. -

If this was a state largely populated by idiots, transplants, and people that can't be bothered to care, like Florida, or South Carolina(Alvin Green) I would agree with you. But, Massachusetts, like Louisiana, and New York, is a state where people are highly tuned in to politics. You won't find a politics board attached to Phagnation, or Jagoffland message boards...whereas, with the Bills...well, we're here aren't we? Estimates say that 15-30% of committed, life-long Massachusetts Democrats had to make a conscious choice to pull a level(or whatever) with an "R" next to it. I am sorry, but the act of doing that, and the weeks of consideration prior and after, and the conclusions they had to have arrived at? The momentous act of doing that as a way to stop Obamacare in its tracks trumps your "Candidate Hag" theory. Sure, the Kennedy Celebrity thing still goes a long way, but, again, these people take a lot of pride in knowing what they are about in Politics, and I just don't see them abandoning Brown purely on Democratic stardom or hack politics alone. IF they can't make a case specific to Brown, then I don't see how they get him. -

1. Define the "right thing" PROPERLY. This requires objectivity. The ALGORE cult is a religion, so no chance of objectivity there. Same thing with the energy companies. There was a time when I would have said get some scientists to do an objective study. But, as we have seen, we can't trust those b-tards either. 2. Separate the socialism from honest to God conservation and clean air/water. Hell, separate the politics from it in general. F environmentalists. When I was a Boy Scout, I got my Conservation Merit Badge. There was no Environmentalist Merit Badge. There's a simple, yet profound, wisdom in that. -ists = politics. Conservation is a verb. We need people who want to define themselves by verbs, not nouns. 3. Publicly challenge, and therefore, humiliate the assclown "environmentalists"(approx. 85%) We need people who place more value on doing the small things themselves, quietly, with humility, who lead by example, and less people who want to talk about other people, spread ignorance, and scream at everybody and/or personify smugness. The latter group doesn't give a schit about the environment in reality. They do care about finding something that makes them: different, cool, alternative , etc. because they can't hang with the rest of us. It's the same reason why ugly girls do the goth thing, and then start acting like badasses. You will pay attention to them, if for no other reason than the overwhelming curiosity as to if they went to a dentist, plumber or a welder to get that bolt "installed". 4. Encourage people to enjoy nature in their own way Believe me, if you get enough people to spend a single day out in the woods, at the lake, stream, whatever, you won't have to then spend 20 million on PSAs that throw "You're ruining nature, you bastards!" messages in their faces. 5. DO NOT let the far-left be in charge This may seem like I'm contradicting #2. But, we cannot ignore the performance record of the far-left. Want something like getting gay people the same rights wrt marriage, etc. done reasonably? Don't let the far-left do it. The far left's premise is: "Americans are either too stupid or too evil to do the right things right, so we have to force them to do them". As we have seen, that = FAIL. And usually results in getting the exact opposite of what you want. 6. Wacky idea, and I am still buzzing, so whatever I think it would be great if a new Republican President created a partisan, NOT bi-partisan, panel of all Republicans, gave them 3 reasonable Conservation goals, and told them they were responsible for not only providing the solutions to them, but also implementing them by the end of his current term. IF Republicans are in charge, then be in charge. Why dick around with the politics of a bi-partisan commission, whose results will end up in 3 ring binder, never to be heard from again? Why not instead hit the problem head on, and prove that your ideas not only work, but work better? The problem is: that would require balls, and most DC types don't have any. -
Monorail! Monorail! Monorail!
OCinBuffalo replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Of course I'm right, and here's why: Life is about results. Amtrak, and the Federal Government in general, fails way more than it succeeds, to get the results that are = to the money we spend on them. Profit? Are you serious? Acela charges 2x, or close, to what the regular train does. So, it stands to reason that it would make more $$$ for doing the exact same thing. The problem is: what if we create the simple result of "work properly, on time, and only be late/cancelled once in a month"? Acela will fail 2x as often as the regular train, and neither will make that standard. Charging me $200 for an Acela ticket, and then being late 30% of the time '= Results. You may be profitable, but you still suck. There's a time to say: "put more $$$ into it, and that will push it over the top". But, there's also a time to say: "we are throwing good money after bad here, and the current management structure, and possibly the management themselves, need to be changed and/or we need to clean house and get some people in here who are committed to the effort". There's also a time to say": "Bottom line, we suck at this business model, and either we have to get a new one, or we have to get out of this business completely." What to say is 100% dependent on the type of results you are getting. This is a straightforward concept. If some dopes that represent 20% of the population(um, liberals) come along and tell us that they want to do something that hasn't gotten results for years, or that we know won't get results, why God's name should we care about their opinion? (I'm still buzzing, so my tolerance for this stupidity is long gone). -

OCinBuffalo replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ok, I have some ideas for some "changes" that "won't hurt anyone" either. Let's pass a sweeping overhaul of the legal system. 1. A new Federal bureaucracy that handles all reimbursement of legal fees, to include an 35 page instrument that attempts to control cost and ensure quality. All attorneys must complete this form and send it to the government, every quarter, for every client, or they don't get paid.....Why not? That's what Medicare does, and since Medicare is not only awesome, but only has 4% administrative costs, this would be a great way to lower legal costs, for everyone. 2. This new Federal Bureaucracy will also require 20,000 regulators, since there are so many lawyers, which will be paid for by creating a "by-the-hour" tax on legal fees. These regulators will routinely enter law offices of lawyers, prosecutors, and judges to inspect their work. If they find deficiencies in the work being done for clients, or on behalf of the government, they are empowered to fine, suspend work, remove legal licenses, shut down practices and prosecute lawyers with impunity. The Kicker? None of these regulators will be government employees. Instead, they will be contractors that get paid by % of fines they impose/reimbursement they take away. Need I go on? I surely can. Funny how if we applied the same exact rules/regulations to the legal profession that we apply elsewhere...and call them..."Changes"...they hurt, don't they? You forgot parts B-D of the plan: B. Demagogue anyone who calls the magnetic moving plan patently retarded as someone who "doesn't want clean water, air, or food, and is 100% a pawn of the corporations". C. Don't forget to include brand spanking new regulations, and, of course, legions of new regulators, which will have to be paid for by a new magnet moving tax, and a tax on magnets in general, in an effort to wean us off of magnets. Have these regulators ensure that you are moving the magnets properly in your house, and everyone's house, from DC, using "technology". D. Create a new exchange of those offset credits, and make sure your cronies in Chicago get control of that exchange. I said: the found iron laid out in the wrong direction, which cold indicated that poles weren't always where they were. There are also other geological indicators. But, just like with global warming, there's other feasible explanations for all of them. The only difference is: there's no way to force the socialist agenda down our throats using the magnetic shift theory......... ....YET!
