  1. It's like you wish you forcibly could sign everybody up for an NFL rewind account....make them watch the "coach's film" (which is watching the game from the endzone), analyze each play and write it up, find the things they don't get right, make them re-watch the play, and write it up again, consolidate all of that into a gameplan analysis and rate who won the physical game, who coached a better game, etc.... .....and only then allow them to post here. I think I could do the money part...but I just don't have the time. EDIT: Well, that, and I can't solve idiocy/never played sports/don't know spatial relationships/Madden problems.
  2. But....they will use the "draft order excuse/anybody would have picked Dareus" argument. This way, no matter what Buddy does...he is either stupid or it was a 'given', or "given to him" ...and they are always right. I love how we are supposed to not give Buddy credit for picking Dareus, since "everybody" would have done that. Apparently these guys weren't around for all the Von Miller/"reach for my favorite QB"/"yeah, but Nick Fairley has more talent" threads. I love how "obvious" Gilmore is now...given the sheer volume of Keuchly and LT threads(Martin/Trade up for Kalil , etc.). Yeah...it was "obvious" that we could take Gilmore, and our starting LT would be nicely gift wrapped, and ready to be taken in the 2nd. The only person who knew that....and SAID SO? Buddy Nix. But keep telling yourselves how you knew it all along, and so did everybody else. Jesus, we are now way far into ridiculous land. ........................................ What I can't seem to understand: the line play we saw in the Pittsburgh game, on both sides of the ball, was easily the best its been in literally 10 years. We physically mauled the PIttsburgh Steelers in the first quarter....and then shut the run game down, and pulled Fred out. Defensively was even worse...against the Pittsburgh Steelers. ...yet we have clowns who are unwilling to give the guy who put these lines together...credit for anything? Unmitigated morons.
  3. See, this right here is why I like this board. I know, that I be away from a thread for a few days...and somebody else will deal with the misguided in my place. Dude You're using Mike Tannenbaum to make your point now? That thing in your hands? It's a shovel, son. Put it down, and climb out. You're argument is illogical, and is made that way because teams DO have 10-15 guy scouting departments, and the work product that they create does exist, and it does take an entire year to create it. Those are facts. It's possible for you to make a new argument along the same lines as your first one. Just take the above facts into account. One rational conclusion based on those facts is that they couldn't have fired Modrak prior to the draft, because they would lose all the work product/draft charts etc. What is another, more likely explanation?
  4. The ONLY thing that matters is: Decastro doesn't get hurt...if he wasn't driven backwards 5 yards. Forget the injury. It's what caused it that matters. It wasn't the turf , or a "trick" or a stunt, or anything other than: getting owned. That is the positive. It's unfortunate that he got hurt, but I'm not going to feel bad that our D line did that, and was doing that the whole game. My personal favorite is Dareus pushing #74 straight into Big Ben...and he was either in the shotgun or took a 5 step drop, I couldn't see it. The last time a Bills team went out and dominated a Steeler's team this badly in line play? I'd have to say 93 playoffs. The difference in this game was the Steelers didn't have Neil O'Donnell absolutely panicking, then fumbling and throwing picks.
  5. This thread is like deja vu. I remember these same comments last year at this time. Hell, we all KNEW it was going to be a hell of a fight against the Chiefs...and while we weren't going to win, we hoped that we would at least see the offense take a step forward. We also KNEW what we had in Merriman...since he had destroyed one O line after the next. Fitz was a mediocre QB, who we had to go with, because of the Edwards disaster, and the hope was: The Chiefs woouldn't blow us out because of Fred. But... None of that was true. I find it hard to believe that posters are dumb enough to get fooled twice, by the same thing, from the same player, and from the same coach. I guess they are. I wonder: why in the hell are you guys signing up for all this? Don't you realize how easy it can be for Fitz/Chan to make you look foolish? Seems like, given the night/day transition from preseason to game 1 last year....you'd be a little more careful, patient, smarter, whatever.

  24. 1. I don't see how this means Sheppard is in trouble. Look at Cordy Glenn...they had concerns about him, but also clearly wanted him to start....and in response have played him as many reps as possible. If they had the same concerns with Sheppard, he'd be getting the same treatment. These coached have proven they are consistent and straightforward. If anything, they are cross-training Morrison, to be a versatile backup for the early part of the season. I see Carder moving into that role quickly as well. Therefore, Morrison makes the team, and McKillop = cut. 2. Talking about Keuchly, in any context, is patently retarded. Need I remind you again: THIS IS NOT MADDEN. You can't just make whatever trade you want...because you think it makes sense....and there's some made-up model that allows you to do it. Moving up to Keuchly would have cost us TJ Graham. NO F'ing way that trade makes sense.
  25. On one hand...a single draft is a crapshoot....however, when you line up drafts one after the other....and a pattern of sucking emerges....then...you have to take action. See: Fire Modrak On the other had.... This doesn't take into account the fact that a draft chart....takes an entire year to build, involves the entire scouting department for that year, and involves the entire pro personnel people for that year, because drafting without thinking about FA is stupid. So...your assertion that Buddy could have some how come in, and immediately fired Modrak, and then have just "watched film" to replace the work product that Modrak had created...is absurd. It's not about one individual, Buddy, just watching college game tapes. If it were...then why do you need a 10-15 guy scouting department? No. They had to keep Modrak, and keep work product, for that first year. That's why they fired him...AFTER the draft. Your premise is false, therefore, the rest of the argument can't be right. Also, giving draft position the credit, rather than Buddy, for Buddy making good draft decisions? Also absurd. I don't see any Ryan Leafs in the last 2 drafts. Rather, I see nothing but starters/contributors. You can't take credit away...for doing what they are supposed to do....no more than you can give extra credit...for doing what they are supposed to do. .... As always, I don't mind fans being critical. I do mind when they are misguided/inaccurate.
