WGR has been totally leftist idiotic this morning.
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Do you regularly put up with with people ripping you off? How about disrespecting you? Oh, I'm sure that if I spent 2 minutes ripping into your supposed values, you'd go running for your safe space. But, that's not what this board is about, and, is sure as hell isn't what pregame Bills football is about. -

OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No, I tuned in to hear football coverage, like I've done since I was 6 years old. Today, that is not the case: hence the thread. Offended? No. Pissed is the proper term. Bills football is the once place we can all agree, for 3 hours on a Sunday, we are all best friends with people we never met. This morning was a complete contravention of our shared tradition. Therefore, it deserves a thread, and it should stay right where the F it is, since WGR crossed the line. -

Yeah, I am telling the truth. I am honestly reporting what WGR is doing this morning. It's flagrant. It's ridiculous, and it's also why this website has existed from its Rochester D&C roots from the very beginning: not letting the media get away with censorship. Sorry if that's more than you can handle, rookie. -

We'll see. As I said: WGR has decided to make a political statement this morning on what is supposed to be a football show. Reciprocity is called for in spades. Go cry. -
1. The number of "dropped calls" gives the whole thing away. For every 1 call they have taken, they've dropped at least 3.5(). Well, more like 2.5, but still, come on. Normally its 1:.2 2. Jeremy White, in addition to flat out stealing my threads 5 years ago, including the exact format, has decided for himself that he is the arbiter of what "veterans think", because perhaps 1/100,000 veterans agree that you shouldn't salute in uniform/hand over heart in civvies. As a veteran, this is flat out BS. WE know what we see in the flag/national anthem. For some candy ass clown who wouldn't last 5 minutes in an infantry platoon to project his fake stats, or really, say anything about it, is as disrespectful at is idiotic. Hey moron, here's the thing: most veterans don't respect you enough to even bother engaging you on this topic. We simply know better: you're an unmitigated moron. However, see #1: assclown White has struck a nerve this morning, and WGR screeners are dropping calls like flies. 3. THE pregame show for the Buffalo Bills has engaged in nothing but biased "reporting" all morning. That is why this post belongs, not on PPP, but on the football board. IF they are going to engage in political discourse on what should be a purely football show, then I see no problem calling them out on it on what should be a purely football board. 4. My favorite part of the day Jeremy White proclaiming that "Trump is gonna lose" against the supposed NFL solidarity against his recent tweet. Jeremy Assclown: do you have any idea how long the crow eating line is for the "Trump is gonna lose", anything, anywhere, people? And you? You're now at the back of it. You're going to have wait time. There are millions of people ahead of you.

That's literally what they have in England right now. So much for the NHS being the be-all end-all. In fact, check out these job listings: https://www.indeed.co.uk/Javascript-Developer-jobs-in-London EVERY SINGLE ONE has PRIVATE INSURANCE listed as a benefit. So, again, I ask, if single payer in other countries is so great, why does every single one of their IT jobs offer private insurance? Not convinced yet? How about this, a company that does business in Berlin, Kiev, and HANOI of all places: https://www.paymentwall.com/en/careers/kiev/junior-front-end-developer/297 OFFERS PRIVATE INSURANCE. I could spend the next hour snagging jobs from Japan(you know, the country that spends the "least per capita on health care" ...until you realize that's because "illegal side payments(bribing the ambulance driver) are condoned by the government") and they all have Private Insurance. Yeah, Japan has a great...Stalinist...single payer plan. -
How about we just put you in one of these? Far more efficient use of your time and energy.

The above is the perfect example of the amount of delusion required to believe that single payer is a viable political policy to even raise, never mind to believe it's an election winner. And, notice the cognitive dissonance: the above comes pre-packaged with an excuse for why it failed, when it does. It's not that the American people will refuse the Ds another chance to blatantly lie, then F up design and construction, then blame everybody but themselves("If you like your doctor..."). No, it's because the Republicans and their magical/mad scientist hypnosis machines will turn everybody against the D "heroes". Tune in next week to see Tiberius and his faithful companions ButtPlug, and GenderBender fight evil supporters of individual rights!!! GO! Tiberius! GO! -

Yeah, because they didn't compete well enough or innovate. Henry Ford was called a lunatic for paying his workers so much. Some industrialists even tried to drive him out of business because of it. Then, he was called a genius when he specifically designed and made a car that his own workers could afford to buy. So, am I supposed to be feel bad for the other auto companies that didn't have Ford's talent/vision? Am I supposed to feel bad for the buggy-whip makers who lost their jobs due to the car? F No. The government cannot create talent/vision, no matter how much $ it spends. If you find somebody with real talent, who has applied it to solar panels, or algae, (forget wind, that's over), or cold fusion, or whatever: invest. The biggest lie that Global Warming people tell is that there's a pretend "desert" in 2nd round financing, and if only more 2nd rounds were approved, we'd have tons of alternative energy. Here's the truth: almost all of the alternative energy startup fails occur because they fail to prove their concept, or show their model isn't feasible. Thus, nobody will finance a 2nd round. 9/10 times there is no real talent/vision involved. What there was, under Bush and Obama, was corporate welfare, via matching funds for alternative energy startups, which massively reduced risk, but kept reward the same. What there was: a bunch of opportunists who knew they'd get paid either way, fail or no fail, for launching a "green energy" startup, and enough idiot movie stars to throw their $/D congress people from 2006-2010 to throw the taxpayer's $, at them, with no due diligence at all. -

In other words, you have no idea if there is anything good or bad in it, so the best you have is throw FUD at it. God, I want the old crayonz back. -
Never works. I have bet avatar changes over who would end up being right on an issue with Molson_Golden...and some of the rest of the clowns who I can't remember that were legion around here in 2005-2009. They all welched. I can't remember who I did "The Surge in Iraq Will Work" bet with, but they basically never showed up here again. So, that's even better.

Or, a gift from Santa Claus for Rs running in 2018. I can't imagine the level of delusion required to believe that more than 25-27% of the country will look at single payer, after the Obamacare debacle, and say "more please". This is like telling 73-75% of the country "I don't care how badly we screwed you last time, this time we're gonna get it right". Who is actually going to believe that the government will get this right, never mind support them trying, after the amount of our $ they've already pissed away? Answer 25-27%. It's always the same % in all sorts of polls: People who believe in unlimited abortion, that they were abducted by aliens, that 9/11 was an inside job, that we got into Iraq to steal oil, etc. So many polls expose that the far-left actually only represent about 25% of the country, and yet they seek to impose their will on the rest of us. Actually, given the amount of red pilling that's happened in the last 3 months? I'd say that number is down to 20%. And here is the bottom line: There is a false expectation that Trump should "unite the country". Trump, and the rest of us, are never going to "unite" with those people, nor should we. There is no common ground with crazy/stupid. There is only clearing defining them and what they actually believe, and then ignoring because common sense demands it. Instead, Trump should focus on driving up his numbers with the remaining 75%, because: 75-25 is a nice way to win an election. Duh, Democrats. -

The entire objective of most startups...is to be bought. You usually see a nice 20-30% ROI on that, if not more. So please explain how one company buying your stock in another is a bad thing. After all, a buyout offer almost always triggers an automatic board election by the shareholders. Then the board votes on the offer. This is how business works. Yes there were lots of auto companies, but, also, many of them had a specific patent or piece of tech that made the company worth something. So, Ford, GM, etc. bought them. A lot of those little auto companies returned significant profits. So, what is your argument? Do you honestly believe that if a new solar company developed a collection tech that could triple the energy output of solar panels, GE would NOT buy them in a heartbeat? Thus the government has nothing to do with this: either somebody invents something, that's worth something to GE, and you take a big risk for a potential big reward, or, nobody invents anything better, and you, along with the rest of us, stay out. Or, you go buy GE stock, because they are already in the solar panel business, you figure they have the best chance to innovate the solar panel, and STILL the government has nothing to do with it. -
This is what I get for not logging in for so long. Oh well, no PFF analysis until 3am for me this year. I ain't sweating it. I'm gonna try some of the week to week stuff. But, I'll probably get crushed, and want back in next year.

Are you ready for some Peterman????
OCinBuffalo replied to CountryCletus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one thing that is undeniable, no matter who is playing defense, is Peterman's TD touch pass. That was a top 10 NFL QB throw. Watch it again if necessary, but, there's no way to dismiss it. Deion Sanders could have been covering on that play, and it still would've been a TD, because it was thrown in a place only the WR cold get it, but, just right so that the WR could get both feet in. Forget "throwing into the bucket", that was thrown into a pitcher. The "playing against 3rd stringers" excuse simply does not apply to that throw. -
McD and Beane/ Do you trust them?
OCinBuffalo replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also, I'm fascinated a bit here: Since Watkins was drafted, there's been no shortage of posters here who have hated the trade for him, his injuries, and his production. The reaction today seems disproportional to the amount of anti-Sammy posts over time. I would have thought there'd be a lot more cheering of this trade. -

Perhaps the dumbest quote in the history of man(only rivaled by what Napolean said about steam powered ships). Keynes said that in the 1920s, his idiocy was implemented in the 1930s, we learned nothing, and it was implemented again in the 1970s, and tried again recently...and now we are all living in his "long run". He gets to be dead. We have to deal with his consequences. -

Being a Bills skeptic is just easy as it is being one for the other 32 teams. The only way you are ever "wrong" is if your team wins the SB. So, you have a 1/32 chance of being wrong, every year. Good odds. -
Pros and Cons of Letting CA Go
OCinBuffalo replied to grinreaper's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know... One outcome of this I've been toying around with in my head for a while is: what if they gain "single-serving fans"? Meaning: Go to Vegas for a 8-9 day vacation, and start it off by going to a Raiders game on Sunday. They might even gain country-wide support this way. Lots of Raiders-backer clubs. Yes, I know that same thing doesn't happen for the other touristy cities. However, Vegas is a different deal: it's ONLY about entertainment. -
PPP Trump Job Approval: Six Months In
OCinBuffalo replied to Dorkington's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Great. You ask a board mostly populated with butthurt, never Trump, crybabies about their approval. Come on. The egos here prevent a rational assessment. Christ, the next poll should ask: Would you approve or disapprove of getting publicly, intellectually, butt-raped? You'd get about the same response. There is no objectivity here when it comes to Trump. I saw what was coming, and I got on board. I've been called names by all sorts of dopes, here and elsewhere, but...as usual: I was right. Trump won, and it wasn't even close, electoral college-wise. If he had spent any time in MN, he'd have won that as well. Given what he has gotten done, and you really have to work to find out, so far? This is Reagan all over again. Everybody hates him/has a plan, until they get hit...with the #s. In this case: look at the jobs #s, the consumer confidence, the friggin stock market. I'm so sure the PPP Finance Jedi Council is crying all sorts of tears about Trump, while they line their pockets. -
Talk about delusional. Here you go, in all its hysterical glory: https://newrepublic.com/article/144046/rot-republican-party-nearly-complete Yes, apparently in this child's addled mind "rot" == serious debate about an issue that effects every American. See, he is still operating under a pre-Trump mindset, which, is actually an extension of the pre-2010-2014 wave elections. Last time I checked: having the trifecta in 31 states(all branches are R), compared to only 6 for Ds, hardly spells "rot" for Rs. Neither does controlling all 3 Federal branches. You wanna know what real rot looks like: consider the Ds laughable "new" policy roll-out which == "Better Ingredients, Better Pizza"...but FUBARed. Like I said on this very board all the way back in 2006: "You unmitigated morons are going to replace blue collar white workers, who will show up and vote, never mind stand in the rain around a fire barrel to support candidates...whith college professors, their students, identity groups, and trial lawyers? You're going to lose everything you've gained this year." I was right. They are still wrong. They did lose everything. They aren't going to win anything, and they are talking about...."rot"? Keep it up people, and Trump coasts in 2020.

DWS Working With Middle Eastern Terrorists
OCinBuffalo replied to boyst's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
As an IT project manager looking at the government as a client? There is a cultural infection in the government. Apparently they think anyone can steal data/spy on anyone else with no consequences. Never mind leak information illegally. My advice is: you have to go after that culture. We can build anything, but, if you have a culture that is willing to abrogate "policy"? It doesn't matter what we build, or how well we build it, it will be compromised as soon as we release it. (How do I know I can trust the Admins, never mind the users?) I've fixed chronic cultures like this by finding its biggest proponents, and showing them the door. That has 2 benefits: beyond stopping the immediate bleeding, it sends a clear warning to others. Normally firing people is the last thing I advise, but, cavalier data security and/or intentional mishandling means I can't ever trust you, no matter what I build. The first day at CityGroup, I looked at the oplog of 4 of their databases, and recommended termination for 8 employees. Oplogs are sweet that way, if you have the skill. They were all gone by close of business. The rogue activity went down by 60% within 2 weeks.
