So, 4-12 predictors...how's that working out?
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"right on the money" Which... Is exactly why I have been taking big $$$ off you, and people like you, for decades. People like you bet against all probability...for reasons passing all understanding. This is like watching some loser in Atlantic City pot-commit himself with a 2 and a 7 in his hand. Once again: IF you don't understand probability, you should never gamble, ever. So now, without any "luck" you are already wrong. I'll lay $10k on the Bills getting 1(one) more, non-lucky, win this season, and, I'll give you 3-1 odds. But, I'm sorry: you don't have $10k to gamble, do you? I do: because it's 10k of other people's money that I have taken from them. Thus, I have the $$$ to put where my mouth is. And you have....? -
Bills Chiefs postgame thread
OCinBuffalo replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes...the "I blatantly grazed him with the back of my wrist" call....pathetic. Somebody should get fired for that. But, as with all massive bureaucracies...the NFL will first attempt to ignore their massive fail, which buys time, hoping that we will get over it. Then, if we refuse to get over it, they will "investigate"...which also takes forever. The entire thing is designed to play for time, and get enough people to stop caring...Chiefly( ) to get us to focus on the Patriots game, before they actually do anything about the ref(s) in question. But yeah, if that is anybody else, in any other job? Terminated on the spot. Lucky to be allowed to collect their own stuff from the office, rather than having it shipped to their home. -

No. Now the "realistic" people will tell us that we are a 6-10 team. After initially predicting 4-12, then 5-11. -

I'm not quoting BADO....the board seems broken: I'm just trying to add a new post....to my illustrious thread...which is: So, 5-11 predictors....how's that working out? Clowns! Rather than quoting myself, I'll just say: when you play at a D1 level or above, you know that things can swing, HUGE, from one game to the next. You can ask every Bills player, but, it's doubtful you'll find a definitive answer as to why we ran/stopped the run so well this game, as opposed to the last 3. -
So, 4-12 predictors...how's that working out?
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And, if anyone here really thinks the Bills will lose the rest of their games? Lay it down already. All of the 4-12 people are just as wrong today as they were when I posted. I mean come on: Just bell curving the rest of the season means 8-8. IF you don't understand that: never gamble, on anything, ever. Ok 5-11 people, are you telling us that you knew that our excellent running game in games 1-7 would up and disappear... in games 8-10? How about our run D? Yeah, you predicted that after running and stopping the run very well, we'd suddenly be unable to do either, lose 3 games... ....and therefore now we're a 5-11 team, just like you said, all along? We're supposed to believe that? Please. Nobody on this board predicted that both our lines would go from good to awful, instantly, for 3 games. Just stop. See the thing about sports, that those who haven't played at the D1+ level don't know is: sometimes things just happen. You do everything right(because when you play a real D1 team sport, it is a min. 4 hour/day job): film, practice, eating, sleep, attitude, preparation....but then at game time everything every little thing goes wrong, which makes a lot of big things go wrong, and you end the game asking not what just happened, but how? It's often dumbfounding. What the "my sports career ended in youth league/high school" fan doesn't know is: the next game, after doing everything the same, often up against a better team, it all swings from crap to great, and it's just as mystifying. EDIT: And, if things do swing with the lines, where will the 5-11 people be? Dumbfounded? Mystified? So please, spare us the S___posts. Posters have a coin flip chance of being right or wrong about this team the rest of the season. While the smart $ is on 8-8, not 5-11, it's still merely a regression of a coin flip. Basing an argument on the merits coin flip outcomes, wastes our time. -

The Fire Bell In The Night
OCinBuffalo replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
1. Please Democrats, run Warren. It's almost better for Trump, and down-ticket Rs, than keeping Pelosi. Almost. Let us be talked down to about social justice, and PC nonsense...by somebody who faked their heritage for career advancement. Better still I'd love to hear about high finance...from somebody whose financial government agency brain child is failing totally. This is just the common knowledge. Put that up against Trump's economy. Warren has never run against a serious opponent with real, grassroots political power, and, she is such a lightweight: intellectually, morally, leadership-wise. Warren can't take a political punch. Every time she does get hit: she runs and hides from all media for 3-4 months. Trump will hit her every hour, of every day. She will buckle, because she won't be able to hide, and, if she can't take 1 punch, how is she going to take 3-4 a day? By all means, run her and let's see if I'm right. 2. Biden and Bernie. Both too old, too wacky, and both have been on the wrong side of history/votes for their entire careers. They won't run, because their records say they can't. Come on, why are we even talking about this? Biden has been so wrong on foreign policy it's amazing. 30 years of never being right, not once. Bernie is a socialist. End of story. All these clowns who say Bernie could've beaten Trump? Every day it would have been "Bernie the Commie wants to take your freedom away, while I want to protect you from him". Too easy for Trump. Bernie would have lost worse than Hillary...which is exactly why the DNC rigged the race against him. 3. By all means, pretend that these elections mean that more than 25% of the country is ready to embrace your identity politics agenda. Sure, everybody wants massive personal income tax increases, to pay for other people's free college and health care: these elections said so! That's exactly what the white, working class people, who want to do the jobs they are in, want: take more $ from them, to pay for somebody else getting free stuff. 4. Don't even stop to consider that the DNC has $4 million while the RNC has $40, because....wait....does $ matter in elections, or not? You hate Citizens United, yet you dumped record sums into the GA 6th and VA governor's race. The state D parties were all cleaned out by Hillary, so they have no $ either. Yeah....but none of that matters...because your ideas, which none of you can agree on, will win the day? Yeah, these elections might have meant a lot. Unfortunately for you and most of your kind: they will mean nothing, because you still think its about Trump, which means you've learned nothing. -
Sex Allegations Against Roy Moore Send Republicans Reeling
OCinBuffalo replied to ALF's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If by "sane" you mean people that were flat out wrong about: 1. Global Warming 2. Bush losing in 2004 3. The Democrats taking the House in 2006 meaning they were going to do something(and not whine about Bush's veto, when we all knew he had it since 2004) 4. The Surge in Iraq working...one of my favorites. Many a "sane"(read: cowardly) poster never returned after this. 5. Obama being a unifying, JFK iteration, who would put country first, and usher in Real Hope, and Real Change. See: Beer Summit. 6. Obamacare(right around the end of the Obamacare debate most of the "sane" people ran away from this board, never to return. Cornhusker Kickback anyone? How about Massachusetts electing Scott Brown to fill Teddy Kennedy's seat? They could see it, and they didn't want to face the music after all the schit they had talked since 2005.) 7. Dodd Frank being a well considered piece of legislation, and not simply a blank piece of paper handed to socialists, with Obama's signature at the bottom. 8. Obamacare's design being great because it was created by the "smart people"(lawyers, college professors and Rahm Emanuel's brother, in other words: amateurs)...with those of us who actually know enterprise system design, the insurance business, and business in general, being the "dumb people". 9. Obama keeping his promise on "If you like your doctor, you can keep....", when many here said that simply could not work.(This alone ran off many "sane" posters) 10. Obamacare: The Website! Also a favorite: it was too easy for me to kill that with prose, so I literally wrote it all in poetry. (This killed off whoever was left.) Then yeah, the "sane" people have all run away. Cut the crap. 1-10 destroyed all credibility that any reasonable Democrat PPP poster had. And, there are many more things that would have killed their credibility since, ahem, Benghazi/IRS scandal. Imagine if the 2005 PPP board was all still here for Trump Wins! Please. The "sane" people left because they had been so wrong, so many times, they knew a beating was coming. Most were all long gone before the 2010 massacre. Let's not confuse "intellectual fear/dishonesty" with "sanity". It's simply cowardice. They talked all kinds of schit, and then didn't show up for the fight: exactly like the 2010 turnout. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
OCinBuffalo replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Replying to the 6th post in a 147 page thread? In this thread you WILL find post after post, fact after fact, that proves that most of this is leftist political BS, and has been since day 1. There is far and away more than enough scientific, political, and behavioral evidence to call multiple 15 yard BS flags. Example: Every single AGW model fails the exact same way, because they are all using the same value for the most important variable: CO2 sensitivity. It's a F'ing variable, not a constant, yet, every model treats it as a constant. One can easily get these models to reflect the observed data: all you have to do is dial down CO2 sensitivity. Shocking. Buuuuuut, by doing that? You destroy the entire socio-political argument...because doing that means that anthropogenic global warming will NEVER pose a real threat to the planet. We are supposed to follow the science, but, as soon as the science returns an answer the left doesn't like..... When this first began, real science would have many different models and many different methodologies, and ALL of them would have different CO2 sensitivity values, with corresponding explanations as to why. Instead, 30+ models are in methodological lock step? That is simply NOT science. No, what we have here is religion/philosophy/ideology. Doctrine over objective observation, and clowns like you trying to play Grand Inquisitor. This is the antithesis of the scientific method. As for intelligence? I found the problem in the models I mentioned above myself. How's your advanced statistics ability? I get paid big $$$ for mine. Also, when doing a statistical analysis, with a margin of error of .2, declaring that a variance of .03(= "the hottest year on record"), when said variance isn't even close to getting outside the MOE, as significant? Go look that up, try to comprehend it, and get back to me, if you can. I've just shown my intelligence: show us yours. Whatever: again, this issue is dead politically. Yap all you want. When you get done? It will still be dead. You think the new 10k coal miners that were hired in the first 3 months of Trump's presidency, in OH, WV, PA, VA, etc. are gonna vote for a D? How about the 100-300k+ energy workers added to the swing states by the time 2020 rolls around? -
Somebody please name the last thing Godell did that could in any way be labeled "executive managerial leadership performed as expected". I'm not talking beyond expectation. I'm not talking far surpassing expectation. Nope, just "as expected" for a CEO. Can't do it. Hence if I was advising the NFL, hell, IF Godell was any other CEO, with a real board of directors, in any other business, he'd have been gone already. That's why CEO's make the big $$$. It doesn't matter what you did 2 years ago, or that you grew revenues over the last x years. Nope, all that ever matters is the state of the business today, and, only an idiot or somebody with an ulterior motive, would look at Godell today and extend his contract. There has been a pattern of leadership failure, even with the revenue increases. That merely means they should keep the CFO/VP of Marketing. Looking at this strictly as a business(which it is), Godell should be gone, especially given the anthem mess. It's sheer incompetence, based on weakness. The right thing to do was to kill this off last year, before it hurt the business. Small PR pitter-patter problem that could have been easily squashed with a fine and suspension, now == 15-30% losses in revenue? That's not executive leadership. That's being a coward, and giving way to irrelevant pissants for no good reason. Not ever, no way. Godell should've been escorted out by security after the first week of the season. EDIT: Well, there's the argument ender: Fox is having the Navy do the anthem from the back of a destroyer(frigate? I'm Army so I do not care). Take away the camera. Take away the issue. It's as simple as that. Somebody at NFL Media Relations has laid down the law. Kneel, lock arms, hold hands, do the hokey-pokey, spank it....doesn't matter: nobody will be watching. It's like a meeting: "Thank you all for your opinions, but the issue is now closed."

The Pats Method of Winning is NOT Sustainable
OCinBuffalo replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In all seriousness, in the games I've seen, they look like they can be knocked off this year, without super-human effort. Which, if you all recall, isn't new: we were one inexplicable Leodis McKelvin fumbled kick-off away from knocking them off, after dominating the whole game, a few years before the Fitz win. It has always come down making less mistakes than the other team. That's no secret. It is a process, just not the kind we think of: Good Pats players have been cut/traded, if they make even 1 mistake. This derives from a coach who has won so many times, no player dares to complain about anything, ever. Belechick doesn't rule by respect as much as he rules by fear: the certainty of benching/trading/cutting any player, at any time. There is no other coach in the NFL, and there hasn't been for the last 16 years, who has anywhere near the power that Belechick does over every aspect of his player's lives. He also has control over the ref's lives, and as we've seen: his default belief is that he is above the league's rules, and he has no fear of the player's union or their agents. So, I wouldn't say there is a Patriots process: it's more like a Patriot's ideology, based on totalitarianism, intimidation and a willingness to use any method, however nefarious, to win. The rest of the NFL world simply appeases it. Even the commissioner has been burned/made to look the fool by these guys. Really, it's not that far off from how the Cold War KGB was run. -

Ahem, tuck rule anyone? Or, the "just give it to them" call that single-handedly brought back replay? 3.5? Ok, taken another way ~3.5 times out of 10. EDIT: since 20 in a row is 3.8 out of 10, we should expect a decrease in the odds to be ~3.5 in 10. -
Bills dominating turnover differential - BIG time
OCinBuffalo replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, this week the game ball was pre-ordained. You couldn't collude with anyone on that. Also, your "we don't care that Lynch was suspended because the Raiders have good RB pass-catchers out of the backfield and this should help them against the Bills" plan was foiled as well. You could have hacked every Bills server, or just one, and found out our plan: we ran straight at Mack and didn't allow him any room to make plays. That's what your Bills dossier should say, but, you want to help the Patriots, don't you, because they paid for your salacious nonsense. Be careful though: if the Bills win the division, you're going to have to find a new donor/law firm to keep your work going. Might I suggest the NFC West? Most especially, focus on the Rams, who(as I've said for years) can't fill a stadium because of the awful NFL market they are in, but, the NFL National Committee and the Rams in LA campaign will gladly pay you for your work. I know, you spent lots of Rubles on getting all the morning shows to repeat your talking points about the Bills. However, in the end, no Raider RB did anything of real note until we allowed them to, in trade for time off the clock, in the 4th. So like I said, it's time to find somebody else to pay for lies, Putin. -
Bills improve to 5-2 w/ "boring" win (article)
OCinBuffalo replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With a name like that? It's gotta be a WNY troll. Dingus is a very specific word, that few know about. Other than WNY, I'd guess, that you'd have to go to Pittsburgh or Chicago to find people that know what Dingus means. So yeah, likely a troll, who knows our culture. Put it this way, if I was gonna troll Pittsburgh, I'd call myself Corey Yinz. -
Bills improve to 5-2 w/ "boring" win (article)
OCinBuffalo replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The raw data tells us that the turnovers will continue. Any regression/algorithm will tell us the same. Math is on our side. If we get 0 turnovers, or 6, next game, both will be an outlier. I see 0 reason why anyone would predict a complete turnover "dry spell", beyond 1 game. Especially given the teams we play next. While it's entirely possible that we play a game where we don't get a turnover, it's just as possible that we get 6. This is known as "Standard Deviation". 1 SD on one side, or the other, is simply: probable. The margin of error is huge though. So, predicting that "the turnovers will dry up" is equally silly as predicting "we get 6 tunovers from the Jets!". Neither is a reasonable prediction. Now, if this is merely "intuition" or "feelings" or whatevertheFelse...hey, you might as well flip a coin 20 times...only to find out that you're right half of the time, which doesn't make you smart, and, doesn't make you wrong or a retard either. It's simply "regression towards the mean". Google that. -

OCinBuffalo replied to Billsfed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but so is living in Utah, while trying to avoid LDS people. F'ers will even show up at your hotel room. Caution is warranted. But, I've been freaking out over every NFC/AFC game since day 1 of this season, hoping the AFC team loses, and I've found: It just doesn't matter. I've decided that worrying about AFC records and division records and all the tie-breakers....is putting a serious cramp on the fun of being a Bills fan. Who the F cares? We are 5-2. We should enjoy it, regardless of what happens. We are 5-2, but if we act like we're 2-5, then WTF is the point of all of this? We are a good, winning team right now. Much better to simply accept that reality and enjoy the moment. We can't control any of this, except for making the other team false start/miss calls a the line. Basically: why so serious? -

Don't waste your time/gas. Think: It's tiny little 4 stop-light(s that matter) Orchard Park, which suddenly gets 70k new inhabitants on a Sunday. Do yourselves a favor: make dinner after the game/sober your crew up and don't try to be the first car on the 219/190. Accept the reality. Hell, if you've got a DD, head to the Big Tree for a round and chill out. You never know what's gonna happen there. I don't get the people that willingly sit in crazy post-game traffic, that will go away in 2 hours. So you get home at 7:20 instead of 9. Is there a prize for that? It's idiocy. I've traded sitting in post game traffic for talking to pretty much every Bills player worth talking to for the last 20 years, and it has cost me <$20/game. Again, I'll never understand the people who think it's some sort of game to get home 40-60 minutes faster by sitting in traffic. -
Did you think you "knew football" better than the rest of us? Really? Wait, are you a "realist"? Are you gonna sit in front of me at a pre-season game, and give me more JV coach analysis? Do I need to bring back my "fancy circles and arrows" threads, which I allowed Jeremy White to steal, because I am lazy, and it's his job anyway? Hint: when any team can run, and stop the run, how in the schit name of God did you figure it only gets 4 wins? Check it out: ATS Rankings The Bills continue to cash tickets after blasting the Raiders as short home favorites on Sunday. Link EDIT: But, now that I think about it....how many of you were really going to put your $$$ where your mouth resides? Please. Much easier to S___post on TSW, right? It costs you nothing, but, it costs our time.

Fair Warning: Move this to PPP, or I will do a full OCinBuffalo on every single clown here, especially the mods. Live by your own rules, or, lose all credibility: that means you, Simon, I dare you to give me warning points for demanding that you do your job. You clown mods have exactly 24 hours to move this thread to where it belongs, or I come out in full force., and ALL of you know what that means, since ALL of you have been whipped by me at one point or another.(Or asked me for career advice in PMs). Why the F do I, of all posters here, have to explain to you simpletons that this thread should have been at PPP 20 pages ago? Ah, I know why: utter hypocrisy + unmitigated morons + still can't accept the Trumpen King. Deal with it bitches. Yeah, give me points, do WTF you want. Like I care. You think SDS wants to read this post? No. So Why the F do I have to write it, children? Sort it out. You have 24 hours until I drop the OC Hammer on everybody here. -

Yeah, but that is play/player/per on the field. Which is the #1 fault of PFF's methodology. If we traded our newly acquired pick for Bryant and a 3rd? That's a done deal. I bet Andre Holmes has a better PFF score than Bryant....so...how does that trade go down:? (Bah, I hate typing when I'm drunk, but, for reasons passing understanding, I write code better when I've had a few. I've been trying for decades to figure this out. The "professionals" have no answers. it's no different than lacrosse, I always play better off a hangover. It makes no sense, but, there it is.) -

19 pages is a lordly troll. Or...you're an unmitigated moron. Either way, the upside of trolling(from a master's POV) is that you force people to commit to a position. 19 pages? You've done well as a troll. Now, if you are actually serious? Again, you're an unmitigated moron, for one simple reason: you made definitive statements, and somebody decided to dig them up to prove you wrong. I didn't read this thread, because, why? It's 19 pages, and I do just fine with no-look posts.
