Horowitz's IG Report Survival Kit For Leftists
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Are you really telling me you missed this entire meme for the last 3 years? And, what is he wearing? EDIT: Along with a F'ing t-shirt? -
So, when exactly did PPP become...
OCinBuffalo replied to TPS's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
We've been over this. Given the state of the posts here and especially at places like the WaPo? I am starting to believe that TL; DR actually stands for Total Loser; Doesn't Read....literally, anything. One guy today thinks he's "got us" because "Congress has been controlled by Rs forever, and they still haven't issued any indictments yet". As I've said before: your response is to call him, correctly, an idiot. My response is to try to educate him, but, unfortunately, I have to write a ton just to get him up to high school level. It's simply 2 different approaches to the same problem: aggressive ignorance. -
Ok, children let's understand: this is about being prepared, just like in Boy Scouts. I'm going to explain things to you now, so you will be ready when the bad things start to happen. There is a guy named Horowitz. He works for the FBI, sorta. He is the Inspector General for them. Inspector General means: make sure nobody is doing anything bad at the FBI. But, some people at the FBI and DOJ have been very bad, and Horowitz is going to tell on them. When Horowitz tells on them, the things he says are probably gonna make you scared, or very sad, and you will feel like crying. I'm sorry about that. I'm also sorry that so many people have lied to you for so long, which is why what Horowitz says is going to make you feel so bad. It's OK to cry, but, it's not OK to start shooting up Republican baseball practice, or things like that. I am going to help you by giving you a list of things and activities that will help choose crying, over trying to shoot people. On to the kit that will help you: 1. A Netflix account, or DVDs, so you can watch the West Wing. The West Wing will show you when leftists were the good people just trying to do a good job, and even though they make mistakes, and sometimes make each other mad, they do their best to fix their mistakes and apologize. It was always the Republicans that were the bad guys, unless they agreed to do things the Democrats way. Yeah, see? It's not like today, when the leftists are the bad guys that get told on by Horowitz. Watch 30 hours of this, in a row, while doing the rest of the list. 2. 3-4 Tubs of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Ben and Jerry are great leftists. You can get the same ice cream from Tops for half the price, but, Tops doesn't send some of its money to the Rainforest. Plus, if you watch Horowitz on TV, you can tell him that he doesn't get any of your ice cream. That will make you feel less powerless. 3. 1 nice comfy set of pajamas, and perhaps some coffee or tea. I hear you really like to wear pajamas, but don't change them that often. This is your big chance. 4. While you are watching West Wing, sometimes go to Buzzfeed and Vox, and log in to their message boards. But, be careful. Some of those children won't have this list and they might make you feel sad, because they are going to be really mad at Horowitz for telling. We'll see if I need to add more things to your survival kit, but, you should start working on getting the things I've already listed, because Horowitz might tell any day now.

So, when exactly did PPP become...
OCinBuffalo replied to TPS's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's simple really: 1. Here we can tear you a new one if you say stupid things. 2. There we can't. IMHO, there should only be 1 rule for any message board: "You are entitled to your opinion, but, the rest of the board is entitled to mock you mercilessly for it". -
What do you think you will learn if I tell you that I was roofied by a psycho girl, and cuffed to her bed for 2 days in college?
-
Well, it all started out in a little town in Indiana....

Hey dammit, you left out the SMEs on nakedness. I'm naked most of the time. The cleaning lady doesn't mind. The food delivery people are Ok with it, well, after they realized that I ain't changing, and, I tip well. When does the always naked/mostly naked/sometimes naked community get to have their voices heard on this issue? We refuse to be silenced! This is a moral as well as a civil rights issue, and we demand that everyone in this country see no difference between being naked and being unnaked. Every other way to think is immoral. It's not a matter of being "naked-blind", it's a matter of nakedness never even entering your mind, because you've closed it completely, and therefore defeated your naked-normative bias. Only then will you people be allowed to ascend Moral Mountain. But know this: if you EVER refuse to support our edicts against the naked-normative, you will be cast down from Moral Mountain faster than you can say Brazilian.

Um, we had a chance to draft Russel Wilson in the 3rd(and the 1st and the 2nd), and took TJ Graham instead, so that's not close to right. Clearly something other than a golden horseshoe was up our asses. Big Ben was a MAC QB that was a "2nd rounder" per the "experts", that was taken by the Steelers in the first round, IIRC staying right in their spot, no trades. Franchise QBs come from all sorts of places(ask Kurt Warner EDIT: and while we're at it, Warren Moon), and Top 10 drafted QBs have been busting more than they have been hitting, for quite a while now. The best QB draft class of all time == 1983. Check that, and when you are done, look up Ryan Leaf, Jemarcus Russel(did you know he can throw 60 yards on his knees?). When were Marino and Kelly taken? Your point has now been terminated. IF anything is same old, same old, it's this time of year, when we told that the only way to win is to have the #1 pick....when we have seen Cleveland, San Francisco, Detroit, DC, and wherever the Raiders are playing this year, play hackey sack with the damn thing for decades. None of them have done anything right with it. Who else has converted a #1 into a day 1 Pro-Bowl caliber QB, besides the Colts with Luck, in the last 10 years? How about 20?
-
well I know this much: if Kelly and I agree on something, then that something has high chance of being true. Why? Because normally we see the world very differently.

I don't think the Browns are taking a QB at 1 or 4..
OCinBuffalo replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What this comes down to: Where is Cleveland drafting next year? What % chance to they have of not being a top 5 team next year? How about a top 10 team? Mathematically, they have the highest propensity, the same as every team, of going 8-8. Next is 7-9/9-7, etc. We don't(and I stress, again, CAN'T) "know" anything about where a team will finish until next December. However, we can speculate that Cleveland has a higher propensity to be drafting in the top 10 next year, than they do of drafting in the middle 10 or bottom 12, and be fairly comfortable with that assessment. Given all of this, again, nothing says they have to go QB this year, especially if they don't see a true franchise QB in this class. They might see one next year, and if that's the case, they need as many resources as possible to get up to #1 and get him. A team can't simply blow #1 overall, or #4 overall, on a QB who isn't good enough to be drafted there, for no reasons other than "because Mr. Weo says so", "because TV says so", or "we have to because we have to". That's how you get Johnny Washout, Tim Couch or the rest of the awful QB picks Cleveland has taken: "because". -
I don't think the Browns are taking a QB at 1 or 4..
OCinBuffalo replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disinformation. I specifically wrote a thread about this. I guarantee you that Cleveland: 1. Knows they can't get out of #1, because nobody is willing to pay for that spot, unless it''s utter idiot drafting team like the Redskins or Raiders. 2. Wants to get out of #4 in the worst way. You can't tell me that Cleveland is "good", when 70% of their roster, before FA, had won 0 or 1 NFL football games in their career. Signing Tyrod and the rest doesn't make Cleveland competitive, never mind good. Cleveland needs more picks than they have. They can't get enough out of 1 pick, even #4, to turn their team around. They need many 2, 3 and 4s for that. So, they are threatening to take a QB. So what? They are trying to force the value of #4 up as high as they can. Only suckers are buying that. Look at what happened to the Raiders in 2013: They only got a 2nd rounder for Miami to move up from #12 to #3. The Raiders had to move down, and, because everybody knew it, they got less value for it. (Meanwhile, this is also the year/trade that we raped the Rams, because they had raped the Redskins the year before in the RG3 trade ...which ultimately resulted in Shady McCoy, Buffalo Bill. I will never stop laughing at this whole thing. Tell me again about RG3.... ) So, again, like I said in my thread: don't buy the disinformation. Cleveland's position is weak, not strong. Them really taking a QB @ 4 when they already have a serviceable starter, AND, just lost their All-Pro LT, is a story only an unmitigated moron believes. -
Name me a bridge QB that actually helped a rookie
OCinBuffalo replied to Bing Bong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Easy. The best example of a bridge QB working is Doug Pederson--->Donovan McNabb. Official Story. Actual Story: I lived in Philly at the time and observed this whole thing. It was a brilliant set of moves by that Eagles FO. First: Eagle fans are aggressively ignorant about football, in general. They booed when McNabb was drafted. ( ) Pederson was signed for 2 reasons: 1) the Eagles weren't doing much that year no matter what. so, why throw your high draft pick rookie QB to the dogs, crush his confidence, and set the idiot Eagles fans against him from day 1? 2) Pederson was decent, but never, ever good enough to beat out McNabb, once McNabb got his NFL sea legs., so, no controversy. After around game 7, the same idiot Eagle frans who had booed his pick, were demanding that McNabb start! So, of course, they started McNabb, as they had planned to all along, and of course, the idiot fans claimed credit for forcing them to do it. The whole thing was an obvious setup, and the small # of intelligent fans knew it, but, why complain? McNabb came in and played great. In the end, 90% of their fans were happy. Tough thing to pull off in Philly, and it worked out great for both players. -
Looking at what film I could find... ...seems like this guy does the job that lets other people get stats. He doesn't get moved much on a double team, so he can still fill a gap and a half, and MOST of the time he doesn't allow one of the double teamers to get to the next level. He also gets a lot of push, which disrupts plays i.e. making a RB run wider to hit a gap, pushing interior lineman back towards the QB so he can't step up, and cutback contain against RBs. None of those things usually result in big plays. I see that kind of stuff, which may or may not be his role. He doesn't always accomplish what appears to be his assignment. Then again, a lot of times its hard to tell exactly what his assignment is. We're really going to have to wait and see on this guy, more than normal.
-
I doubt anyone is going anywhere as a result of this signing. McDermott and Co. want to be able to rotate people/packages depending on down, distance and field position. We have yet to see the full implementation of that, partly because we had so much $ wrapped up in Dareus, partly because we just didn't have the right dudes, due to trying to build the perfect Rex machine.

Disinformation: Bigger enemy now more than ever.
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will make the correction. How so? I'm talking about the entire fanbase being assaulted by BS. I'm not talking about my new car, the fact that I got our OC to take a picture of me near it, or the fact that I take time out of my day to talk to janitors at Denny's. And, if we're playing the correction game? It's "self-involved". -
Disinformation: Bigger enemy now more than ever.
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No might. There will. And when you're reading 4 separate threads, each about a QB "we can trade/could have traded up for"...all based on anonymous "league sources"? I'm not going to be the one "worked up" . No, the legions of posters in those threads will be. And, for what? Perhaps this thread stems some of that before it even starts. At the very least, we need to be slightly more skeptical about the media, given the current(but not for much longer) clickbait business model. Yawn. I put this in its own thread for a reason: it's not like I'm stopping you from screaming at anybody who might suggest signing Sammy Watkins, because, you know, we need a WR. You can do that in every other thread, just not this one. -
Disinformation: Bigger enemy now more than ever.
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Make more sense or GTFO. Exactly what truth are you talking about? The truth that McCarron was going to the Browns, "for sure"? That truth? Your second line makes it look like English is your third language. -
1. Other threads are for talking about whether the moves the FO makes in FA good/bad, not this one. 2. Other threads are for talking about whether we should do this/that in the draft, not this one. 3. There's a lot to be excited about, unless you really liked Tyrod, or really hate (insert FA QB we sign here)and that's all fine, but, not in this thread. What is this thread about then, since I've just taken 90% of the current front page out of its scope?(And yeah, the joke is: "Nothing!." Or, "This thread is irrelevant." No it isn't. You'll see.) We can all agree we have a plethora of options now, due to the draft picks and extra cap space. However, everybody in the entire NFL, would also agree. Thus, our "wealth" is as much of a boon as it is a problem. Everybody is going to be pitching everything at the Bills, and us as the fans, and the sheer noise of the # of offers, will make finding the good ones much harder. Not only will they be pitching us BS, more importantly, they will be pitching BS about and around us. And of course, since we've got so much, we're more inclined to listen. We must not be. Thus the title of the thread: disinformation is now our biggest enemy. Easy example: our FO plan is to package a #1, a #2, and our new #3 to move up to spot X and take player Y. Then, we hear that another team, who is currently ~10 draft picks closer to spot X, wants to trade up to X. Now, do we add even more value to get there? Or pass? What happens when it is leaked? Answer: emotional outbursts, as designed, and now "we could have/have had player Y if only we threw in our #4 ", becomes a 10 page thread, when we have no idea if that is true, and probably never will. Remember the Saints pathetic attempt to blame us for not trading them Marshawn Lynch, after he and the Seahawks beat them in the playoffs a few years ago? What we "hear/heard" about another other team's plans: 1. Could be from that team BSing because they want a different trade to happen instead, and have no actual intention of executing their plan to get to spot X. 2. Could be from another team who is behind us in the Day 2 rounds, wanting to draft a guy who we won't, if we are forced to use extra resources 3. Could be a player's agent, or more than one of them, who see an angle to increase player(s) "value"/ensuring that we pass, so that said player(s) go(es) elsewhere. 4. Is coming from Jerry Jones, because, he can't miss a chance to be part of this Bills story-->we are now the biggest story, Jerry has to part of the biggest story. So, does Woody Johnson, Jets and Dan Snyder, Redskins. Hey, I'm not saying any of it makes sense, I'm merely directing you to: history. These guys have a long history of treating headlines and buzz >>> getting good players for their team. We are now the #1 team to watch, like it, or not, and they will be. You get the idea. Remember: in the Buddy Nix era WE were the masters of disinformation, which is how we got Cordy Glenn in the 2nd, as a starting LT, not a G. But, we had to be, we had a lot less to work with, just like the other teams in 2018 have a lot less than we do. The media hasn't had a very good track record, for 2 years running now, of getting stories right, in anything, including sports. Example: "McCarron to the Browns, lock it up!" No, "Tyrod to the Browns, you media hack." Ask: who benefited from the McCarron story? ALL media, because it means clicks, but certainly McCarron's agent, and the Bengals did. Media will write what they are told, or else they risk losing access to their team's FO, their agent sources, or the NFL as a whole. And, why not, if it, again, means clicks? That's exactly what every Bills fan faces now. A huge, due to our huge 2018 resources, disinformation campaign, unlike we have ever seen. They intend chaos for the Bills and fans: to make us massively support/hate whatever, so that our FO is pushed into doing stupid. The media will be the tool. I'm not saying our FO are unmitigated morons. Clearly they aren't. But even the most disciplined can be tested when an angry mob comes knocking. Therefore, I propose the following: rather than all out war on this board for the next year, or longer, it might be wiser for us to have a thread were we try to document potential disinformation against the Bills and our fanbase, then analyze it, from the context of who benefits from it. That is what this thread is for, and perhaps, just maybe, we avoid becoming the chaos factory/angry mob: which is disinformation's #1 goal.

Answer: platform. The "thinking" on this is that they have the public's attention, at times, however fleeting. Therefore, it is incumbent on them to use this platform "wisely"(meaning to support whatever daft crap the far left comes up with next), and of course, anybody who refuses to use the platform, like Taylor Swift, should be investigated for any sign of Trump tolerance. The fact that Swift used actual wisdom as an argument, saying that she simply wasn't old/experienced enough to tell other people what to do(the very definition of wisdom), is a great sin, somehow, that the Hollywood Complex simply can't process. See, I don't blame the entertainers. It's the executives and producers, ahem Weinstein, that drive celebrities into saying stupid things for short term gain, that crush them long term. There's all this manufactured guilt and angst, to go along with the jealousy from others, that drive celebrities into doing "something". It's a lie. Celebrities aren't obligated to do anything for anyone. They have a job, if they are good, and they do it, if they are good. They aren't obligated to do anything other than their job. But, the "doing something" angle can be used to further a celebrity's failing career: Who wants to see the next movie starring Mark Ruffalo? Nobody. He is uninteresting as an actor. However, in eminem fashion, he's trying to revitalize his career by using politics, and dumbass leftists. What this all comes down to is: The death of philanthropy(think: Ralph Wilson anonymously giving millions to spinal trauma research, which happily/ironically saved Kevin Everett's life/mobility) vs the rise of "caring" marketing (think: For every $1 you spend on product X, they will spend $.20 on the Red Cross). This is all marketeering crap. The word Brand excuses all the anti-philanthropic, emotional blackmail that passes for "charity" and "social consciousness" today.

With every Freedom Rider's...Horse? LOL
OCinBuffalo replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I messed up. He said "Every Freedom Rider's voice" not "horse". But it takes 2-3 times through to make sure. I literally had to leave where I was, and watch it in what amounts to my personal SCIF to get the distinction. It sure as hell sounds like "horse" initially, especially in the ambient noise of a bar. But, the fact is I was wrong. He says voice. Apparently I'm not alone though, plenty of people on twitter et al are saying his speech was riddled with bad emphasis and inflection. Oh well, it would have been funny as hell if he had said horse. But, I guess I'll just have to defer to all the Chapstick, and drool, and unmentionable substance memes. As I was leaving the bar words like "facial" were being used. Cripes Yuck. I was hoping I had identified a substantive error. Now it seems it's gonna be all Lip Gloss, Chapstick, or worse, all the time. One thing that hasn't changed despite my error: He has still destroyed is LAMP JFK thing...because drool. -
Joe Kennedy is now an unmitigated moron. He was a lightweight, and had no business delivering a response to the SOTU. Now? He is an unmitigated moron. "With every Freedom Rider's horse..." (Lewis Black on the dumbest thing he ever heard: "If it wasn't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college". Absurdity invites comparison) Hey clown: they rode buses, not horses. Freedom Riders Ride Buses in Civil Disobedience against segregation laws He literally destroyed his, "look at me, I'm a young Kennedy", attempt at being JFK. JFK had audacity and ran for Senate even though many people said he was too young. Joe Kennedy tried to do the same thing. Joe: we know Jack Kennedy and you are no Jack Kennedy. It is entirely disrespectful to the Freedom Riders(which btw included many white people), to not even bother understanding what they did and why, because you can't even get the vehicle right. Somewhere, well, not right this minute, but soon, after somebody explains it to him, Dan Quayle will smile. I fully expect the usual clowns to ignore this/or try to plaster over it. But, I also expect Rush Limbaugh et al to be all over it, and thus, it will never die.

Not Just Underdogs, Blowout Predicted
OCinBuffalo replied to RobH063's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has this guy watched Jacksonville film the last 4 weeks?I have. They aren't good enough to put up 44 on anybody, because barring a Jets QB-like(Buttfumble, Gino Smith going 1-3 to his guys, and 2-3 to ours) total meltdown, there simply isn't enough time in a game for them to score that much. They might be able to reach 44 if games lasted 2 hours. It's not just what they run on O(variations of the same small chunks O we saw here), but how they run it(repeatedly), that all but prevents Jacksonville from scoring at anywhere near the pace they need to put up 34 points, never mind 44. Thus the only path to 44, or 34, or really, 24, for Jacksonville runs through: help from the other team's offense, and, to a lesser extent, kicking game. This can be due to my own visual bias: I don't have hard #s, yet, but given what I have watched, I'd guess that a team that doesn't help them with turnovers, has ~65-70% chance to win. And, that a team that gets ahead of them by 2 scores has a ~90% chance to win. When I get time tonight, I'm gonna do this math, and create a "help propensity stat" that should make things clear as to whether my swaggy % is right or wrong. As well, I'll do a "comeback propensity". -
Jacks-Ville # 1 rush team in NFL
OCinBuffalo replied to Socal-805's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He did get 1. But, agreed, that's a weak effort. -
One would think that posters here would have learned about the danger of making overly definitive predictions...from 2016.
-
I was with my parents. I expected them to react like the posts above. Instead...they just stat there...stupified. I honestly thought I was gonna have a great "reaction video". The best explanation I've been able to come up with is: shock, after years of...affectation? It was more like watching people get freed from, I dunno, a concentration camp? I hate to use that metaphor, but it's the most accurate. You see the half-smiles, but it's more like "we've survived, now, can I get 1 shrimp please?" I really can't figure it out. I mean, I felt like calling the Red Cross and getting them blankets and stuff. It's bizarre. Strangest New Year's Eve ever...which is why I am posting here instead of being elsewhere. I really thought I was looking at "Red Wedding" level Youtube reaction video. Instead I get the end of the Waltons.
