Sestak was a 17th round pick in the 1962 AFL Draft. There were only 8 teams then.
Bart Starr was a 17th round pick in the 1956 NFL Draft, but there were only 12 teams back then. That would be about a 6th round pick now.
Yeah, older guys might not be getting many reps in camp. Didn’t McCoy sit for all the preseason games last year? Also, allows for injuries. There will be a lot of good competition for roster spots at all offensive positions except QB.
Yeah, I was surprised to see him at that height & weight being called thin and then I read he had thin legs, which showed in the video. As long as he works with a trainer, he can put some meat on his legs without affecting speed that much.
Looking at his bio on NFL.com, he’s considered too thin and doesn’t have enough strength (both of which can be worked on). However, he also hasn’t shown the ability to get separation. He may have been overrated to some because he was catching balls from Will Grier.
It’s all a crapshoot from here on. Last year the Bills used 6th & 7th rnd picks on WRs and only one made the team while 2 undrafted players (Foster, Cam Phillips) were on the roster.
And running away from people. Remember folks, the greatest receiver of all time, Jerry Rice, was clocked at like 4.70. I don’t remember him getting caught from behind.
