  1. I recall pondering these days when all these long-time starters would hang them up. With the poor record of success for QBs drafted, the NFL QB play could really suffer. Add to that the regression of recently drafted guys like Mariota, Trubisky, Mayfield, Goff, etc.
  2. Yeah, Joe Montana was an average QB at Notre Dame. Had the Bills drafted him back then instead of Bill Walsh and the Niners, he may not have been a HOFer.
  3. That’s why I’m of the opinion that you not only invest in a good backup QB, you also carry a 3rd. If you’re serious about winning, you don’t have a backup that can’t win games for you and you don’t have a guy who played some QB in high school as your emergency quarterback. It’s the most important position on the team. I don’t understand why most teams don’t carry a 3rd QB on the roster. Your starter gets hurt and is going to miss games, so your backup is now starting and you’re going to then add a guy from the practice squad or off the street? The Bills are said to have a complex offense. Could they really expect to have someone learn enough on one week. They’d have to really limit the number of plays. There are currently only 16 games in an NFL season. If you want to make the playoffs, you shouldn’t be cheap with the backup QBs.
  4. LOL! I was thinking the same thing!
  5. Just “NO!” No more guys with injury history.
  6. Yes, outside of this year they always enshrine six. I liked when Baseball in 2013 didn’t induct anybody. If there’s nobody worthwhile they shouldn’t go looking for someone just to induct.
  7. I was surprised at James also but he is 13th All-Time in rushing yards with 12,246.
  8. Living away from Buffalo, I called in sick after each of the Bills Super Bowls. I didn’t want to deal with people. No, I can’t hate a team like the Patriots all season and then root for them in the SB.
  9. l agree on the kickoffs. There’s nothing more exciting as the crowd noise builds for the opening kickoff. Of course, these days for the NFL, the noise quickly dies down when the ball is kicked out of the end zone.
  10. I’ve watched them all at least a couple times. SB 26 & 27 are just too tough to watch. SB 25 is frustrating to watch when you know the Bills were the better team but the Giants seemed to make all the clutch plays. I still don’t know how Hostetler held onto the ball on that safety. SB 28 was difficult to see a halftime lead lost on the Thurman fumble that deflated the whole team.
  11. Yeah, I recorded the first few but haven’t watched yet (NHL AllStar Weekend!).
  12. Green Bay and KC for repeat of SB 1
  13. Heard the plan is the same for this year. It’s colder here in Sacramento than Buffalo right now. I’d like to move south but wife doesn’t
  14. Why did the D-Line coach leave an NFL job with the Bills to go back to Virginia Tech for the same position?
  15. Yes, and one thing I was surprised to see in every game of his I watched, were plays where, to avoid a sack, he would just toss the ball in the air while in a defender’s grasp. They looked like plays a rookie would make. It was amazing he wasn’t intercepted more.
  16. Crying? There’s no crying in football!
  17. I can see it now on marker boards at their facility: Ruhle’s Rules
  18. Yes, that was so bizarre that Brady Quinn, Weeden and Manuel were all the 22nd pick.
  19. Obviously the play called for the other receivers to go deep
  20. The ref in the end zone didn’t think the play was dead as he backed away from the ball when the returner tossed it to him.
  21. I went through the same thing with people about the Zay Jones miss in the Carolina game a couple years ago. It was a very difficult catch but many people were calling it a drop. May not worth the time trying to convince them.
  22. Brees and New Orleans. Second would be Rodgers and Green Bay. AFC I guess KC. Titans will be tough the way Henry is running. I play DFS and thought about picking Henry but I figured Bellycheck always focuses to stop the opponent’s strength. 200+ yards? Man!
  23. I have felt this way many times in the 50 years I’ve been following this team. It’s tough to not go all in on rooting for a team, but it might be healthier.
