That’s great! When I first saw what Brady said, I thought “wait a minute, he just retired”. It’s not like he retired 10+ years and is comparing eras.

We're Going To The Playoffs. (edit: Updated - Super Bowl)
BobbyC81 replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just posted the same thing an hour before you did. -
It’s not over until I say it’s over! As opposed to that 5 game stretch of blown games, they showed today that they could go toe to toe with one of the elite teams in the league on the road. I will kindly eat crow if I’m wrong, but I still predict, as I did last week, that they will come out of the bye and win their last 5 games. Miami will lose to Baltimore and Dallas and when the Bills beat the Dolphins in the last game, they will again win the AFC East.

Gabe Davis Miscommunication Plays this season
BobbyC81 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
But didn’t Allen say a while back that Gabe was the smartest WR he had played with? -
The playing of the game has also been mediocre overall this season. I used to like watching other games with QBs like Brees, Peyton Manning, Rodgers, Rivers, etc. Now, we’re lucky to see a couple games that are worth watching. Even Brady agrees with me.
-
Exactly. From what we could see from the broadcast, he was calmer than I expected. Yes, he should’ve complained enough to get a penalty and fine. In my opinion, there were too many key plays in this game to blame it on one call, but that was blatant. Should Josh have tried to throw that ball? Of course not, but common sense is not being used on there grounding calls this season. On that play, Josh was in the grasp and being spun around. Of course the ball isn’t going to go where intended. QB throws deep, receiver stops and that’s grounding? Ridiculous! I hope the Competition Committee addresses this in the off-season.

I was shocked the refs actually called the roughing the passer penalty in OT. Since there was some acting by Josh, I wouldn’t have been surprised for there to be no roughing but Josh called for unsportsmanlike conduct for the acting. it honestly seemed like the refs were on the take or were afraid to call penalties against the home team in Philly.
-
Honestly, yes there were MANY calls that went against the Bills but there were a lot of key plays in the game and Philly just found a way to make enough of them to win the game.
-
I see you’ve been paying attention to the broadcast refs in the past week. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard this mention of ‘time element’ before but have now heard it several times in the last week.

Ingram and Isabella elevated from Practice Squad for Eagles game
BobbyC81 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just slightly over Sherfield, who was talked up by his former teammates in Miami but hasn’t contributed much -
Here’s my Bills prediction: they lose the next game to go into the bye at 6-6. Out of the bye, they win the last 5 games, which would include of course winning the last game in Miami. Miami loses to Dallas and Baltimore. Both teams end up 11-6 but we get the division by beating them twice. As the division winner with the worst record, the Bills have to play the best wild card team, which is Miami and we beat them a 3rd time at home in January.

Can’t you read lips?
-
It’s unfortunate the order of the next 2 games wasn’t the opposite. It’s been said that after a team plays Philly, they’re all beat up, so would’ve been nice to play KC after they play them. Still we have Philly n a shorter week, whatever difference that may make.

John Warrow gets "corrected" by McDermott
BobbyC81 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
OP needed to do something to get clicks. -
When they showed the first camera shot of Brady in the booth, with the red hair and perfect bowl type cut, I thought “Mark Davis Jr?” but then saw it wasn’t quite the same.
-
Davis sure isn’t boosting his value for his upcoming free agency.
-
And Romo continues to be , IMO, the best NFL analyst in the way he breaks down plays.
-
No, it was the trip to London.
-
The other day somebody posted something about comments McD made about a coordinator being in the booth vs on the field. Does that mean Brady is going to be down on the field? what the he11 does Shula do? Why not have one in the booth and one on the field? Maybe that was part of the leadership comments about Dorsey. Was he using Brady & Shula enough?

I don’t understand why they have him running such short routes. He’ll catch a pass 5 yards from a first down and then have to dive for, but usually comes up short of, the first down. Plus, his routes are by the sidelines. I thought he was supposed to be the new over the middle slot guy?
-
Yep, if there’s a new head coach, there shouldn’t be any ties to Poyer and Hyde so it would be time to get younger there. As much as I and most would like to see a 1st round WR, they may want to look at the safeties available. As good as the defense has been, they lack speed. You need to have some guys that, if they get into the backfield on a pass rush, can actually get the QB down instead of just chasing him around the field as he runs for a 1st down on 3rd and long, like Wilson did several times. Or, if a runner or receiver breaks free, have someone who has a chance to run him down. With Josh’s new contract starting next season, I also expect some head chopping in order to field a competitive team.

Can’t argue with the success of the Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan coaching trees. Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell coached with both. Mike McDaniel, Robert Saleh and DeMeco Ryan’s are doing well as Shanahan descendants. On Shanahan’s current staff is our old friend Anthony Lynn as assistant head coach/RBs. Lynn had varying success as head coach of the Chargers. Other offensive coaches include Gary Kubiaks’ sons as Offensive passing game coordinator (Klint) and assistant QB coach (Klay), Brian Griese as QB coach, Bobby Turner as RB coach and Chris Foerster as running game coordinator. The Niners current Defensive Coordinator is Steve Wilks who failed miserably in his one season as Arizona Cardinals coach. The Rams staff features Mike LaFleur as Offensive Coordinator and Raheem Morris as Defensive Coordinator. Morris had a mediocre 3 year stint as head coach of Tampa Bay. I believe, if McDermott were to be fired, the Bills should go after an offensive coach as a new head coach. So, the best options from the above could be 1. bringing back Anthony Lynn; 2. Klint Kubiak who has extensive experience as an offensive coach, including 3 years with his dad in Denver, and 3 seasons as a coordinator. 3. Mike LaFleur who has several years experience as an NFL Offensive Coordinator.

Do you think the Bills brass and coaches read this forum ??
BobbyC81 replied to arcadia bob's topic in The Stadium Wall
Believe it or not, Steph Curry says he checks social media at halftime of his Warriors games. Any negative comments give him motivation coming out for the 2nd half and is partially responsible for him and his team frequently having monster 3rd Qtrs. I thought he was kidding the first time I heard about it as you wouldn’t expect a future Hall of Famer would need such motivation but have seen it mentioned several times over the years. -
To me, most of the fun, and frustration, in fantasy football is making your own lineup decisions and enjoying the results. I don’t understand people getting all over social media asking for advice.
-
Yeah, he seems to be having too much fun.
