  1. You mean like when we drafted JP ??
  2. Excellent response. Anyone who doesn't agree with Gailey as head coach has several options. They can stop following the Bills. They can stop going to the games or watching the Bills on NFL Ticket. Not much is gained by whining about it.
  3. I know it's very disappointing when we hoped for someone like Cowher, Gruden, Shanahan to be hired but let's give Nix and Gailey some time to prove themselves. Let's see what happens with the draft, free agency and how the team does for like the 1st half of the 2010 season. I admit some bias when Nix was promoted to GM and Gailey mentioned as top candidate for head coach as to them being Bubbas from the South. Then I thought about how the South knows football. They live and breathe football. Gailey has been successful and has a better resume than Gregg Williams, Mularkey & Jauron did when they were hired. In fact I think he has a better resume than Levy did when he was hired as Bills' HC. Gailey took the Cowboys to the playoffs in both seasons as their head coach. So, again, I suggest giving this new regime some time to gain our confidence.
  4. Bring back Ted Cottrell. He now has head coaching experience so if Gailey doesn't work out, he takes over.
  5. Root for the Saints this year. At least the Bills have been to 4 Super Bowls. Saints joined NFL in 1967 and have never made it.
  6. He's somewhat of a jerk, too!! He had a public spat with Alex Smith and threw him under the bus. I just have a feeling, after having tasted being head coach, he's not a guy you'd want as a coordinator. He'd probably make Gailey miserable.
  7. How long before the team name gets changed to the "Buffalo Bubbas"???!!
  8. You never know what Al Davis is going to do but he's another owner that won't pay for head coaching talent. I don't think he'd make a good enough offer to Frazier if he even talked to him.
  9. Looking at the voting for the AP All-Pro team, it was interesting to see the following for Offensive Tackles: 1. Jason Peters- the guy we couldn't make happy & traded away: 5th with 5 votes 2. Bryant McKinnie- in retrospect, the guy the Bills should've taken over Fat Mike Williams- 4 votes 3. Michael Oher- the guy the Bills should've taken with their 1st pick of the 2009 Draft instead of Maybin- 4 votes
  10. That was probably $10 Mil for the whole contract.
  11. Somebody needs to contact Nix. Maybe they haven't even thought of Sherman.
  12. LOL!! BFW1234 has 146 posts and about 25 of them either just say "Brohm" or include his opinion that he will be the starting QB. Are you a relative of Brohm??
  13. GR8PRKN has been waived from the Practice Squad!! 8-4??!! You going to stop playing after 12 games??
  14. My local paper (Sacramento Bee, a McClatchy paper) had these notes on Leslie Frazier: "A former Chicago Bears defensive teammate of Mike Singletary on the Super Bowl XX championship team, Frazier worked his way up the ranks as a defensive backs coach before becoming a highly regarded defensive coordinator in Minnesota. He's said to be a leader of men with a high football IQ. Look for Frazier to become the Buffalo Bills' new coach as soon as this week and for him to have a longer NFL coaching career than Pete Carroll in Seattle." The "He's said to be a leader of men with a high football IQ." line reminds me too much of someone else once part of the Bears organization.
  15. He lacks vision into holes. He ends up in Beast Mode most of the time because he runs into his blockers or the defense. He had a few decent runs this year on counter plays but F.Jackson is much more consistently productive.
  16. I noticed that Saturday's NFL schedule was risky as both games were on NBC with the 1st game starting at 4:30 PM Eastern time and allotted 3.5 Hours with the 2nd game starting at 8:00 PM. I wonder what their plan was if the 1st game went into overtime, and especially extended overtime, not a minute plus like the Arizona/Green Bay game.
  17. I'm sure some of you caught this. At the start of the 2nd half of the Baltimore/New England game, the Pats go three-aqnd-out so Chris Hanson comes in to punt and shanks it out at the 30 yard line for about a 30 yard kick. One of his teammates (#50- Rob Ninkovich) was obviously close to the sideline mike about where the ball went out, turns around towards Hanson and yells out "C'mon Chris!! You Moron!!" That was hilarious!!
  18. Yes, like John Fox. And how many people heard of Atlanta's Mike Smith before he took that job and put the Falcons in the playoffs his 1st season?? I still think the ownership & management of the Bills makes it difficult for anybody to be successful. Now, Mularkey & Greg Williams both didn't last here but were being interviewed for other jobs back then. The Bills also interviewed Fox. How can they keep getting it wrong?? Same with the QBs?
  19. Change it to Billick?
  20. Might still find someone to trade for him. Too bad that the teams that would normally take a chance, like Cincinnati, Oakland & Dallas, already have strong stables of RBs.
  21. I would not use a 1st round pick on any of these guys. I would rather the Bills used 1st 2 rounds on OT & LB then look at the likes of LeFlour, Levi Brown, etc. in the 3rd or 4th. Nobody worthwhile in free agency either. Hopefully the new coaching staff, Nix, etc. consider all positions open for competition. I did not like the move of last off-season in signing a "backup" QB so as not to put pressure on Edwards when we could have had a more proven guy like Kitna who could've taken over the starting position and done something with it. Also, considering the QB drafting crapshoot and different paces of development, we also may have a strong QB candidate in Brohm, a former 2nd round pick.
  22. I analyzed which teams may be wanting to draft a quarterback and there are few who might even use an early round pick on one: AFC East Bills- YES!!!! Dolphins- I'd say No- Pennington may or may not be able to recover from his latest shoulder injury but Henne performed well enough for being inexperienced. Pats- No- Brady bounced back and is only 32 Jets- No- just got Sanchez AFC North Steelers- No- have big Ben Bengals- No - C.Palmer only 30 Browns- maybe- B.Quinn has had 3 years but like the Bills with Losman, I think they give him a 4th year to make it Ravens- No- have Flacco AFC South Colts- No- Manning soon to be 34 but they don't need to do anything yet Texans- No- have Schaub Titans- No- should wait & see if the 2nd half of this year shows V.Young finally the guy Jags- No- Garrard does good enough AFC West Chargers- No- Rivers Broncos- probably not as Orton did well enough & it wasn't his fault for team's late collapse Chiefs- No- huge investment in Cassell, who did OK, so he'll get at least another year Raiders- ??? but probably 1st likely team to think about drafting one- you never know what Al Davis is thinking but speculation is he'll give the big investment in J.Russell more time. They also have Gradkowski, Frye & JP NFC East Giants- No- Eli Eagles- No- McNabb with Kolb waiting in wings Skins- probably not- Shanahan said he's looking forward to working with Campbell, which could be blowing smoke but I say he tries to work with him for a year Cowboys- No- Romo- unless he really stinks it up tonight or gets injured NFC North Pack- No- Rodgers- Lions- No- just drafted Stafford Bears- No- just got Cutler- despite his # of INTs, he should be given more time Vikes- Maybe- could be time to draft Favre replacement NFC South Tampa- No- just got Freeman Saints- Hell No- Brees Panthers- probably- Delhomme was horrible so it depends what they think of Moore Falcons- No- Ryan NFC West Niners- probably not- I think Alex Smith showed enough to be given another year Seahawks- maybe- Hasselbach getting old & brittle. Carroll may want to draft his own guy Arizona- probably not- Warner old but depends on what they think about Leinhart's development Rams- very likely- Bulger aging & brittle and Boller a free agent So, counting Bills, that's 7 teams that may be looking to draft a QB in early rounds
  23. Yep. There are 34 Bowl Games this year, including the BCS Championship. So, 68 teams make a bowl game. There are 120 Division I FBS teams so more than half the teams play in a bowl game.
  24. I wasn't too impressed by Hangartner at Center. Saw too many plays where a tackle pushed him back into the backfield. Putting a healthy Wood at center and Incognito at guard sounds like the best plan.
  25. After watching this last game and seeing how the Colts helped both Reggie Wayne & Dallas Clark each get 100 receptions for the season and the Bills made a point of getting Fred Jackson to 1,000 yards rushing, it again crossed my mind what a disgrace it was that the Bills coaching staff let T.O.'s "Consecutive Games with a Reception Streak" end. All they had to do is throw him a flanker screen, even if it didn't gain anything. This was another point of how clueless Jauron was. Detractors can say the game was more important than individual statstics but there was no reason you couldn't do both. Living in the SF Bay Area during Jerry Rice's time with both the Niners & Raiders, I saw many games at the end of Rice's career where the coaching staff got him the ball early to continue his streak and a few times he didn't catch another ball in the game. I actually was impressed with Owens behavior this season compared to how he's been in the past. It is amazing that he didn't react when his streak was ended by the clueless Bills staff.
