The game is a sellout so I'm going to pass on the long drive from the Sacramento area and the crazy Raiders fans and watch from the comfort of my man cave

Report: Harbaugh very likely gone [update: now gone]
BobbyC81 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, Harbaugh smacked Schwartz on the shoulder after a Niners/Lions game and Schwartz thought he hit him too hard so he chased after him. Kind of a "What's your deal?" #2 (1st was Harbaugh and Carroll after Stanford killed USC and they kind of rubbed it in with deep passes at the end and went for two pts after a late TD. Carroll said "What's your deal?" and Harbaugh responded with "What's YOUR deal?" ) -

Why is the fan talking to a tree? -
I agree. Why couldn't they even pay them minimum wage? I know Ralph grew up in a different time and was raised during the depression but I wonder if he knew what was going on. I don't know much about his first wife but Mary seems like a strong woman. I wouldn't think she'd put up with it if she knew. They give Mario Williams the biggest free agent contract at the time, give Fitz a ridiculous raise but won't spend the money to bring in a top coach and can't even give these girls the minimum wage for 4 hours of work? Makes little sense.

Remember that Marty Schottenheimer was fired by San Diego after a 14-2 season because of differences with management. Nothing is guaranteed. I hate seeing the merry-go--round of coaches but with a probable 8-8 finish, it's tough to keep Marrone when you look at the talent on this team. The Watkins trade could also be Whaley's undoing.

Bacarri Rambo. Great football name!

I'm not sure about the Search functionality. I did a search on "Rambo" and it returned nothing. Then I saw the other thread. -

Should the Pegulas clean house...

The Schwartz-led Lions were also very undisciplined and out of control. With all of the off-the-field and on-the-field turmoil for the NFL this year, we've heard very little about Ndamukong Suh and the Jim Caldwell led team this season. -

And the actor, William B. Davis, is still alive and kickin' at the age of 76. Ironically he was born in Toronto. -

Hackett is a Good Offensive Coordinator.

I disagree. How can you justify the way Spiller was being used. He is not an inside runner. Sure the guards aren't playing well enough to count on for a screen game but I've seen some teams runing screens with TEs and WRs blocking. How is he a "good OC" when they play one of the better defensive teams vs the rush in the Jets and they keep running the ball up the middle? They had 32 running plays vs 21 pass plays (including 4 sacks). Yes, they won the game by 20 pts which I was extremely happy with, but anybody who watched the game had to see how much they struggled with their heavy run approach. Take away the 2 long pass plays to Watkins for 145 yards and they gained 135 yds on 51 plays, which is pathetic. Another puzzler was the New England game. The Patriots were one of the worst teams vs the run and one of the better vs the pass (currently 2nd in the NFL) The poor Bills' offensive line and struggling running attack was actually gaining 3 yds per carry. What do they do? Run the ball only 23 times and call 43 pass plays (with 5 sacks). Against Detroit they had a good game plan and/or made the right adjustments. The Lions are also a top run defense but the Bills only ran 22 times with a 2.2 yds per carry avg and had 43 pass attempts with Orton throwing for 308 yards. Three games, in which only one can you say the bills offensive approach was sound. -

Should EJ have taken some downs on Sunday?
BobbyC81 replied to BillAndPhilFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought about that too but decided it wasn't worth the risk. I think there were about 5 minutes left and I thought if EJ came in and threw a pick six or fumbled and it was returned and the Jets made a 2 pter, the lead's down to 12. Jets convert an onside kick and score again and the game's up for grabs. Then they'd have to put Orton back in and that would do more harm than good for EJ's confidence -

"It's hard to win in the NFL..." Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!! -
But who do you replace him with? Easley is a special teams player who rarely has seen the field with the offense and he's injured. Goodwin, like Roscoe Parrish before him, is a special use player that can't be counted on to play a lot. That leaves you with the undrafted Chris Hogan, a possession receiver. Do you bring someone like Da'Rick back, or promote Namaan Roosevelt?

Hackett not properly using Spiller & Jackson
BobbyC81 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And so much for analytics and quality control, which was Hackett's prior role with the Bills. Let's see, we've run this play at the start the game for 22 games and every timer Spiller runs it he loses yardage. Hmm!! It's a good play, let's try it again next game. Doh!! You'd think they could look at how New Orleans first used Reggie Bush and later Sproles with much success to figure out how to use Spiller. Or look at how Gailey used him in 2012. Aaarrgghh!!
