  1. As far as UFAs, other than Jeffery, there's Kenny Britt, Kenny Stills, Pierre Garçon, DeSean Jackson, Michael Floyd, the ageless Anquan Boldin, the aging Vincent Jackson, Terrell Pryor, Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn Jr, Jeremy Kerley, Brian Quick, Terrance Williams and Cordarelle Patterson. This list isn't as bad as I thought with a few of them likely upgrades over Bob Woods and some others arguably similar.
  2. And the free agent WR list is fairly weak other than Alshon Jefferey.
  3. I just don't understand why Belechick is so much better than other head coaches. What's his secret? He had has books written about him. For one, Patriot Reign, written by a Michael Holley, the writer was given access to Belechick, his assistants and players for 2 years. He probably was limited as to what he could write but the blurb I read about the book says it provides insights into how Belichick and his coaching cabinet prepare for opponents, evaluate talent, run the draft, and design their offensive and defensive schemes. You'd think other coaches would read this book to find out how he does it and copy him but there's nobody close to his level. You would think his assistants that got head coaching positions elsewhere could copy his system and be successful but their track record has not been good. You'd expect players that played for him and went to other teams could share some insights with new coaches and teammates towards success but there hasn't been much evidence of that. I know many will respond to this that it's all because Brady is his QB. Well, Brady was injured in the first half of the first game of the 2008 season and, although they didn't make the playoffs, Belechick led that team to a 10-6 record with freakin' Matt Cassell at QB. Cassell, as we know, has gone on to play for a few other teams with limited success. Belechick and the Pats have frequently brought in players that were "cancers" on other teams (Corey Dillon, Randy Moss) and helped them have All-Pro seasons. He's gotten rid of talented players that perhaps didn't fit his team and continues to win. This year he lost one of the All-Time great tight ends to injury but just won the damn Super Bowl. As with many here on TBD, I hate Belechick and Brady but, as our Bills have just hired their 8th coach since the last time they made the playoffs in 1999, I wish Belechick was our coach.
  4. Peyton was eating too many free Papa John's pizzas while Brady is taking care of his body and being careful with what he eats.
  5. Just say No to Romo! He's played in only 5 games in the last 2 seasons and will turn 37 in April. At least when the Bills acquired Bledsoe he was only 30. For comparison sakes, however, Peyton Manning was 36 when he signed with Denver after missing the whole 2011 season.
  6. I would've liked to have heard that post-game conversation between Brady and Goodell. Brady was pretty animated and then Goodell was shaking his head when he responded. Could it have been something like... Brady: Roger, thanks for the suspension that drove us to another title Goodell: There's no need to put it on me...
  7. I like his retirement announcement. You mean he wasn't already retired? Of course this isn't as bad as Ray Allen who kept talking about coming back for 3 years before finally retiring.
  8. I haven't followed since the 70's, but don't they use nicknames anymore like The Shiek, Bobo Brazil, Andre the Giant?
  9. Rob Johnson was a backup for Jacksonville for whom the Bills traded a 1st round pick for.
  10. What? The Chargers had a youngster, Tyrell Williams, have a great season. They also had Travis Benjamin and Darnell Inman. Plus they have Keenan Allen and Stevie Johnson coming back from injuries. I don't think they need to pay for a free agent wide receiver. If Woods really wants to come back to California, the Niners have the biggest need for wide receivers. Of course, it's unknown who their QB will be.
  11. Great analysis OP. Thanks for putting the time in on this. Jaws would be impressed.
  12. Yeah, but could you imagine the reaction by the bozos at TBN if the Bills did something like this?
  13. Yes, that choosing up sides was really stupid. It was impossible to remember who was on which team. Having Bills players on both teams, you couldn't root for one team. The NHL tried the same thing which was equally stupid. Team Crosby vs Team Kane!
  14. Yeah, I remember Fergy walking to the sidelines with his head down after throwing an interception.
  15. It's time to get rid of the 'Gate' reference. It started when Nixon was president with the break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington DC at an office complex called Watergate.
  16. We won the offseason! Rex: "My resume speaks for itself!"
  17. If you add Romo and he's healthy, Charles Clay will be a more effective tight end.
  18. Since I was also in a job/career I didn't like, I suffered from depression which resulted in numerous hours of therapy and various antidepressants. My daughter was born a few years later which helped tremendously. Then I had a career change where I got into something I really enjoyed. Now, retired early, I'm enjoying not working, still at an age where I can enjoy other things in life while I still can. Still, the cloud of the Bills never having won a Super Bowl exists with each season beginning with hope, as always, but ending without a title and of course the last 17 seasons without even making the playoffs. Not living in the Buffalo area, and seeing friends and co-workers experience their teams winning the Super Bowl has been tough to take. At the time of the first Bills Super Bowl appearance, only 12 different teams had won the Super. Since the Bills last Super Bowl appearance, 7 more teams have won the title for the first time. So, the Bills are now one of only 13 teams to not have won a Super Bowl title. As Super Bowl 51 approaches, it seems more pathetic that the Bills have not won one. I have finally come to accept that, like many Cubs fans that have gone before us and did not see their team win this last World Series, I probably won't experience a Bills' Super Bowl victory, which is definitely not my thinking back with Super Bowl 28.
  19. There have also been players like Matt Barkley, Leinart who were considered possible 1st round picks after their junior years but stayed in school and dropped
