  1. Whether the Bills mgmt recognizes shortcomings of O-Line or lack of WR speed, I wouldn't be surprised at another deal, even if it's a low level move.
  2. It's somewhat a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The offense led the league in rushing each of the last 2 years. So, what happens? An OC is brought in with a different line-blocking scheme. It seems Miller may be struggling with this new scheme or Ducasse is just Castillo's buddy or both. Missing Glenn is likely playing a big part also but right now the collective O-Line is not playing well. Maybe they just need some more time to jell.
  3. The NBA continues to be innovative with contracts (still all guaranteed though) and salary cap rules. It's about time the NFL comes up with some new way of dealing with situations like this . Maybe allow one player contract per year that gets wiped from the salary cap. It's going in the other direction though as there is more guaranteed money than there ever was. They did allow for bonuses to be spread out over the contract but it makes it tough to get rid of a player if it's going to screw up the salary cap if there are years left on his contract. Unfortunately, all it takes is for one team to set a precedent (increased contract guarantees) that ends up screwing it up for others.
  4. I've watched the half hour highlight show of SB XXV many times. Yes, the FG would've won the game but there were so many more crucial plays. It's agonizing to see the Bruce Smith tackle of Hostetler where a fraction of a second or one inch could've resulted in a fumble. Then there was Mark Ingram breaking several tackles to get a 1st down on 3rd and 17. Finally, there was the clock management at the end where the Bills could've easily ran a couple more plays to make the FG attempt shorter, especially with a pass instead of Thurman run on the last play. They seemed to play for the 47 yard FG, which was out of Norwood's range.
  5. But with noodle-armed Fitz as QB, the majority of his receptions were quick short hits. Stevie didn't have deep speed.
  6. Early in his career, Brady didn't have as prolific of stats that he did later. Drew Brees consistently put up better fantasy numbers, somewhat because the Saints defense was weak and the team wasn't always a winner. Brees has had 5 seasons of over 5,000 passing yards while Brady has only had one. Going back further, Marino was dominant in his era. He was responsible for many leagues going to the 4 point passing TD because it seemed whoever got the 1st pick took him and won the league.
  7. Hey, if Tyrod doesn't work out, this guy can sling it! No hesitation throwing over the middle.
  8. So, even though I believe this coaching staff will be better than Rex and the clown show, a similar change happened to what Rex did to the defense. The offensive line was great at run blocking as they led the league in rushing each of the last 2 seasons, so what do they do? They bring in an offensive coordinator who likes a different type of blocking scheme . Again we have an unnecessary scheme change and at least initially, Miller, who improved tremendously last year, struggles. The scheme change hasn't seemed to have affected the effectiveness of the running game but it may have affected the pass protection. Let's hope the positive signs for the defense with the return to the 4-3 carry over to regular season play.
  9. A tweet on Bills Daily just says "our condolences to the Kelly family". Anybody hear anything more?
  10. That was my experience. Sold out everywhere a while back I guess. Still saw them on Amazon but they were price gouging, $50 for 4.
  11. Can someone (McDermott?) please tell us what the freakin' "process" is?! Is it really like the Sixers process of tanking to get high draft picks and build that way, no matter the suffering to be experienced before "The Process" yields results?!! And after the 1st two preseason games, he didn't see much good quarterbacking or winning and decided to "exit stage left"
  12. Punctuation can be your friend (and definitely to anyone reading this)
  13. The University of Buffalo football team has been competitive in the MAC, albeit a mid-Major conference. They have also been playing top teams in their non-conference schedule. People need to get out and support them and watch their games on TV. I'm a UB grad on the West Coast and I watch every game I can. I even attended their game at Nevada, Reno a few years ago. Their QB Tyree Jackson has a chance to be a good one.
  14. Ten TVs?!! You live in a freakin' mansion?
  15. Me too, but I'm biased as he's the cousin of a recent co-worker.
  16. You also have to figure in that you need to use premium gas in the Ferrari, which costs more, vs the regular you can use in the Volkswagen, unless it's a diesel. Well, I remember somebody posting on here during the layoff after the minicamp that Sammy was spotted playing basketball at a health club. Then he reports to training camp and can't practice?
  17. You offering up your place? I second that.
  18. Yes, Beane said they had discussions with the Rams for weeks and the Rams just got serious.
  19. Yes, he had great game speed. Bill Walsh saw film of him in college and saw the same thing. With Montana at QB, they ran a lot of 20 to 30 yard posts, with Rice and Taylor taking them the distance. They rarely threw any long passes down the sidelines. Speaking of sideline passes, I watched the first half of the Raiders game and EJ started. Right from the beginning he was decisive and fairly accurate on short passes, completing his first seven. He then attempted a bomb down the right sideline which, of course, was 5 yards out of bounds.
  20. Something happen with Astro?
  21. Although there has been a lot of player turnover of drafted players, there have only been a few that you can say made the moves regrettable. The most obvious, and similarity to this Watkins trade, was Marshawn Lynch. After using a 1st round pick on him, he was traded after a couple of seasons for low round picks We then had to watch him have multiple seasons of 1000+ yards and 10+ TDs and helped lead Seattle to two Super Bowls. I hope history doesn't repeat itself.
  22. It's great with these 8:45 AM practices that I wake up here on the West Coast and can read about it.
  23. Is that name a Twitter abbreviation?
  24. Is he related to Samari, Antrel or Butch?
  25. Yeah, if the Eagles thought very highly of Matthews, they wouldn't have brought in Alshon Jeffrey and Torrey Smith as free agents and drafted two other wide receivers.
