  1. Since some like to refer to McD as Jauron Jr., I'm rooting for 7-9. Beat the Colts in this next game, then lose the last three. With all the 6-6 and 5-7 teams currently, that could move them up a few spots in the draft. If Darnold and Rosen are in the draft, and snagged by Cleveland, Jets, Giants, etc., a Baker Mayfield could be available around the 12th pick.
  2. "We're building a team, not collecting talent."
  3. Because he cares. It may be a long time since he played but he's still a Buffalo area resident and a Bills' fan.
  4. I agree on the players. If they were more patient with Watkins, opted in on his 5th year and he was not injured, as is the case so far, he could've helped this team a lot. Ragland was traded when his value was the lowest and they should've waited until they could've got more in trade for Dareus, especially since they have no replacement. So, they took a team that had a potent rushing attack, screwed it up by changing the blocking scheme, and further weakened an already below average receiving group. Defensively, the safeties were improved but the poor run defense hasn't been fixed and the pass rush has been weak.
  5. Don't know but even though it didn't affect the result of the game, enough is enough with Hughes. I'd have told him to go to the locker room after that and cut his butt after the game. Hopefully they dump him in the offseason.
  6. The play call in the 4th Qtr on 4th and goal was ridiculous and Dennison should be canned just for that. Yes, I know we've seen many teams do something similar but I just don't get it. An empty backfield and a low percentage fade pattern? UNACCEPTABLE!!!! You could still have a spread formation with McCoy in the backfield so the defense can't tell whether you're going to run or pass but an empty backfield made no sense on 4th and goal from the one. They were very effective running the ball on that drive up until then. I'd rather see an attempt to power it in instead of a fade pattern by a rookie QB to a rookie WR. I wouldn't even call that if it was Larry FItzgerald.
  7. Good point. I heard discussion about this recently where they compared it to the NBA, who have their draft right after the Finals and then free agency begins in early July. The NFL having their draft in the middle of the free agency period makes little sense.
  8. It would be worth one of Jerry Hughes ‘ stupid personal foul penalties if he knocked Brady out of the game
  9. I know Cousins has stated he wants to stay with the Skins but I find it hard to believe with the way they've treated him, especially now saying they're going to evaluate him in the last 5 games, after he's been the starter for the last 3 seasons.
  10. Wait. Is James Coleman related to Walt Coleman?
  11. If the Bills make the playoffs, they are one of 12 teams. That means the highest their pick could be is 21. Let’s assume KC also makes it so the pick from them is similar. It then depends on what happens in the 1st round before they pick. If they have say 4 guys rated as 1st round picks and they’ve all been taken, do they just take the next QB on their list? I believe if both picks end up in the high teens or low 20s and they keep them, they would use one to take a QB
  12. Are we maybe missing the detail of Rex being told to bench Taylor and he refused, so he was fired? Then Lynn was told and he obeyed?
  13. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it in real time and then saw the replays. What a poor effort.
  14. You're too kind to the Bills defense. Pats 64-17.
  15. Eli wasn't having that bad of a season with 14 TDs and 7 INTs for just over 2400 yards, especially since he lost OBJ and Brandon Marshall early and Sterling Shepard missed some games. His 219 yds per game, though, is a drop off from recent seasons (for comparison, TT at 184 yds/game). Also, despite the Giants' O-Line woes, Eli has been sacked only 26 times vs 31 for TT. I remember that Eli struggled some when McAdoo became OC but then had two of the best seasons of his career in 2014 and '15, with 30 TD passes in 2014, 35 in 2015, 14 INTs in both seasons and over 4400 passing yards in each.
  16. Maybe, but at 36 he's somewhat like Bledsoe when the Bills got him. Probably not much left.
  17. One thing you left out is that Tyrod is considered a very good leader. When you look at someone like Rosen, yeah he's a talented passer but his teammates don't like him. Cutler has a great arm but is not a leader. Teams need leaders and the QB is the leader of the offense and usually the team.
  18. Generally, when the Dolphins leave the warmth of Miami and play in Buffalo in December, the Bills win. The reverse has happened also and this season we get both. So, a split is likely. The way this NFL season has gone, though, the road teams will probably win.
  19. I agree. These scripted group celebrations weren't seen much before the restrictions were put in. I remember years ago the Redskins had the "Fun Bunch" with a quick celebration but mostly it was individual celebrations. It's pretty lame to mimic child games like leapfrog.
  20. Another plodder in Jonathan Stewart. I'm not sure McCaffrey can be an every down back but Stewart is nearing the end also at 30 yrs old in his 10th season. I agree that the Bills may move on from McCoy after this season, mainly because of his salary. There may be only a few players left from the end of the 2016 on the team to start the 2018 season as I also think it's likely that Kyle Williams, Glenn, Clay, Alexander, Miller, Hughes and Taylor could all be gone.
  21. That was a great play. They are playing very well now. I guess my timing was off. I could've sworn the game was Friday but I couldn't find it on ESPN3 and then it appeared in Upcoming Games as today at 4. In the meantime I saw this thread but watched the game today anyways. Even though I hope to be around several more years, I know I won't likely see the Bulls competing for the national title (unless they expand the playoffs to 16). So, it was great in 2008 when the Bulls went to their first bowl after winning the MAC and then went to another a few years later. Now I just hope to see a bowl win. Early days of the AFL gave teams exclusive rights for players within their region. Too bad that practice doesn't exist today as the Bills would benefit from having first crack at T. Jackson, A. Johnson and Hodge.
